Yeah Roney is trying too hard to score.  Once he gets one he will be fine, he's just desperate to get back on track.

Berba was very good this morning - I was very impressed.

N/castle were OK for the first 20 min but after the goal they were never in it.
Utd, although too good on the day did not play as well as I would expect later in the season.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

side question for you Leggy.
Does your support for Man U stem from having the "pleasure" of playing against them back in the day, or were you already a fan? Just interested. What a team they were.

I know, I know, its serious!

Who is Leggy?

Berba was good in this game, very good to see him playing with a smile on his dial - what a difference!

Anybody else think that Vidic has been given vice-captaincy as a stip in his new contract?

Crossed my mind, however I think it was more a reward. It's also important to develop other leaders - Giggsy and Nev aren't spring chickens and Rio has hardly been fit in the last 8 to 10 months.

He's also captain of his country (well was against us) and leads my example so I think Vida is an excellent choice.

My old man was a real Arsenal supporter, and when I was 5 or 6 (could have even been younger) I used to collect cards of all the top English teams. I really don't know why, but I picked United. So that is a bloody long time ago.I have always been a huge fan of Utd even when they got relegated. I like to think I am honest about football and if they lose and deserve to, then I say so.
Not only were they a great team, they still are.

Yeah agree Paulinho, however only thought it because every time either giggsy rio of nev werent starting last season Evra wore the captains band...and he played most of the game against the geordie bastards.

Rumour Of The Day
'When Manchester United made Beb the most improbable signing of the summer Sir Alex Ferguson argued there was no risk attached, explaining that "sometimes you just have to go with instinct". Yet a fortnight on, the striker's career at Old Trafford has got off to a false start, his performances in training deemed so poor he was not even considered for a reserve fixture last night' - The Guardian.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

I assume the reserve game in question was the Manchester Senior Cup. Man Utd had stacked their team with a lot of first team regulars looking for game time. Will start to worry if he doesnt get game time in the next month.

The Manchester City reserves are now to be known as the 'Elite Development Squad'.

Hello,

Rio Ferdinand's impending first team return-following Wednesday night's successful Reserves run-out, is a major boost for the Reds squad.

Ryan Giggs says that comebacks for Ferdinand, Anderson and Gary Neville means that, when the rest of the players return from international duty to resume club football with United, the Reds squad may well be at full strength.

United have made a steady start to the season, with comfortable home wins over newcastle and West Ham coming home either side of a hard-fought- if a little profligate 2-2 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

"The squad is looking really strong," says Giggs. "We've got Rio to come back in, Nev has'nt played yet, and Anderson is back too. So its looking really good".

United also registered 24 players with the Premier League ahead of the 1 September squad deadline, plus an additional 47 players under the age of 21-although admittedly only the likes of Rafael, Fabio, Smalling, Macheda, Amos, Obertan and Bebe are realistically expected to be regularly involved in the first team this season.

However, there is quality in numbers and that bodes well for the team this season even if it will be a big headache for Sir Alex-better that than having a headache over not having enough players.

Cheers

Hopefully the rumours that we are in negotiations with Ninis are true. We've missed out on anyone and everyone so far this year so Ninis at the age of 20 for 8 million pounds would be a steal. Similar player to Ozil iv heard.

I dunno about you, but I don't really care who Tiger slept with. I don't care who Terry slept with, and I don't really care who Rooney slept with.

Why do we have to have these long dragged out stories for so long. Who cares?

because for some unknown reason, the likes of news of the world and the sun etc are the biggest selling sh1t rags in the uk - despite the fact that 95% of people who read them all know there is more often than not little to no accuracy in the stuff they print.

I think the problem is Rooney was being held up as a role model, and it turns out his public persona was a complete sham. His atempts to hide this story with a super-injunction go to show that he was worried about his Nike deal more than anything else.

Permalink Permalink
over 15 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History
I dunno - he didn't go for the super-injunction in the end, even if it was going to fail it would have shown he tried to hide things.

Nike and EA Sports have both said they're not going anywhere.

It probably is up there with the Terry thing last year (as it seems there is not a lot of denying going on) - but as a United fan I will still be happy when he scores for us. Plus there won't be any of that Team Terry Team Bridge crap.

So far from my angle I have given this story a big 'meh'. Maybe its because we are hearing about so many sports stars doing these sort of numpty things.

Methinks Wazza's gonna be up for a little bit of stick this week at Goodison park!

Hopefully Berba's still gonna be in tip top form following a week off.

Yeah WTF is with that?! It could have looked really impressive....3 live games on 3 channels at the same time! (well for a period at least!)

Better watch out for that tho, this time last year when we played spurs away it said same thing, delayed by 45 mins or whatever, was checking the listing all day and night til i went to be just to make sure - and yet when i got up and turned it on it was live and i missed the first half FFS!
