Yeah i read somewhere Fellaini wants 100k.....Fellaini would be ideal just for his sheer size as well. i know it would never happen but de rossi would be awesome

He seems to be scoring for fun doesn't he
I'm guessing we'll get Higuain and that'll be it up top. We'll have Higuain, Giroud and Sanogo as our top 3 strikers in that order, with Theo and Poldi able to fill in if we have an injury crisis.

Will Podolski be happy playing out wide consistantly?
I feel that wide left should be poldi's position, he creates and scores a lot from there, just need to eliminate those odd games where he seems to go missing a bit. Definitely can't see him or theo being played up top too much next season unless we get a lot of injuries.
Arsene will have some interesting selection dilemmas this season. Perhaps Cazorla is the one player that makes things difficult - we seemed to be more effective when he was wide and wilshere or rosicky played in the attacking midfield role. But if Cazorla plays wide, then we need to leave out theo or poldi, which I don't like doing. Conundrums...
Making some assumptions on signings (Higuain/Cesar sound likely, Fellaini/Williams less so but heavily rumoured), I perhaps would look at us having these "A" and "B" teams available next season;
Cesar
Sagna-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Gibbs
Arteta-Wilshere
Walcott-Cazorla-Podolski
Higauin
Szczesny
Jenkinson-Williams(?)-Vermaelen-Monreal
Fellaini(?)-Ramsey
Chamberlain-Rosicky-Gervinho
Giroud
Plus:
Sanogo
Coquelin
Frimpong
Diaby
Miyaichi
Mannoe gone so you might be on the money about Ceser Paul
Coquelin and Frimpong need a chance to have a decent run I reckon
If Felliani comes in that will limit their time considerably.
looking at Paul's list there is some competition for places, which is encouraging but looking at the "totality" of the squad I think we still are in the position where we are the single club most dependant on having an in-form and 100% fit First XI. 95% you can't win the First Grade title starting from this position.
IMO there is 4 positions we would genuinely need an "A team" player.
E's Flat Ah's Flat Too
If we do fork out 22million for fellani i would be expecting him to start, i would really like to see ox do more this season as well. I think getting a dmf will free up arteta to play CAM to give santi a break as well. I have to say on the form the Ramsey finished on last season he will would be ahead of jacky boy in the pecking order

Reports (well, one) coming out of Argentina the Higuain deal is doneski.
I saw two things today that were interesting. Firstly we're having a 3m dig at Gareth Barry. As F365 put it not a bad option so long as it's not the expense of Fellaini. Secondly we had a bid for Grenier of Lyon confirmed we'd had a bid rebuffed for him. He seems more of an attacking midfielder, so I'm not sure he is the one we want. However a good replacement for Rosicky/Arteta when they retire/break.

I think we're trying to sell him but he won't take that much of a pay-cut. He's another one Arsene has lost faith in but is still commanding a decent wage. However according to him he has taken a small pay cut to play at Hamburg this season, so it must be the best financial deal for us. If this is his last contracted year he'll be released at the end of it. There's no coming back.
No doubt an amazing player, signing would be a good statement of intent etc etc, but the fact that's he's a cheating diving biting racist Twit makes it a bit sour in the mouth. I know you love him el pistolero and you'll defend him to the death but my mind won't be changed, so I'll fire a pre-emptive "agree to disagree" strike right now lol :)
I'm also a bit confused by all these rumours. Higuain is all but done, we've got Giroud and we've signed Sanogo, surely we aren't after any more strikers, yet we keep hearing these rumours around the likes of rooney, torres, suarez etc. I do wonder how much of it is agent bullsh*t.
Also had a thought - with all these rumours over suarez to madrid, perhaps we planted this info just to get Madrid moving on the higuain sale? They might be motivated to sort their sh*t if there was a threat we'd take suarez ahead of them. All a bit 007 I guess but you never know what goes on
Bendtner has turned from 5 options for a permanent move to a loan that looks off because of high wage demands....
Chamakh, Park, Santos are luke warm to cold too
Gee it is hard when we try and offload players, it is almost like jekyll and hyde where we either can't keep the ones we want and the oens we don't just run their contracts down.
rumours that park's contract has been cancelled by mutual consent. He isn't at pre-season training but chamakh is.
Sanogo got shirt no.22, and diaby has been re-assigned to shirt no.24
makes sense i guess
I can't stand the buttons done up though, I'm sure I'll love it when they're un-done!
Apparently we're looking to get a 3 year extension to Wengers deal. And wrap up Higuian this week. And we're still chasing Fellaini. This could be a very good week.
The Higuain deal just keeps us all on the edge of the seat.
Still can't tell if Fellaini himself wants to move to Arsenal or whether his thinking is that he would hold off for a Real Madrid or Barcelona, whether or not he is absolute top drawer is another matter.....
Would be stoked if Wenger's extension is sorted early so the squad/potential signings know what the plan is.
So confirmed we did make a bid for suarez - 30mil pounds - but it was rejected
Interesting.
Smoking out Real Madrid? Or are we legitimately after both of them?

Possibly a statement of intent that we can purchase some of the best talent in the league for our own, instead of being a feeder club?
Where was it confirmed?
When I say confirmed, just saying that on the basis that ESPNfc and the Guardian are reporting it. Usually those two won't report it unless it 99% actually happened.
Funny too, because Real Madrid (Perez) have now claimed that we are yet to lodge a bid for Higuain.
Gomez has signed for Fiorentina, so Jovetic probably now freed up for negotiation? Wonder if we're still interested in him
Perez also saying they want to keep Higuain (as he would). Here we fudgeing go again.

Arsene seemed keen to get a signing on board before their tour to Asia. This would mean this is the week to try and wrap things up as next Sunday is their first game.
I imagine that the Suarez thing is us forcing RM's hand into buying him, to release Higuain to us. I would still much prefer Higuain to Jovetic.

Without being too close to it, think Higuain is more what you need? A boss striker who just scores goals for fun, rather than Jovetic who apparently drops deeper, more of a playmaker etc?
I really think Higuain would be a great signing for you lot.
