On a side note good to see ex gunner bentley and larsson having good games in the weekend

I watched that game live, with my flatmate (who is a spurs fan (don't worry - he cops enough sh*t from me) and that was a screamer from larsson! great winning strike. Will see Bentleys brace tonight hopefully.

On to Arsenal.. Very stoked to see the boys bounce back from the Sevilla loss. Highlights for me were:

- Hleb in the 1st half was amazing, he is the pivot for the arsenal passing game and it seems impossible for anybody to get the ball of that guy!

-Ade had a great workrate, really enjoy watching him play. He does so well for someone that looks so un-co ordinated

-Flamini worked well to replace the void left by Cesc, important goal too.

-Defence is usually great, Agbonlahor and Youngs' pace was not as obvious when they were put up against our boys. Clichy is super fast, Sagna puts in great crosses - his one for the 2nd goal was hot. Kolo and Willie are working well together and was great to see us hold out after all of that pressure in the 2nd half.

Have a few unmentioned players but there were also great efforts around the park (rosicky and diarra were impressive in instances), top of the league by 5pts, game in hand, i can sleep easy.

oh, Eboue.. how could i forget. I sit on the fence with this guy. he has moments of brilliance, and creates chances, but do HATE his theatrics. Some times of the games he gets fouled - fair enough - but he does a great big swan dive!   What do you guys think about him?

Bring on Newcastle - they are looking down and out at the moment. Big Sam the next to go?

Yeah stoked ex-gooners Muamba,Larrson and current gooner Djourou taught Sp*rs a lesson this morning. Are t*ttenham, England in disguise? Or are England,t*ttneham in disguise?

Hleb was amazing first half against the Villa, will hopefully be fit for Thursday mornings game up at St James Park.Massive next month playing Saturday,Wednesday,Saturday every week for the next 4.....Arsene Knows

Yeah I have a mixed view of Eboue too. He works really well with Sagna and has a good cross on him. But he simulates a lot and can't shoot to save himself.

He's a likeable clown imo.

Yeah Eboue defintely shows the good and the bad.Class touches  like the backheel to set up the Seville goal last week, mixed with his constant rolling (and possible elbow on the Villa left back).

Not sure what will happen when RVP is fit to partner Adebayor up front in a 4-4-2.....Rosicky-Fabregas-Flamini-Hleb in midfield?

Hoping Wenger does the strengthen the centre defence in January with Toure heading to the African Nations Cup,Djourou coming back in but could do with another older head...or will Arsene pluck another Tony Adams out of the wilderness. That young Norwegian CB,Nordweit???

That's a hefty midfield injury list.

Fortunately we have so many.

It seems unlikely that RvP will be back for Chelsea either.

Yeah diarra and deneilson will REALLY need to step up if selected. Wonder if silva will get the nod, he's been pretty average in the games he's come on. this game will be a big test  for the boys

This is gonna be a tough game.

Theo might get a start with Hleb out

Hmmm it could well be very tough but then again if we get an early goal or two we could rip them to shreads i mean it's no secret Newcastle have been dreadful recently both home and away so it could really go either way. Looking forward to it though.

Three for me, and two for them.

Not sure why Newcastle have been so awful lately, they've got some very useful players. Also Big Sam used to do well against us at Bolton.

Martins is quality, but Gallas and Toure will take care of him.

I thought Newcastle would be up with the top-of-the-rest for sure. But then they always under-perform.

A good morning to be working from home.

read this on a couple of websites Chelski are ready to bid 12m for Arsenal's third-choice striker Nicklas Bendtner. Dont know how true this is but $12m doesnt sounds bad but he could go on to be a legend. Birmingham paid Arsenal 1m to take Johan Djourou on loan for the first half of this season WOW wenger is really a good businessman

4 mins: GOAL ADEBAYOR - A stunning finish. The cross from the right by Emmanuel Eboue is chested down by the striker who then volleys beyond Given

Our midfield were absolutely awful tonight, especially Gilberto and Rosicky.

The only positives were Almunia and Ade's goal.

Still they should have been a man down twice towards the end there but the ref was weak.

Oh well, 4 point lead at the top.

Eduardo looks like he hasnt adapted yet.Sagna, one of the best buys of year.

The ref was a complete c*nt at the end,2 crucial decisions that he was too weak to call.Adebayor was in on both occasions, would have been given at the Emirates.

Oh well, 4 points clear WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE.
The ch*lski and sp*rs among others over the coming weeks, cant wait

A point away at Newcastle with the amount of injuries we had really isn't too bad.

4 points clear now

Newcastle did have injuries too though, i counted 7 players out due to injury. Ref was a bit average too though didn't help matters

Geez, 1-1 aye. Feel rather disappointed at the moment, especially given the clear free kicks we should of had at the end there ARRRGHHH!!!

Thought Diarra was our mom felt he was superb tonight battled hard for the ball at all times and came out on top of most 50/50 challenges, also displayed a relatively nice array of passing.

Eduardo needs to step it up big time once again he was rubbish tonight, hopefully he will shine through soon enough because with the injuries we are having right now we need him to.

Boro next i have a feeling that won't be so easy either but i think we will still win it i will say 2-0.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yeah kinda gutted thought we could have had this game, the newcastle goal came from a eduardo mistake as well, is it just me or does he not seem too interested??? Maybe a game in the reserves will get his confidence back, . Rosciky was a bit average too needed him to step tonight. Diarra had some really nice touches, helb or csec would have made the difference tonite. Glad you guys thought that ref was sh*te as well i thought i just had my gunners glasses on LOL

Yeah ref is still doing my head in. Agree with Diarra being our MOM the amount of 50/50 and 40/60 challenges he won was amazing, battled very well. As per usual though I think you have to give Eduardo at least 6 months to settle in,possibly a season.
Look forward to seeing more of Bendtner over the next month

newcastle played one of the best games of their season so arsenal did quite well to get a point.

hearing rumours of selling bendtner which would be extremely dissappointing, he has looked really good this year so far, especially against wigan.

I doubt Bendtner will be going anywhere tbh.

And why would he go to Chelsea. They've got plenty of strikers
Permalink Permalink
over 18 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
They  (chelski) need another striker in the next transfer window as Drogba needs surgery and will be gone for a month from that + cup duty for african nations tournament, and Sheva is just sh*t.

What about Pizzaro and Kalou?

And even if they do want a striker, they won't buy someone young. They'll make a big name, big money signing, cos thats what they do
Permalink Permalink
over 18 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Kalou is going to the African Cup of Nations aswell, and Pizzaro doesnt look like he's about to become a regular goal scorer for them. The 2 names i have read being linked with a move are Anelka and Vagner Love from Spartak Moscow. Hopefully they dont sign anyone and there hole season gets flushed down the toilet after we thump them next weekend.
