Arsenal really do have the most delusional fans.

Who do you support?

Three for me, and two for them.

The Arsenal physio said he had the lump the size of a golf ball on his leg upon inspection in the changing room.

Would you still boo him?

Three for me, and two for them.

I once had a lump the size of a golfball on my forehead after being hit with a cricket bat in full swing. It's not pleasant! And something like that would be bloody sore, I'd say he wouldn't be able to walk on it for a few hours. Even if he was almost fine the next day.

Except he was chasing after Ngog/ Torres 10 minutes later?

Yeah I think that was just mistimed, no real intent. Having said that, it was a red and I would expect that to be a red for every team with any ref tbh.
Was surpised that Wilshere got away with his two-footed lunge in the first half tbh. That was well dodgy

Yeah, this. Wasn't gonna bring it up...

I didn't see the game. Hah. I thought he went off. Well either way, he would have been in some pain.

Now that we've clubbed Cole to death we can focus on the next hurdle. Trabzonspor. Would be good to see a strong line up for the away leg but wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Poulsen got a run.

Oh and can we get rid of Babel now? We have Jova and Pacheco to cover? He can go do his rap thang...

Brad Jones confirmed. That must be the last of the homegrowns?
16 Aug 22:30 · edited 09 Sep 05:01
2.3m? Do you need him? I would have thought Cavalieri and then Itandje were adequate enough backups.

And I see Insua has lost his squad number (22) to Danny Wilson. Sign of his departure?
16 Aug 22:57 · edited 09 Sep 05:01
We need him as a homegrown player only. Not sure what will happen with Cavalieri and that prat Itandje got kicked for touch. I don't even think Insua knows what he's doing right now...

nearly as delusional as gross generalisations

2.3m... couldn't we just pick a keeper up off a free transfer.

I'll be interested to see if Mashca plays against Tranbonzpor. If he does then surely his value to other clubs drops?
17 Aug 02:43 · edited 09 Sep 05:01
Good point. And I don't think Poulsen can play as he's not yet listed in the 25 for Europa qualifiers...

Well if he did have a lump on his shin then he didn't get it from Cole.

I didn't want to comment until I'd had a good look at it. I've just watched it about 10 times and Cole never catches his shin. In fact neither one of Cole's boots makes contact with the player. What he does do is when the trailing leg comes through he rolls the guys ankle.

Malicious? No. Stupid? Totally. Red Card? Hard to be objective as a Reds fans say.
In perspective, no worse than Wilshires who did make contact with his studs. Still the ref was probably at a bad angle to make anything other than a red card decision.

Itandje doesn't even train with the club any more, i think he's literally not welcome at Melwood and Cavlieri has asked for a transfer so that he can try and be no.1 some where.

Insua is trying for a transfer to Genoa

Really? Wow didn't know that!

Itandje was being a tool at the Hillsborough service last year and got caught on camera fooling around.

I was listening to the 'matter of life or death' podcast last night and they were talking about a couple of rumours and issues.

They said liverpool are genuinely interested in Carlton Cole! I was a bit surprised about that but apparently it's the inside word. They weren't sure if it was a done deal but Liverpool are supposedly interested.

They also said that Insua had some crazy personal terms in his contract which is why he couldn't agree terms with Fiorentina. They didn't say what they were but I wonder if he will stay at Liverpool now
17 Aug 22:26 · edited 09 Sep 05:01
Heard the same about Insua, had some way out wages demands too.

Cole is interesting, and not really in a good way. Not sure what all the focus is on home players when we have enough at the moment.
With Ozil going to Madrid that'll put more pressure on VDV to move, I wonder if Purlsow will re-ignite some talk with him. He could be decent cover...

This same podcast had very negative thoughts about Ngog. I just can't decide but surely we need a backup striker. Van Der Vaart would be amazing

Yep, that's us. Both Hicks and Gillet have got the repo men coming after them and Liverpool is their last fortress. They need to scrap for every dollar they can get out of potential bidders.

Mascherano out of the Europa match with a "sore calf". I'd say it has more to do with a possible transfer and him not wanting to be cup tied which would lesson his value. I'm confident we won't need him for the match though.

I guess some good news is that they are unlikely to leave the club with any profit.

Haha sounds like what West Ham might do for Winston Reid when it comes to friendly time!

On another note Kop, check this article on VDV

If Masch leaves I can see Purslow picking that up again, although Roy seems to have quite a bit of say at the moment so maybe transfers are over to him now. At the end of the day it's down to the $$.

The Times are reporting that Kenny Huang has demanded a take it or leave it of the board. Too much messing around with potential/fake bids. Hopefully Broughton can balls up and accept the chinese bid putting a shaft straight up those yank's jacksies...

In the end though the yanks have none of the power in this situation. While I'm sure they hope they can negotiate a deal where they get something out of it, the power is with the banks and the buyers. The buyers can hold off knowing that the closer we get to October the more desperate the yanks will get which will reduce the price that they will accept. Meanwhile the banks, especially RBS as they hold the biggest interrest over LFC, will wait for the best deal for them to get their money back + any penalties owed. Either the club will end up in administration (which I'm sure nobody wants as it reduces the value of the club further) or they will simply take control of the club by calling in the debt, cutting the yanks out and selling to whoever gives them the best deal. If the club isn't sold by October I see this as the most likely scenario.

Good finish from Babel at the end of first half.

Cole's had a shocker of a week! Red card, speeding fine and missed penalty...

1-0

A bit disappointing but we got a goal prevented Traz from getting one away. It'll be a tough second leg.

Apparently Aqua is sick? What's the matter with this kid, how many matches has he missed now from the sniffles?
19 Aug 22:50 · edited 09 Sep 05:01
Ah, so he's not sick...

Roy - after match:
"I didn't want to use him tonight in case the loan goes through because for Aquilani it's very important this year that he plays regular football, every week as the number one man on the team sheet.
"I can't promise him that here so if a loan move to Italy could help him in that respect it might be good for all parties. It would certainly be what he needs, it would certainly protect the value of the player and when he does return to Liverpool no doubt we will see the Aquilani that we signed before he came here injured last year."

Waste of 20m...
19 Aug 22:57 · edited 09 Sep 05:01
Wait - so Aquilani is now being loaned out? Rafa wasn't exactly a master in the transfer market but that is an absolute shocker.

19 Aug 23:48 · edited 09 Sep 05:01
Wow I am super surprised by that. I was hoping for big things.....what a waste of money.
