Will Origi be loaned straight back to Lille as originally rumoured? These post-world cup signings always make me worry a little bit, but happy with that one nonetheless.

Looks like it. He was wanted as a starter elsewhere so Liverpool are in the box seat as Lille get the fee and another eyar out of him.

so...

how do we think Liverpool will line up for their first game of the season? some purchases to come, but based on current squad...

                     Mingolet

Flanagan   Sakho    Skrtel    Enrique

                     Gerrard

       Henderson            Lallana

 Coutinho                             Sterling

                     Sturridge

Subs: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Can, Allen, Lambert

I know Skrtel is a beast but I can't see him coming off the bench to replace himself!

Pretty sure Reina won't be there either.

There will be Markovic in the mix too.

Haha, yeah. I had Lovren in there as as 'coming in soon' and then thought twice about it but forgot the subs bench. Also had Markovic in the LAM positions with Coutinho playing alongside Henderson but can't see Lallana being on the bench.

Line-up is based on who will be there start of the season. Reina still struggling to find a home and he might not like it but he'd be a great #2. Any news on keepers we are tracking?

I'm also expecting a new left back. Don't think our shopping will be done yet!....hope not.

I have heard no recent news on goalies....someone cheap no doubt!

Wonder what the future holds for Aspas, Borini, Llori, Alberto, Suso!?

I know they are all back training. I'd be surprised to see Suso leave now that we need depth but Aspas will be heading back to Spain. Sunderland seem to have dropped their pursuit of Borini but expect bids from elsewhere.

I'd like to see Andre Wisdom and Jordan Ibe as part of the wider squad rather than loaned out again.

the money we have already spent isn't reliant on the Suarez money so anything from that sale can be pushed around. I think we'll have another go at signing Moreno for LB before the month is out.

And in other news , Ian Rush hasn't lost his scoring ability , so it seems.

Not sure if the above photo is genuine or not, it was on The Independent website though. It's definitely not the official Barcelona FC store by the looks of it.

No, it's not. It's a store that claims to be the unofficial home of Barca merchandise. Let's see if we can start a Sigmund to Barca rumour and bankrupt them.

Those boys were probably lucky to miss this morning!

In other rumours/ news. I read last night that we might be looking at Huntelaar as another back up striker. Think he is with a german team from memory Schalke? Must be getting pretty old. Seems like a gamble but if he is cheap, might be a different option.

He's nearly 30.

14 goals in 21 appearances last season (League, Cup, Domestic) not sure if he was injured as that doesn't seem like many games...

In total, 91 goals for Schalke in 139 games over the past 4 seasons.

Fairly good scoring record. I will take him...if he is cheap. Has to be cheap!

that's the problem, I'm not sure he is. Liverpool are also looking at Higuain from Napoli which makes good sense. If they are prepared to sell him, we would have a player + cash deal for them as they still retain in interest in Reina and also keen on Agger & Lucas.

24 goals in 44 (+11 assists) appearances for Napoli last season

For Real, he scored 122 in 264 (and 56 assists)

Yeah, injured for basically the first half of the season. Schalke had an excellent 2nd half of the season, his form one of the reasons for that.

It's a given that we need an out and out striker if (when) Suarez goes. all 3 of Sanchez, Higuain and Huntelaar have excellent stats regarding goals and assists. Not Suarez type figures but then, those performances only come along every other season from a player.

If Sturridge continues to improve and comes close to last years tally, plus another 20 goal a season striker + some defensive strengthening, I think we're in a good position. People keep saying "you can't replace Suarez's goals" and that's probably true, but in reality, we wouldn't need as many if we had a bit more grunt at the back. Johnson should be second fiddle to Flanno now, it's the left I'm really concerned about.

Jose not up to standard?  He's going to be like a new signing imo!

My sources tell me due to the ban, Barcelona are going to unveil him on a motorway. Apparently because he likes a hard shoulder.

Aspas signs with Sevilla. That signing turned out to be a bomb. He actually looked amazing last pre-season too.

Was looking forward to the fixture list being released because I'm going to be in Dublin in October and was hoping I could pop over and go to Anfield. On that note, who has experience of getting tickets to Liverpool games? Is it particularly tricky?

Hey Fitzy, do you have any sort of LFC membership? If so, tickets are on sale Thursday night (17/7) for the first half of the season. I think the general public release is after that......

I thought the fixtures still hadn't been confirmed? I.e. they haven't been rearranged to fit the tv schedule. Did I miss this?

Sweet, thanks. Unfortunately I've had to reschedule my flights so can no longer make the Hull game. Hoping to catch the midweek champions league fixture though, that'd be awesome.

Looks like Borini will move to Sunderland permanently. Good for all involved. I think he would've struggled to get much game time and Sunders will be pleased to have him. £14m too so good money for the sale!

And Remy is going to be signed for £8.5m, looks like decent depth, but we're paying him like a starter

Linds2 lives!!! Long time no see.

Pretty happy with Remy, may have to manage his attitude but can't be any worse than one Mr Suarez. Although no-one ever questioned his work ethic.

Feel a little sad for Borini. He worked really hard and things worked against him. Still.....pretty good money!
