At the moment, I'd take a 1-0 win without any injuries and an Aquilani last minute goal. Mind you, I think 6-0 would help me forget about the Madrid derby. I've been a bit too teary for the last couple of days.

This is a good opportunity to get a win before the international break. Hopefully Aquilani will make a cameo appearance as well.

Team: Reina, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Insua, Mascherano, Lucas, Benayoun, Riera, Kuyt (c), Ngog

Subs: Cavalieri, Darby, Kyrgiakos, Spearing, Aquilani, Gerrard, Babel

Torres not in the squad. Come on Ngog. Nice to see Johnson, Skrtel and Riera back. Hopefully Aquilani will get a run around. Expecting a tight game, to be honest.

Cameron Jerome!! November is just over a week old and a strong contender for Goal of the month, if not season.

That makes the contact with Eduardo when he alledgedly dived against Celtic look like a rugby tackle in comparison and look how much stick he got.

Diving to win a point at home against Birmingham.

Dear oh dear.

Three for me, and two for them.

Just watched the incident. Terrible dive. Even if there was contact he was in stride and would have been hit on his back leg, while his landing left leg would have been fine but he tucks them both up and takes a fall.

Ah... not only 2 points, but more injuries...

N'Gog should have really dropped his legs, Wide receiver style, to catch some contact, he already did the hard part drawing him into slide and moving the ball away.

I thought he could have milked it more. Maybe a 'Didier Seizure' to finish it off.

Lucky?! 35 f**king shots. Now with Yossi and Riera out, probably for the City game next, if not Debrecen and the derby, it gets worse and worse. Terrible result, terrible dive but come on... We DO have injury problems (mind you, that team should have been good enough). Jerome . Absolute peach of a goal. People obviously didn't watch the game who say we were lucky. We were lucky for the penalty, that was poor form, but we could/should have had a hatful.

Loved Yossi, Lucas and Masch protecting Ngog from that c**t Carsley anyhow. Togetherness in terrible times!

Hmmmmm any word  on whether UEFA is taking action? Because that was WAY worse than Dudu's dive against Celtic...

its up to the FA to charge him as it was directly under their jurisdiction.
edit- and they wont open up that can of worms again in a hurry i think.

. Anyway, our reserves are top of the League after a 4-1 victory against Hull! Good to see. These lads couldn't do much worse than Voro from the bench...

Had to laugh at reading this...... From Soccernet.com.

David Ngog's agent insists his client is no diver after the Liverpool striker was criticised for winning a controversial penalty against Birmingham City on Monday night.

David Ngog angered Lee Carsley with his dive in the second half.

Ngog was branded a cheat by Blues midfielder Lee Carsley for going down in the box without any contact from his challenge and has come under fire for his ''dive'', although agent, Bruno Satin says the player is no cheat.

"He wouldn't try and con the ref," Satin told The Sun. "He's a lad with very good education, correct and polite. He doesn't look for these things. He's never had a problem of this type before in his career.

"Maybe he fell down because he was worried about being injured. At times players make very hard challenges in England. They allow a lot of things to defenders in the Premier League. At times it's really on the limit.

"Sometimes there are challenges that can assassinate you. A defender could get five matches for throwing his shirt and the player who broke the leg of Eduardo only had a three-game suspension.

"Did the defender put the safety of the player in danger? You have to look at things in a more reasonable proportion."

Meanwhile, Birmingham defender Scott Dann has called on the FA to punish any divers.

"The only way you can stop it is to suspend cheats and it's up to the FA to sort it out," said Dann. "We all know diving goes on but no one likes to see it. I'd never dive to win a penalty. David Ngog is not the only one who has ever done it. A lot of it goes on and it is disappointing. It is a tough one for us to get our heads around.

"People say they are not sure what can be done to stop it, but rules can be changed to clean up football - and people have to be punished heavily. Everyone who saw it knew it was a dive. I am just sick because I had family and friends there and wanted to put one over on Liverpool. But we can take some consolation in the fact that Ngog had to dive to stop us beating them."

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Meh. It was obviously a dive, I don't know why he even bothered trying to defend Ngog. But anyway, in more good news Yossi and Riera will both be out injured. It's just one of those seasons...

I also heard recently they can't afford anything. Meh, hope we keep him. But I really don't know anymore. Losing him and Xabi would be a massive loss. But ah well, lets wait and see. Rumours, rumours, rumours...

Exactly! Bring on your Mancher City! Meh. I'm kind of over being down anyway. I've decided that this is my team and I'll love them no matter what. f**k all the off-field bollocks; I support the players on the pitch and the people off it.

Mind you, the Reds players won't be too happy; their jobs might be at stake. Siggy > Carra!!
