Valencia. Will be hard to stop the best striker in the world in some piss easy competition.

Three for me, and two for them.

Good result- getting through was the main thing. Lille won't be easy. Second leg at Anfield?

Fat Sam is a c**t. Well, with City winning at the Bridge, we really have to beat Blackburn. Villa have the Carling Cup final, and Spurs have our neighbours, who will hopefully do us a favour.

any chance a fractured metatarsal could keep Skrtel out until the WC?

it would be handy

Yeah, I think he is a doubt for the World Cup... Smeltz and co will be pleased; I'm gutted for the loss of the rest of the season though. He was playing well too. Yeah. We REALLY need to win tonight! Ahh!

Well, we did our part and got 3 points. Petty you can never trust a Blue though...
Good to see Stevie and Nando on the score sheets again, hopefully it's contagious because it's starting to get real clogged from 4-7 on the table.

Sounds like an ugly win....Still better than no win. Next up,  Wigan away....hopefully another win! Is the transfer of Jovanovic to us confirmed?

Milan Jovanović  will join us when the window opens and his contract ends with Standard.

Got the win, had some decent periods. But also allowed Blackburn lots of possession in advanced areas.

Skrtel had some decent games, but prior to making his way back into the starting line up he looked really poor.

Yeah, but after a run of games, Skrtel was looking boss.

Happy enough with that win. Blackburn were lucky to end the match with all 11 men, to be honest. Nzonzi had to go for that shove on Lucas, and Chimbonda sahould have been sent off for lashing out at Maxi. Diouf is such a prick. Fat Sam is also one, and Rafa's comments ("His style, I think, Barcelona are thinking about copying.") were hilarious. Well said.

Masch was great at right back. Gerrard played well. And Torres... what can you say? First game back and he scores the winner. Top first half, although he tired in the second half. Maxi played extremely well. I'm pleased with that all round. Played some nice stuff too. And Reina's save at the end...! Awesome.

You do realise Cesc said this about two years ago now to Mark Hughes' face. Rafa should think up his own insults.

Also ironic given the football Perennial strugglers Liverpool often play, especially this season.

Three for me, and two for them.

Well, I didn't know that Cesc said it. Did he also make the comments regarding kids and parents??

Yeah, true. But Fat Sam is a c**t. That pathetic performance against Madrid in the Bernabeu was like a second division side...

Bit disappointing there, Lucas. Where was the triple roll, clutching of the eyes and one leg and/or hand? A notable scream of agony would have also drawn attention...

Losing Skrtel is a blow but apparently Johnson returned to full training this week so with him back soon Carra can go back to CB with Agger or Kyrgiakos (once he's back from suspension) and we'll be ok.

I see today the club are about to offer Masch an improved contract to keep him at Anfield and stop Barcelona from trying to pinch him.

I also read to today that the independent panel set up to review previously secret documents about Hillsborough convened for the first time this week. No small task though, they've got 45,000 boxes of material to go through!! It's going to take them 2 years.

Exactly. Like Maxi did when Chimbonda lashed out and got a (deserved red card)... Oh, wait! Wiley is an idiot.

Also, we absolutely MUST get Masch and Reina new deals. Two HUGE players for this club. Barcelona, go away and buy Fabregas or something...

Oh, I read that Reina will sign a new deal!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!
Permalink Permalink

Yeah, Reina wants a new deal and hopefully we can secure Masch too.
I'm just hoping for no injuries during the International break. These 'not for anything' friendlies can do a lot of damage if someone like Nando or Stevie hit a blade of grass he wrong way... actually a bit like Oram did last night. That weed he tripped on has busted him up good.

Walkon.com rumours site said that Reina had signed a new deal......... Isn't the gossip that masch's missus wants to move to Spain? .......CHICKS!.

I agree though Kop...please no injuries. Also just read an article about Riera. Saying that it looks like he won't get an extended contract. HE was pretty good for us last year but has pretty much sucked since being injured this year. Hopefully he can turn it aroundTyler2010-03-04 08:43:37

Right chaps, Wigan tomorrow morning. Nando up front, Stevie and Benny making the plays. Aquaman for a run with Masch? Is Soto back from Suspension yet?

Wolfman Kyrgiakos is back and so is Johnson. May have to many defenders! See Carragher was saying he would leave if he couldn't be guaranteed a starting position. Would be sad to see him go. No more slip ups in the race for fourth though

Didn't watch the game due to late start and having to be @ work early, but judging from everything I've read and heard, I won't bother.

Extremely gutted at this and the seasons results, and with the team, and results like this against teams in the drop zone are getting too hard to bear.

No passion, hunger, desire, skill, teamwork, belief, leadership, depth, heart, or hope.

Disgraceful...

Why not just piss $20 mil down the drain.

I'm over Rafa, all I hear from the guy is excuses.

He needs to go...

Pretty pathetic, to be honest. Meh. I didn't hear any excuses from Rafa today though, except that we just played too sh*te, gave the ball away FAR too easily and played absolutely no football.

Sickening to watch though! Utterly dreadful. This season somehow just gets worse and worse.

1 year ago to the week, we beat Madrid 4-0 and smashed United 1-4 at their own place.
