First yellow card should've been Rafael's free kick. Secons should never have been a yellow card, and most definitely not a second yellow card.

Refs lose us yet another game.

Bullsh*t bullsh*t bullsh*t.

Didn't see the first yellow, so can't comment on that.

The second was a clear yellow.
Rafael lashed out at the Bayern Player who'd tripped him, clear yellow, although the initial foul should have been given as a freekick.
You know we belong together...

I'm interested in seeing the argument as to why Rafael shouldn't get a yellow card for deliberately tripping up an opponent (and it was very obvious).

The second he wasn't even going to do anything until the Bayern players surrounded him, then the ref called Rafael back and YCed him. You can't give a second for that considering how their CM was tackling on a YC.

Not to mention he didn't grab his shirt, he held onto his arm for a second in the center of the park. Its nothing more than a foul.Michael2010-04-08 13:54:43

It was - it was a clear professional foul, attempting to slow down the opposition attack because the situation was starting to look a bit dicey. Rafael knew Ribery was gone away from him and heading into a very dangerous area, and pulled him down. Incredibly stupid thing to do when you're on the yellow, since that kind of thing gets carded pretty much all the time (other than in the A-league, it's one of my pet hates about the officiating here).

When I was watching it live (and not knowing Rafael had already been booked) I thought to myself, 'that has to be a yellow card'.el grapadura2010-04-08 15:35:30

I'm not sure why you're trying to shield yourself behind Oska's quote but, just in case you'd forgotten, here is what you said on the two yellow cards:

As I said, the first yellow card was a blatant, very obvious trip and most deserving of a yellow.

El G has covered off the second yellow card very nicely.

So all said and done, I think we can all agree Rafael deserved to be sent off and the ref was absolutely correct in his decision making.

I too only saw the second yellow but that one, to me at least, seemed definitely worth a yellow.

What a strike from Robben, though.  I don't like the guy, by any means, but that was just lovely.  At first I thought I'd rate it near Zidane's volley over Leverkusen - maybe that was a bit extreme but Robben timed it perfectly.

Zidane's was much more difficult. But yeah, great strike from Robben nonetheless.

I didn't see the game, but I agree. He had to go, the ref had no choice.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Poor Alex Ferguson his club which is 100's of millions in debt and spends crazy amounts of money on his squad cant beat a team that is running at a healthy profit and is very restricted with its salary and transfer payments!
The Dickhead should pull his head in!! The only thing typical about the Germans Pal is they win when it Matters! Lots of Love Kaiser

Congrats man you just told the most successful manager of all time how to run a club.

And considering the history of Bayern and United matches, I don't think "the only thing typical about Germans Pal is they win when it Matters!" is a very good statement.

And for the record the latest profit figures from united were 71.5m, greatly shrunk by the weakness of the pound.Michael2010-04-08 20:26:19

Recent History!, do your research before commenting on something you know nothing about

Better check those figures at the same time you explain the weakened pound theory:).

Head-to-head record:

Played: 8

Wins: Bayern 3, Man United 1, Draws 4

Goals: Bayern 10, Man United 8

Wins when it "really mattered" United 1 - Bayern 0.

And the weakened pound theory is correct, even if it isn't, its pretty far above your club's 4m Euro.

Kthnx bye.

Manchester United have announced a deal to sign striker Javier Hernandez from Mexican side Chivas for an undisclosed fee, reported to be around 6 million.

This is the guy that scored the first goal against the AW for Mexico in March. I thought he had a good game and looks talented. Next season might be Berbatov's last with Kiko and Wellbeck looking to get more game time, Diouf getting settled and now Hernandez pushing for a spot. Would like to see a classy midfield signing please (should have gotten Sneijder).

He might be a good signing. 21 years old, scored 21 goals this season in 27 games.

This weekend will decide the league.
I said from the first game that Chelsea would win and Utd would be in the top three. The only team that I was wrong with was Perennial strugglers Liverpool, as I picked them to be in the top three.
