Stevie G! Nice one, so glad that we won that. Great fight from the boys. Staying in the mix for 4th, Man U dropped more points

Best stick to this forum. The Arse boys are a tad sensitive.

Anyhoo , I was quite nervous about this game. Over the last few years , we've had a tendency to play well against the "bigger " teams and drop points against teams we really shouldn't. And great games tend to be followed by shark.

The game against the Arse was one of the best I've EVER seen from them ( that include that legendary 5-0 against Forest , before some of you were born , I suspect :-) ). So this one worried me a bit.

Fulham belied their position ( ignore their last game , Man U is like Paris Hilton at the moment). They were good this morning , we were good in parts only. But  , and this is crucial , we won while playing ugly. A hallmark of the very good United teams of the 90's who could grind out wins even when playing poorly. So a very promising result.

Downsides- Toure is now a complete liability and has no longer got a role in the first team IMO. But if Sakho and Agger are back then he isn't needed , except to run on the water and oranges.

Anyone else going to the Hillsborough anniversary?

Not all of us.Had the pleasure of attending that game.
Really enjoying the way we are playing this year.

Best tweet of the day from my favourite LFC tweeter, Pat Cake,"That was like my granny in the sauna. Kind of exciting but WAY too close for comfort.".   And, while I am at it, best comment of the day on The Guardian post-match, "Steven Gerrard...The things I would do to that man would get me arrested in Russia.". LOL.

But on a slightly different note, does anyone else sense similarities between The Phoenix and Liverpool. Both have a new(ish) coach, both are getting better and better... Just a thought.

Hey you bastards I'm still here.

Maybe Ernie told them pre the Jets game  "just go out there and play like Liverpool this morning"    ..did the trick!

Edit:   Sam,  an interesting observation about the Liverpool v Arsenal and Jets v Phoenix games last weekend....

Scorers for Liverpool were Skrtel, Sterling and Sturridge.

Scorers for Phoenix were Hernandez. Huysegems and Hicks. It's one thing to play like Liverpool...

 but that's just showing off!

;)

Out of the cup.....I wasn't really expecting anything else TBH.

See BR say we have no mid week games for the rest of the season which will help our push to Europe. Hope he is right!

This is true but if we are to finish in the top four and have champ league, fa cup, carling cup and league next season it's going to be a hell of a change from this season!

Konoplyanka tearing it up vs Spurs this morn, increasing his profile. It probably means someone with more money will come in and snap him up.

I also see that Reina is on the bench for Napoli? Is this a regular thing does anyone know?

Yeah I did see plank did alright v spurs.  We will see what happens in the new year.  Maybe someone else will surface.  Reina got half a game this morning but I think he may have lost his place to the Brazilian keeper Rafael.

Jeez sounded like an exciting game! Sturridge is sure on a tear right now.
Great result for us at Carrow Road just now also.

Everton and Spurs lose so great results for us. Tough game away vs Southampton this weekend

Suarez hasn't scored in ages huh, sell him...he is past his prime!

Big 3 points this morning after Everton and Tottenham both lost. Champions League really is ours to lose at this point.

Need Sakho back. Skrtel is having a shocking run , although to be fair he isn't the only one. Geez , we miss Carragher.

SUre we can score for fun but we need to when we're conceding 2 goals a game. Works against the shark teams but if we may not do to against the Chelskis and City's of the world.

How much better is Sterling this year??

Didn't help having Sakho, Agger, Johnson and Enrique out at the same time. We did well to cover! Especially with no Lucas to screen too. Tricky game this weekend, first of 3 away games on the trot.

Shakey first half, despite the Suarez goal. Southampton always threatened.

Sterling injection and immediate goal eased my stress somewhat.Stevie G with another great penalty to ice the cake.

Well done Liverpool!! Great result for 2nd in the League.

2nd!! Yay!! Another mid-table away fixture next week :)

Title challenge anyone? With arsenal slipping up this morning and games against chelsea and city to come, there is potentially only one point in it!

Yep. They're going to win the League. Put money on it now.

It has taken a long time for Liverpool to be in contention and they have a chance. If they make it, it will be an amazing effort.

I just can't see City losing this.

Wanna bet? At long last Liverpool have found their mojo - just as Man U have lost theirs. Coincidence? Maybe.

What they share the same mojo? Or is the mojo like the littlest hobo and travels from football club to football club?

Keep those expectations down lads! still aiming for 4th but would be so stoked if we finished higher. We still have a tough run of games though.  great to get a result like that even though for periods we were outplayed. And a clean sheet too! First one in donkeys

im with you tyler,if we can at the very worst get 4th it will have been a hugely successful season, altho we didn't concede against saints(we probably should have) im still not convinced we have the defense 2 challenge city and Chelsea, but how good would it be for the mighty stevie g to lift the premiere league trophy in 10 games oh just the mare thought of it brings a smile to my face

MASSIVE game vs Man U on the weekend.

3 days before they play Olympiacos so they may have one eye on that but hopefully we can well and truley knock them out of the race for 4th.Think we have a mainly fit squad so really hoping for a good win.

Not sure if you guys have heard but we've set up LFC Wellington based at The Pub whilst Four Kings is being sorted.

All info is on twitter @lfcwellington or FB https://www.facebook.com/#!/LFCWellington

We're meeting for a drink tonight at The Pub, 101 the Terrace at 6pm, and will be watching the Utd game delayed at 6am, Monday 17th.

Be great to see you there if you can make it, and any help getting the word out there whilst we are trying to get everything set up would be huge!

Can't wait. Best scenario is we win and then Man U lose against Olympiacos a few days later. There season will be over! all those years of receiving mockery from Man U fans....I see light at the end of the tunnel

Quality mate. Sadly I'm down in chch so can't make it but there is a group slowly building for the game which will be great. You on twitter? I'll give you a follow if I'm not already.

Win and we go 14 points clear, and end their top 4 hopes. Need to score early I reckon, could be spurs away all over again!
