Indeed. Times certainly have changed...

Have to give massive credit to Brendan Rodgers huh? Brought in a new philosophy and cleaned out some of the big earners Kuyt, Maxi, Downing. Him and the club stood firm on Suarez in the off season and now the team looks lethal. Well done BR

Disaster of a morning for me. Last minute change of plans meant I couldn't make it to The Pub, then my bloody premierleaguepass wouldn't work so I missed the bloody game!

Great result though, sounds like we were totally dominant. Two things I pondered this morning - firstly that it's bloody tight at the top. If Liverpool and Arsenal win their catch-up fixtures there will be one point between 2nd and 4th, with City only 3 ahead. Still anyone's title!

Second, if Suarez manages to break all the goalscoring records this season as it looks like he might, that will be a monumental effort given that he doesn't take penalties. Would it be fair to assume that most of the players near the top of those all-time scoring records would be their team's penalty takers? Imagine what Suarez's tally would look like if he was ours!

Anyway, cracker result, onwards and upwards!

As a neutral what gets me is the work Suarez does off the ball to create space. Would love to be at a live game and just watch his play for ninety minutes.

Me too, I'm thinking very seriously about making a trip to Anfield next season if we make the CL. If that happens I would actually love some tips from any UK expats/fans as I've never been. Will post about that closer to the time though as I don't want to jinx it!

Hey guys,

We'll be showing the LFC v Sunderland game at The Pub, 101 The Terrace on Thursday 27th March at 9am.
Be great if you could make it.

Just to let you know, we won't be meeting for Cardiff away this weekend. Whilst we are getting up and running we are being selective about which games to meet for. Our aim is to be at a level where we will have all games live come the start of next season, hopefully both Champs League and PL games.

If you think you'll get tickets mate no show unless you do ground work now.
Get joined up to the LFC NZ fan club and you may have a slim chance for a seat in the Anfield Road stand.

Cheers, that's the kind of thing I'll need to look in to more seriously if the trip ends up going aead. Appreciate the advice and will post back in this thread asking for further advice if plans develop.

Sorry Fitzy, out all avo. You've prob seen it now:
FUTURE GAMES ANNOUNCEMENT:
Good morning Wellington Reds.
We've had some unfortunate news today. We've discovered that when setting up LFC Wellington there was a miscommunication regarding possibility of watching live games. Bar licensing laws prohibit The Pub from being open between 3am - 6am which means we won't be able to watch games that are live during those hours. They have given us a commitment that they will open for us at 6am for games that are played during the early morning hours.

Options as they stand are; that we go with this arrangement and meet at 6am on game days (or for kick off outside of these hours e.g 9am Thursday for Sunderland), or we try to find an alternative venue (I've been told this will be a tough proposition but one of you may know someone / somewhere).

I have big ambitions for this Supporters Group, and live games is a big part of that. However, there was a good crew at The Pub for the delayed Utd game and I think getting together to watch games, even if delayed, is what being a Supporters Group is really about. I apologise for any disappointment.

Next 2 games at The Pub, 101 The Terrace:
v Sunderland 9am, Thursday 27th March (live)

v Spurs 6am, Monday 31st March (delayed)

No worries. For what it's worth I don't think the 3am - 6am thing is a big issue. I can't see myself wanting to watch a 4am game live at the pub anyway, if I'm going to go out to watch the game then 6ish is a much better time.

Good to get a decent group together for today's game at The Pub, numbers certainly up from the last game.

Most importantly glad we held on for the win, certainly nerve wrecking with 10 to go!

Here's the next game details:

Good to see some LFC fans at the pub this morning! I had to leave at half time to go back to work so didn't get a chance to say hello but will most likely be there on Sunday morning for the spurs game too.

Damn you lot with your Wellington love in!  Would love something like that to start in chch!  There is only so much atmosphere the cat and a cup tea in the lounge can offer!

So happy to have that buffer between us and the arse.  I have a feeling it will come in handy!

Robags, there are a couple of groups there, an official one (LFC supporters group NZ) and an unofficial one. Issue is they just need someone motivated enough to get people together. Just glad I'm not sitting on my own at the pub! Was worried that'd be the case!

In terms of the league, this game vs Spurs is pretty big for us. A win here would guarantee us top 4 ...well almost, whilst ruining someone else's chance. Similar to the game vs man u a few weeks ago.

Come on boys. A return to Europe awaits!!

Massive weekend coming up. If we lose and City beat Arsenal, I think that is probably the end of our title challenge. If we win and City lose, that means we no longer need results to go our way to win the title. Will still be bloody tough and might require another 7 wins on the trot, but it will be within our control. Come on you reds!

You ought to thrash sp*rs tonight to go top. But the title obviously won't be decided until you face the petrochemical clubs at home.

Great game this morning, good to see a few of you at The Pub!

I just realised the most amazing thing (as far as I'm concerned haha). The last time Liverpool secured a league title was with three weeks to go in the 89/90 season, which was the 28th of April 1990.

The 28th of April 1990 is the day I was born. How f*cking cool is that! Literally born to be a Liverpool fan!
