When I think LB I think we're missing a Bellerin. Monreal is getting older & Gibbs is often injured. Would be good to have an 18/19 year old prodigy to be giving time to work his way up. Although I caveat that with the fact that Bellerin is a freak & I'd not expect them to be so dominant as him.

David Dein in that picture LOL how much black dye on that bonce!

What is Ornstein on SkinnyB, I'd say he's way off the mark there... the cech noise is way too loud for something not to be going on there, and a back-up LB to Gibbs and Monreal? Seems odd

Yeah the Cech one could still fizzle out with how these things go, but gee the LB one was funny, we could start collecting them!

Maureen is such a wankspanner that I am still highly sceptical of him allowing the Cech-monster to join us.  And I would be very surprised if it happened in June or July.

How old is Leggy?  Is he 12 or 72?

Daily Mail think Cech is done. Arsenal are usually a week behind in announcing though!

Cech has just tweeted that nothing is done yet. But surely soon, right...?

I don't think Cech was our most needed signing, but it'd be a great get - mostly because Mourinho doesn't want him to leave. :D

So who will be leaving if he signs - Sneezy or Ospina? I hope Ospina leaves, but I feel like he's more willing to sit on the bench.

Think it was reported somewhere that Ospina is off provided we get cech.

Ospina will go. I heard a rumour that Fenerbahce were already lining up to take him for 4 million. I'll be more than happy to get Cech. Shame about his age. Apart from Mad Jens, we have never really replaced David Seaman.

Nothing's official yet but it's being reported like it's done! Found this amusing though https://vine.co/v/e5KlWKnUbIq

Turned on Breakfast for a few minutes this morning to see the weather and in their sport headlines scrolling along the bottom of the screen one said "after a two year wait Arsenal have just confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Petr Cech." Let out a cheer and punched the air then grabbed my phone to get on arsenal.com to find we haven't.

I'm actually disappointed by the number of news outlets saying it's a done deal. It's not a done deal until the player or club announces it, end of story. In the modern day of writing headlines for clicks it's becoming clearer the last shred of credibility news outlets have has disappeared.

I'm not surprised by this, but I am disappointed. Given Wenger's quotes about him I thought he might have made a move. Although I think you've all done a good job convincing me that another CDM is more important (still) than a striker.

Martinez looks good but I'm not sure that's good value, considering he's nearly 29 and yet to play in a european league outside of Portugal.

Benteke would be a better option for only a little bit more cash.

But if Walcott re-signs then we really have no need in that position I don't think. Walcott, Giroud, Welbeck, 3 options, all different, good variation in the squad. Some will disagree, but for me that's enough striking quality to win a title considering they'd be completely surrounded by proven world class players in Ozil, Sanchez, Cazorla and arguably Ramsey.

Scheiderlin says he will complete a move to a new club in the coming days. Are we still in the hunt for this cat? If so we are going about with beautiful stealth.

Just remember the Higuain 'transfer' two seasons ago, every news outlet had him signing 'tomorrow' everyday for about 6 weeks straight.

Cech is bringing back these memories.......

Luiz Gustavo too.

Definitely not liking this lengthy wait.

edit: Why is it autocorrecting lenghty?

Three for me, and two for them.

Either laugh or cry with this one:

Real Madrid are preparing to make a £21m bid for Arsenal defenderLaurent Koscielny to replace Sergio Ramos, according to reports in Spain.

The Independent reported this morning that Manchester United have tabled a £30m+ bid for the Madrid man and it seems they are keeping tabs on potential replacements.

For the first time in ages a high profile transfer appears to have a bit of mystery about it... if it's going to be in a matter of days I'm really surprised no one seems to know who's buying him.

Or perhaps his agent instructed him to say this because he's been told he can leave and there's no bids yet ;)

According to this

http://arsenal-mania.com/arsenal-drops-three-massi...

The club shop are refusing to print Podolski and Ospina names/numbers, and are also advising customers not to purchase Szczesny 1 kits.

Persumably Poldi/Ospina gone, Cech taking no.1 and Szczesny getting a new number.

And yet when you go on the club shop on arsenal.com you are able to order shirts with all those names printed.

21m for Kosc? You're dreaming. He's just signed a long term deal & is at his best, why the heck would we allow him to leave for that? If PSG reckon David Luiz is worth 50m, I look forward to seeing Real get their bidding right.

Ype, maybe 3 years ago we would take that; not anymore. Fudge off Real.

My slightly adjusted preferences, would prefer players in their best spots (bar Walcott the winger).

The Cech deal may feel like it's taking an age but I guess that's just the internet era for you. The window hasn't even actually opened yet. In the past you wouldn't have known anything was going on until the signing was announced.
