Lambert to Liverpool. Seems a bit underwhelming but then I guess you're blessed with striking talent anyway so he'll be third choice?

Rumor is that its part of the Lallana deal as the more that Lallana sells for the more money goes to his old club bournemouth. We will see. Could be part of a much needed plan B that we needed against a couple teams last season.

"...sure beats doin' stuff."
I'm very happy with Lambert. Need a bigger squad for next season and they can't all be 30 million pound transfers, Lambert will be somewhere between solid and spectacular and is a great bit of business. Welcome to the revolution Rickie!
Jr is fairly happy with Lambert. He's gone a bit cold on Lallana. He's got day off today so when I get home , I'll get him to post his list. But he thinks Lambert is a good deal , may not be first choiuce but has a good scoring record and will certainly be able to do a job.

Just had a few days to ponder the Lambert signing and think it is actually a great signing. Low cost, low risk, and offers something different to SAS with a heap of experience.
Leighbo, I'm not sure we will see a huge amount of money spent. We have to comply with FFP regulations this year and were 50 mill pounds in the red last year. I did see we got a slightly bigger slice of the TV money and will get more money from Champs league but still have to be careful.
Whispers of a Madrid Suarez bid in the very near future.....it's going to be the same every transfer window.

All of the rumours have been that if a bid happens, it will be bigger than the bale money. Really hope we hold our nerve and make a sensible decision, personally I'd be gutted if Suarez goes.

Can't see it bigger then bale money to be honest.....if so i'd take the money
go gunners

I wouldn't. I just don't have a huge amount of confidence that we'll reinvest it effecitvely. As Tottenham have shown this season it's a bloody difficult task, and despite having a good season our track record of new signings over the past few seasons hasn't actually been that flash. It's a bird in the hand situation for me.
I guess its a return on investment task.
Is Suarez actually worth the $100m+ odd that everyone says he is?
Can they get talent that will do the job to the same value or better? Sure you can buy 3x $30m players but you have to get that same input or better or it be a significant upgrade across the squad to justify it.
I would suspect if they are talking a massively inflated figure like that, then there would be other footballers around of 'inflated talent factor' with the same inflated price tag that combined with others, would not measure up so I think its better to keep him.
Grumpy old bastard alert
I reckon if Liverpool sold him, they'd have to buy someone of a similar skill level, of which their are few. Otherwise Liverpool lose out. And then just replacing him seems redundant, might as well keep him - he seems to be content now? Has Champions League to look forward to too.
I think if Bale is worth 90 million, then yeah, Suarez is worth more. I don't agree with the pricing, in saying that, but it is what it is.
I completely agree he is a world class player and would love him to stay, I just think if we get offered that money we should take it. I also think we will take it as the new owners are business men and money talks. Liverpool has not stopped losing money over the past few years either and have to comply with FFP regulations.
There are a few differences between him and Bale though. Suarez is 28 this year and Bale is 23. Will injuries start to catch up on him (Same as Torres?) and then his value to us and others drop?
He also comes with some pretty big baggage. We did have a good year this year, but I get the feeling there are more brain explosions not far away.
I guess for me, either way is a win win, I just wouldn't be gutted if we got silly money for him.
