If you're not signed up as an LFC Wellington member, drop me a line with your first and last name if you are planning on attending the cup final.

$5 entry with the proceeds going to charity.

Was listening on the radio on the way in to the pub. The commentator was saying dropping Jo Hart is a big mistake, he will save a few in the shoot out. Nightmare

So...we lost...gutted.

Pros:

  • Lucas at CB worked very well. Not sure he's a long term option but certainly something worth considering as he's important to the team off the field as well as on it.
  • Sturridge got through 120 minutes, quite an achievement
  • Origi goes from strength to strenght
  • Klopp made a cup final with a Rodgers team. Not a bad effort.

Cons:

  • Our touch in the last quarter is poor and too many air or dink passes that are hard to control OR passing behind a player slowing down our quick attacks.
  • Trying to run the ball into the goal box - someone shoot!!!
  • Mingolet - some great saves but ultimately the clanger will be remembered. He's one of the worst near post keepers I've seen.
  • Hendo and Can went missing. With a decent front 3, we need a creative midfield and we just don't have that.
  • That Coutinho penalty was the key moment for me...he scores and we're 2 - 0 up in the shootout putting pressure on their next takers - he misses and lets the pressure valve go.

Also, Milner should never take a corner, ever, ever again.

Dammit City, surely we could have come to some sort of arrangement where you let us win in the cup and we let you win in the league. At this point the cup would have mattered a lot more to us and the league matters a lot more to you. Way to miss the memo.

3 - 0 though, Arse, Spurs, Citeh lose and suddenly we're 6 points behind 4th and with a game in hand over United, Arsenal, West Ham and Stoke. Could we do it?

Moment of the game? Flanno clattering Ssssssssssterling and Hendo clapping him for doing it.

Have to agree re moment of game. Flano cut him in half  , the best thing was it was a beautifully timed tackle. The look on Hendo's face- priceless. $terling was so ineffectual he was off at half time. See you later , son. Geez , I hope they give Flano a new deal.

Can we do it? Yes. Will we? Not sure. Still too inconsistent. We really need to mother Palace to make the Citeh result relevant.

Brilliant goal but what I loved was his reaction to it. So cool and chilled out! I always enjoyed watching him play football. How he was treated by some fans is nothing short of disgusting. a much much much under-rated player.

Result! I know it's getting ahead of ourselves a bit, but how good would a Liverpool-Dortmund tie be at some point.

2 - 0 win should have been more but De Gea was immense - they will miss him next season BIG TIME.

Front three starting to build a real understanding and Lovren looks a different player from 12 months ago.

Ian Ayre to leave next year......surely that will be met with mixed reception. Some awful transfer dealings but good financial results.

The money stuff is relatively easy i'd say compared to someone with good knowledge of transfers and how things are done - they almost need to be seperate roles but don;t know enough about it to suggest someone (or a team) that would work.

From Andrew McGoff at LFC Wellington...

We were informed last night that our venue for morning games, The Pub, has been sold and that this Friday is their last day of trading. For those of you that don't know, it was about this time 2 years ago that we watched our first game as a Supporters Club, funnily enough against Manchester United. The Pub hosted us that day, as they did for the rest of the 13/14 season.

They have looked after us amazingly over these last 2 seasons. We are due to speak with The Pub today to assess our future with this venue, but rest assured, if it's not here we will find somewhere else to watch our morning games.

Evening/early hours games will remain at Four Kings. Hope to see a good turnout on Friday to farewell a group of people that have looked after us very well! YNWA

I'd suggest after they were dragged over the coals last week about the chanting, a small, awful group are trying to incite retaliation (Munich etc.) Nasty stuff.

Class as always from their fans. The "sit down you paedophile chant" came through loud and clear on TV when we played them the other week too. Pretty quick to complain when anyone mentions Munich of course.

Probably but interestingly , UEFA did nothing about chanting ( nor about Fellaini's elbowing of Can either but that's a different issue). I believe there was some retaliation last week .

Fudging Manc scum.

It would be easier with a match thread on this one.

I usually think the ManU fans are okay but the banner is out of order and already started chants of "sign on, sign on..." and "Park, park whever you may be..."

Anyway, on the match. It's a bit bloody scrappy. Though Mig was going to fudge it up with that cross and let Lingaaaaaaaard score.

Heavy touch then by Coutinhohohoho.

3-1 over two legs vs Scum

i'll take that any day of the week!

LvG is shot - what was he thinking with subs (and Schwein should have seen red for that chop outside the box)

I don't think running the 'money stuff' is easy, mate.

My point is that there are lot more people out there who can do the CFO, CEO role of a business (which is what any large club is) but won't have the Football knowledge to apply to the transfer policy.
