Agree with you Jazz.  Sakho looks a bit clumsy when he's getting closed down with the ball.  Lucky not to get caught out a couple times.  Both goals coming from crosses was interesting as the full backs must have been under instructions to tuck right into the cb's. And left it to the midfield to really get out to the flanks.  Mignolet has really got to command his area better when coming out for crosses. I felt Skrtel was superb, on the end of so much.  Felt we really missed Sturridge leading the line as Suarez likes to drop deep to receive the ball.  Suarez's run taking away two norwich defenders for the deflected sterling goal was superb.  That was an absolute belter for his first one!  Come on lads!

Skrtel needs to stop grabbing shirts at corners... he's been lucky to get away with it the past two weeks, and giving a penalty away next week for it would be costly.

Bugger me , that was a nervous performance. Brilliant start , looked fabulous and the pace/movement up front was simply too much for Norwich. Sterlings first goal was fantastic and his pass for Suarez's was sublime.

Foot came off pedal a bit  , and also I think credit has to be given to Norwich- they didn't bum up and came and played really well , especially in second half. The fluidity in our play disappeared and often it seemed as if our only outlet was Sterling. But job done.

CHanges for Chelsea- I think we might see Agger in at back but we'll see.

Kopgoff , thanks so much for setting that up. Jr and I had a blast and can't wait til the Chelsea game. Cheers for organising it , especially with the extra hassle of yesterday.

Pleasure mate, thanks for coming along! This game was classic for a team nervous about their league position v a team fighting for survival. They've changed style to a pressing game and it got to us. As per City game we looked nervous with a lead and couldn't hold the ball. Southampton usually play like this against us and we really struggle. Good thing is, Chelsea don't press like that and if Palace go down a few early they'll not have same hunger to get back in it given they won't go down.
See you for Chelsea next week!

Chelsea certainly can press like that... they don't usually do it but they're more than capable - their shutting down in the rout of arsenal was first class, led to the two early goals. Reckon they'll adopt that gameplan against you guys as Sakho and Mignolet do look wobbly when under pressure - perhaps Agger starting would be a good option as someone suggested.

Maybe next week they will bandage both his hands to stop that! By the way, did anyone else note Coutinhos new tattoos? Must be rooming with the centre backs on away trips...

Cracking result! Nervy, but that was always going to be a tight game given our nerves and their desperation. Disappointed I couldn't make it to the pub, I'm currently in Cairns. Fly back just as the Chelsea game kicks off so will aim to make the second half at least.

Fun fact, the Chelsea game on the 28th (nz time) will mark 24 years since we secured our last title. It is also my birthday so if I turn up and yous have drunk all the beers I'll be mad.

Managed to make it through the day with no spoilers, just finished watching.

Yay 3 points and another step closer. Players looked as shakey as I felt at times but it matters not. Roll on sunday night. To The Pub!!!

Come and join us for the LFC v CHELSEA game, this coming Monday morning.

Doors will be open from 11pm Sunday, and based in the queues for the Norwich game, it might pay to be there close to opening time.

Kick off is at 1:05am.

Please note, we will need to leave The Pub at the full time whistle to comply with licensing laws. Please make life easy for The Pub staff by respecting this.

If you intend to come (and are subscribed to Facebook) can you please indicate so by 'joining' the event. https://m.facebook.com/events/235185240008201

This will give me a chance to give numbers to The Pub to help with staffing. It would be great to have an increase on the 135 fans we had to the Norwich game! Also, this will be our first LFC fan only event. We'd ask that you please don't invite Chelsea supporting friends as we don't want to have to turn Reds away at the door because the venue is too full.

It's no exaggeration to call this the biggest game of the season, probably the biggest some of you would have known. Don't be shy about being excited and vocal on Monday! Win here and we'll have one hand well and truly on the trophy.

As per usual, please spread the word to any Wellington based Reds who haven't made an appearance to The Pub yet, let's pack the place out!

Any questions, please let me know.

I watched this last night.
Forgive the naivety of my post but I never knew much about this at all, I never understood why people were banging on about 'justice for the '96' etc etc, I always assumed that standing terraces were an accident waiting to happen and that the accident happened, so the rules were changed accordingly.
Wow, just wow. I could not believe what I was watching, it was absolutely mind blowing.
I had no clue about the incompetent decisions by senior police that day and the subsequent cover-up. I can't believe that the altered statements of the policemen were ignored for years, despite being there for all to see.
It was absolutely outrageous, my bottom lip was on the floor for basically the entire two hours, I'm flabbergasted this is still playing out in the courts etc 25 years later.

I think this is where a lot of the trolling and abuse info lfc comes from, people don't actually understand what happened. They've heard the 'official' version either from parents or police and have gone from there. It's a football issue, not just a lfc issue. It could have happened to any clubs fans, it's just sickening. I couldn't watch it last night, will try again tonight, but have heard its compelling viewing but very hard to watch

I started watching it but the tone it paints from the start (and the correct tone) was so very, very heavy when I was in need of a decent nights sleep. I suspect this may have been hard to come by if I'd watched it from start to finish.

The lack of planning and amateur approach from the Police is unbelievable in the build up to the disaster. How did this kind of thing not happen more before seated stadiums were mandatory.

Yes my night's sleep was severely disrupted that's for sure! Couldn't get to sleep for an hour afterward, it was rather haunting.

After the dead and their families, I felt most sorry for the policemen actually there dealing with it. Horror sights, not equipped well enough, on a hiding to nothing - and then when they had their chance to vent in their statements, they were vetted and altered without them knowing until years later.

The ones interviewed in that doco were clearly terribly affected by the whole thing, it was very sad.

Watched about half of it last night and then had to stop so the missus could head off to bed. She started watching it with me and got enthralled in the whole story. She had heard the basics from me but didn't realize the cover up behind it and the cascade of lies that started almost immediately that went on to be 'the truth'.

I had heard all the various bullshark facts, like the stealing off the dead and peeing on the cops(WTF??) and thought for goodness sake thats ridiculous, and never really believed much more about it. I now believe that the pompous ass that did the second report should be pretty much strung up for what he did, and there should probably be massive compensation paid to the families (unless it already has been?).

Not sure anyone needs locking up for actions on the day, but Duckinfield should have been cashiered and sacked immediately, loss of pension etc just for being incompetent and causing deaths through inaction and then lying and refusing to take the hit. Weak ass tosser from what I saw.

What really bothered me was the blatant attempt to discredit anyone involved (checking of criminal records etc). Whoever was behind that shark, after the fact obviously, should be locked up for sure. Appalling. Arse covering and the old boys network strike again.

I must buy Prof. Scratons book actually...

I read about this the other day, it was actually a starters pistol, but was seen on tv and would have obviously looked quite shocking.

Was watching it live on TV, I see I stand corrected about it, but it really looked like a Barretta in his hand. The TV commentators couldn't believe it at the time. Two scenarios that both had Liverpool involved and both time was a massive cluster fudge by the various parties involved in sorting it out. I too thought the worst of Liverpool fans and did for a number of years. But hey, I am happy to hold my hand up and admit I got it wrong too. Regardless of all this though, I hope you win the title. Those teams from 1976 - 1990 were excellent to watch.
