It's bizarre how Ashley Young has gone from the next big thing of english football to just another winger for an average side.

Maybe it's because everyone realised he has next to no left foot and just cuts in to shoot every time he's on the ball...

But still, if we were to sign him i wouldn't think it to be too much of a waste, since we lost Xabi we've been relying on Gerrard (and Torres when he comes deep) for our creative play, and Young  can play some absolutely killer balls some times.

Just hope the transfer market 'inflation' doesn't make us spend too much if Comolli, Hodgson et cet. have their hearts set on him. What was Houllier saying? like, he's worth 80 million euro or something? Unlikely.

I'd take young! He's a pretty handy winger! He's having a dip in form which could mean having to pay less $$'s!

Ronaldinho on free transfer and you don't want him? He is still good. Last season he was great carried our team for a couple of games but with Robinho and Ibra this season he can't make the team

Description of Newcastle vs Liverpool at the back of today's Dominion post sports liftout:
"Fans and football clubs rarely come as delusional as these two. Also fans, by most measures, each still believe itself to be among the elite of the English game, if not the world."

Yeah, I just think we could do better than Young. Plus he's English, so his price will be quadrupled anyway. Meh, I don't see Ronaldinho fitting into our system. Probs won't happen anyway, so no major.

Game day! Feeling good this morning. Suns shining, coffees on, a win to take us up to 6th.

Good line up too, Torres in and Babel on the bench. Konch instead of Aurelio.

Hate to think what we'd be like without Meireles at the moment. Where's Lucas? Only seen him once...

Maybe some Babel injection early on, even Cole to lift the tempo a bit.

Why do we look so average on the road? Still, as you say we've got a strong bench and have had a few chances.

Lucas getssome positive press for a change and he goes back to last years form!

We might as well field the rezzies away from home we play that vastly different. Roy just stands on the sidelines flapping his arms looking lost with no direction at all. I'm p'ssd. We blew yet another golden opportunity...

[QUOTE=Arsenal]That result had an air of inevitability about it.

So much this. Rofl, I nearly died when he did that. From laughter or embarassment, I don't know. Probably both.

Didn't get around to commenting on the game yesterday, but what can you say? sh*te. All round. Torres should've scored. Skrtel, wtf was he up to? Meireles was probably the only one who came out of that came with any credibility. but hey, we all know how Roy plays away from home, so no surprises there at all.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to watch Hodgson play away, hey!

Dammit. I couldn't keep away. I impulsively had to check in to see if Roy was still around. And he is...

Please take Roy back to the old peoples rest home,he looks very aged and his off sider Mickey Rooney(Sammy Lee should go with him. What about young Wilson Skirtel and the greek could noy handle Carroll and the young striker. The 3rd goal was sad Lucas should have closed him down.

Random factoid of amazement: I worked with him a number of years ago.  (Mickey, not Sammy!)

So Hughton and Allardyce get the boot for performing on par or above average and we're stuck with Roy after our worse start to a season since 1967.
