Carrick would be in my starting line up. However he is NOT the best midfield player around.Yes he has scored some great goals, but he still gives too many balls away.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

That was bloody tragic to see how rubbish scholes looked when he came on. Amazing how bad Utd looked.

Typical. Man Utd lose and 20 of you are ready to gloat. But when they win there is hardley a ripple.
Leggy was right about Carrick.

It has still been a good season silverware wise:
  • Premier League
  • League Cup
  • World Club Cup
  • Charity Shield
Runners up Champions League, European Super Cup and Semi-Finalists FA Cup.

Though it has not been pretty for most of the last few months.

Good to see young talent coming through, hopefully we keep a few a little longer than Pique and Rossi (I still think we should have kept Rossi over Tevez, still have a buyout clause if SAF changes his mind).

Fair to say that every club in the world, except for Barca, would be happy with that.

Don't forget who won the Premier League. And don't forget the last time Liverpool last won anything... oh wait, already have.

Glad we were their, shame they gave up after Barcalona's goal. Anyway, since no team is going to win it three times in a row this allows us to win it next year. :D

There is no doubt that Baca was the best team-- by a mile. Taking nothing away from them- United were as bad as I have seen them all year. However, I thought before the game that Baca would win( as I think they are the best team in Europe) but when I saw the line-up that AF had picked, I said to my wife-- no chance.
Anderson & Giggs were as I predicted, as useful as tits on a bull. They hid all game.Created nothing.
I can't even think of a United player that performed.
Park, Giggs and Anderson should not have started and AF made the same mistake when he picked the team to play Everton. The formation he started and the players he put on were was the first mistake. The second mistake was that United kept giving the ball away.
His new name is Michael--- give the ball away -- Carrick.
Baca were great to watch and would have hammered any team they were playing, that is why I wanted Chelsea to beat them as I thought United would ahve a better chance.
Never mind, the EPL is not too bad.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

It did very much feel before the game that nothing was going to stop Barcelona's treble.

And I'd once again like to remind you that we are the best team in England, and the best in the world. (Club world Cup... haha, take that??)

Some of the stuff on here makes me laugh - "anytime we play a great side we lose???"

I thought Barca were fantastic yesterday, they played very well while we barely turned up. I can handle losing to a side that plays that much better than us - it wasn't a bad refereeing decision or a lucky set piece goal for a 1-0 win.

In terms of the players, yeah Carrick had a shocker (on the money Leggy mate!) and we lacked a decent tackler in the midfield (to at least try and get the ball off the Barca midfield). Interesting if Hargreaves had played (anyone remember him?) The defence was lousy for the two goals, which is disappointing for Rio and Nemanja. Interesting to know just how fit Rio was.

All in all a fantastic season - 4 trophies is quite enough for me. As a one-eyed United supporter any season where we win 4 more trophies than Liverpool or Man City has to be a good one. Though it is a shame we couldn't make it 5.

To win the Community Shield you actually need to have won something the year before in order to have a chance - hence your team's problems with that.

oh ok, you've said it twice and leggy said it at least once.
well, either way i dont know why you're repeating it?  its a completely invalid point, i have no idea as to why you're complaining about it.

Whenever any team loses, their thread is taken over by gloating fans of other teams who enjoy watching them lose - it's common sense, especially when its one of the big four.  for the same reason you guys take enjoyment when arsenal lose and come and have a gloat on our thread. you said it yourself, everyones ready to gloat when man utd lose - why would we come on your thread when you win and expose ourselves to your glory supporting gloating?
people like gloating, not being subjected to it.
