Apparently had a pretty average, below-standards game for Germany but still had a 99% pass success rate and 4 important passes.

It was an ok game from Oezil, close to a normal sort of game where he may not stamp his authority on the game but will always be dangerous. The movement of the front four for Germany is fantastic, Reus is a lot better fit than Podolski. Also, Germany has a lot of talent to push Oezil, wouldn't say he is guaranteed first choice, with Kroos and Goetze most likely to push him (Kroos plays really well for Germany in that roll) as well as options in Mueller and even Gundogan.

Are we talkin' bout the nazi vid or the sack tackle in Uber's sig?

Meh, who cares, both are awesome!

Yea agreed on arteta/ramsey over wilshere in our strongest eleven right now, but long term I think I see wilshere and ramsey both anchoring midfield together as they mature, with Ozil in front of them. I'm not sure we need to carry a defensive midfielder anymore really, just two 'box to box' types that communicate well and cover when the other is upfield. Problem is they're both not quite as good as Arteta when it comes to positional awareness on defence. Hopefully that will improve with age - Ramsey seems to be picking it up well at least. Silver lining is that we play plenty of games and we're never fully fit, so there should be plenty of minutes to go round anyway.

Found this gem this morn;

"Simon Pretswell, UKSoccershop.com's managing director, commented on the figures after it was clear that Ozil was selling far more Arsenal shirts than Bale was Real Madrid shirts. 'Leaving aside the debate over Bale's sporting merits, a large part of any major transfer is often the commercial advantages associated with the signing of the player.' 'In the case of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and previous stars such as David Beckham, it is almost a license to print money for the club as shirt sales and other merchandising goes through the roof.' 'While it would be untrue to say there is not an interest in Bale shirts, our sales data shows he is being significantly outsold by Mesut Ozil and is not attracting the same level of attention generated by Neymar when he transferred to Barcelona earlier in the summer.' 'Bale's talents as a footballer are undoubted, but he has never been one of our bestselling Premiership players, with supporters preferring the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Steven Gerrard and even Fernando Torres.' "

oh and it's worth mentioning that the sack tackle in uber's sig actually led directly to Giroud's goal in case anyone didnt remember. I was p*ssed off they didn't start from that point in the highlights show as it really was a perfect piece of counter-attacking. They just skipped to when Rosicky receives it and plays walcott in behind.

Another funny factor in the Ozil purchase - we sold Gervinho to Roma, so they could sell Lamela to Spurs, so they could sell Bale to Madrid, so they could sell Ozil to us.

I'm sure it's nonsense but I want to believe it anyway. Cool to think that Ozil deal was done before the Bale deal and that Real Madrid and Arsenal together outwitted Spurs / Levy - who thought they were being so clever.

I am going to miss the Sunderland game. I'm devastated I will miss Ozil's debut. Great purchase.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago Marica's agent was quoted as saying he is negotiating, he was again yesterday saying a deal is close.

Usually a agent spouting this stuff leads to nothing, gut feel is there is something to this one, time will tell...

That agent has been talking sh*t linking that marica with us for months, he's just trying to get someone else to sign him by using our name

Reckon he'll sign for Westham - probably the target all along

monitoring the internationals, rosicky injured by the looks, subbed off at 38 mins

edit: reported as a thigh strain, but walked off without limping, so hopefully not serious

should be ok with ozil coming in to his spot and flamini there for midfield depth

walcott/wilshere both subbed off in the england game, no injuries, yusss tick them off

Poldi not involved in the german game. Mertesacker and Ozil have both scored in that one.

You'd think so with rosicky now out

Although we could play poldi left and santi in the hole if arsene wants ozil to acclimatise a bit first

Poldi is out injured for another 8 weeks or so, so I would've been surprised to see him play!

Rumours from Melbourne Victory insiders that Ciprian Marica was offered to Ange for a pretty affordable price and he turned him down.

Seems like he's being shipped everywhere.

striker released from Schalke, probably one of the only half-decent-ish free agents going around so he's getting linked with everywhere. Average scoring record but has played at some decent clubs;

Found this too, arsene as a player back in the day lol

I think we would have been better to ensure we kept Chamakah as back up, rather than sign Marica...if we sign him.

Bendtner? better than both of them if arsene can sort his head out?

Question marks over Wilshere and Walcott's fitness too, we're really scraping the barrel right now. Thankfully TV5 should now be fit so our backline is well stocked at least.

Bendtner is injured.

Wilshere, Walcott, Sanogo and Rosicky all in doubt. Zelalem out for 8 weeks. Midfield depth aint lookin so great now!

Could be Flamini-Ozil-Cazorla in the middle with Walcott and ??? out wide - maybe Gnabry will get his chance.

I'd suggest against Sunderland we'd be more likely to see Flamini - Frimpong - Ozil, with Cazorla - Giroud - Walcott going on.

Better to beef up that midfield.

Ramsey?
re: bendtner: i didnt mean for this week - just that he could be a better option for the season than this marica chap.

However... there is some dispute over his current status. General consensus from most blogs/websites I've read (with no sources offered though) was that he had some off-season surgery and is on the way back to fitness. But just yesterday the Danish press have been reporting that he will be on the bench this weekend... so I've no idea

I think for this weekend we'll see;

                    Szczesny
Sagna-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Gibbs
               Ramsey-Flamini
           Walcott-Ozil-Cazorla
                      Giroud
No idea about our subs - Walcott, Ramsey and Giroud will get tired given their recent hit-outs, but we've got no one to come on in the front 3 really. Wilshere will probably relieve Ramsey in the 2nd half but our other options are pretty thin.

Bloody hell, that's nuts!
If we loaned Coquellin and hung onto Frimpong that's a strong side the boss see's him getting game time. No reason not to play him, he's got a lot of potential. Just need him to not go too mental.

I think he's a nutter, personally. A funny one - but a nutter all the same. Wont make it here.
