Pretty happy with Remy, may have to manage his attitude but can't be any worse than one Mr Suarez. Although no-one ever questioned his work ethic.

Feel a little sad for Borini. He worked really hard and things worked against him. Still.....pretty good money!

I was a little surprised that we could get that kind of money for Borini, so pleased with that. He must have added about 10 mil to his value just in the last two months of last season!

Edit: didn't realise that transfer wasn't confirmed yet, seems it's still a little up in the air.

Haha, yeah, always get a bit too busy for this.

Borini not wanting to go to Sunderland though, he wants to prove himself at Liverpool, but he may be forced out, or Gus will convince him.

Borini has already purchased a house in Sunderland apparently so expect the move to happen. Stalling to push wages up?

LTV: Post Season today Thursday 11am-2pm Sommet Sports possibly coverage of the friendly vs Roma.

Guess it will be repeated too.

Last night they had coverage of another Liverpool friendly.

Watch out for further friendlies on Liverpool TV on Sommet.

Remy and Origi fly to USA to have medicals....Lovren next?

I heard Glen Johnson is of interest to QPR. Would be a surprise but I wouldn't be gutted if he left. He has massive wages by all accounts. Also Kolo apparently in discussions with Galatasaray or Fenerbache....one of those crazy teams.

1-0 loss to Roma at Fenway from a last minute goal.

By the sounds of it Coutinho and Can were both brilliant and the defensive work has improved. There does appear to be some concern though with a shoulder injury to Borini, especially given Sunderland making an acceptable offer.

Sounds like they're heading straight back to Bony to activate his release clause. Remy would have been decent but preferred Bony link in the first place...

Plenty of action overnight! Lovren and Origi both signed, although Origi has been loaned back for the season as rumoured, so hard to get too excited about that one. Agger rumoured to be heading to Barcelona. Where was that Bony rumour from?

Er...can't remember haha. I trawl through a LOT of accounts (websites and Twitter).

Heard the Agger one as well. Saw that Lovren has been unveiled by the club but didn't see anything official regarding Origi.

Huntelaar still an option as well I'm reading

The Daily Mail in the UK did this piece. Pretty good read actually...looks like everything from reactions, speed, strength to how dodgy your knees are.

Classic medical fail was Ruud van Nistelrooy... failed his medical at ManU so they said no. Went back to his old club, immediately blew out his knee, then when recovered from that ManU went back and signed him!

What you forgot to say was that United were not happy about his knee, he went back to Holland  and days later he ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments. It was a year later that Utd signed him and they paid more than the original fee.

I quite like the look of bony, kinda pleased the remy deal didn't work.  Need to set the bar a little higher.  Coates definitely in the shop window imo!  Shame really thought he was going to be a decent player after such success with the national side.  Will never forget the goal he got at qpr.  Hell of a bicycle kick

Robbie Fowler's Kiwi In-Laws:

Robbie Fowler's New Zealand connections: (A) He's the brother-in-law of former All White and current Hawkes Bay United player David Mulligan (born in Bootle, Merseyside). Mulligan's brother Kevin is married to Fowler's sister, Lisa. (B) Kevin Fallon's oldest son Sean played with Robbie in Liverpool's youth and reserve sides in the 1990's & they still keep in touch:

From Kevin Fallon's blog (often interesting reading) but there won't be any more on the Mt Albert Grammar School website for reasons evident in the news this week!!!

https://www.mags.school.nz/Story?Action=View&Story_id=6763

7 May 2014:
"I just finished a book called "Fowler - My Autobiography". If you want a down to earth football autobiography read this.
Robbie Fowler was a working class lad from Toxteth. For the uninitiated, that is a rough part of Liverpool that was made world famous for the Toxteth riots in 1981. Fowler lived through this historic British episode and survived to eventually become a world class football player for Liverpool and England.
He tells his story in a down to earth, working class way. He writes as he talks, using the English working class idiom such as "me Mam" for my mother. I enjoyed it because Robbie Fowler played football at Liverpool in the A, B and reserve teams with my oldest son Sean. Fowler went on to fame and fortune and Sean got released - that's football. They are still friends today.
One interesting quote in the book came from one of the old guard at Liverpool, Ronnie Moran. He said the football academies of today teach the kids everything but how to play football!
Another connection is that Robbie's sister Lisa visited MAGS to pick up an international cap for former MAGS player David Mulligan; she spoke on the MAGS stage during her visit. She married David's brother Kevin. It's a small world, indeed. Robbie will never have to worry about working class conditions again for he has invested wisely, and, at the time of writing his book, was the owner of 100 houses!"

...anywhooooo...

LFC vs MUFC in the International Cup final - how are Man Yoo likely to line up? You'd have to say they are likely winners given a few of our top players have now left the tour to head home and work on fitness etc.

I think the way Liverpool played last season they have shown that they are a very good side. I don't think for a second that Utd will win because you will be up for it. Hope it is a good game.

I think we could be missing Hendo, Sterling, Sturridge and Lambert (who is going to play up top?!?)

I see Balotelli rumours are floating about again. Would we take him? I would. Especially because it sounds like he might be going cheap.

They are floating around for two reason

1) AC Milan want shot of him

2) BR was talking him up pre-friendly

I can't see it happening. Wages too big, ego too big and not sure he'd fit the current system BR wants to play. More change of Reus or ?Huntelaar I reckon. We'll probably end up with Torres.

I did like the fact we had a bit of niggle about us with Suarez but yeah, could do without the dramas for now.

I suspect something along the lines of:

                             De Gea

             Blackett    Smalling   Evans

Rafael      Fletcher    Cleverley    Shaw

                 Kagawa

        Nani           Hernandez

Based on an assumption that not many of the guys who started against Real Madrid will start again so soon.

You know we belong together...
