Anybody that thinks that Dura is a born again Kiwi is dreaming. Came to NZ in 2008 and has property here. Owns property in Wellington and has a child born here.

So most of his life is spent in Australia and now he 'feels like a Kiwi'.

Give me a break. The only reason he wants to become a 'Kiwi' is so  he can play International football. He will look pretty stupid if FIFA reject his application to play for NZ when he has already been selected for the Socceroos (although he was only on the bench)

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Yep about as Kiwi as Wee Mac and Smith but who is splitting hairs.Dont have any problem with it at all.At least most of the team sound like Kiwis not like the bad old days.

He's lived here longer than McGlinchey by a long way and there would be grounds for an appeal if FIFA rejected.

That doesn't count for eligibility purposes.

The team of 1982 were mainly displaced Brits of one kind or another, rather than actual Kiwis.

Kiwi and Aussie borders have always been fairly fluid Leggy, going back to the beginning. At the moment anyone who actually wants to live in NZ and work is a good start! I mean lets not ask how Kiwi Smeltz is or how Aussie Archie Thompson is...If he wants to be here, he's got some fair reasons. How else do you define a Kiwi? We only really go back at most 7 or 8 generations on the Pakeha side and most of us a lot less than that.

It is not a question of trying to be positive or negative AJ.  It is just my opinion.
I might well ask if you have posted anything intelligent?

Durante one step closer to All Whites honours

By: Matt Brown | Latest Football News | Tuesday March 5 2013 6:03

A significant step towards the All Whites for Andrew Durante.

Having satisfied the requirements for New Zealand citizenship, the Australian-born Wellington Phoenix skipper will take part in a ceremony this morning at 10am.

"And then once that's done I apply for my passport and it takes I think five to 10 days to get the passport and then New Zealand Football will send the citizenship certificate to FIFA and then see what happens."

It's likely Durante will be included in the All Whites squad to face New Caledonia and the Solomon Islands in World Cup qualifiers later this month.

"The Yellow Fever fans are all saying can't wait to see you here March 22 so it's been really nice the support and look, once I get my passport and I'm eligible then if Ricki chooses me to play then fantastic."

Durante's confident he's followed the process required to represent New Zealand.

"From all reports I can't see FIFA not allowing it, from reports from New Zealand Football, so hopefully all the paperwork and everything ticks off and I'll be involved in some capacity in the March games."

The All Whites play World Cup qualifiers against New Caledonia in Dunedin on March 22 and the Solomon Islands in Honiara four days later.

Final hurdle for Dura:

1. Please say the following: "six", "fish and chips", "kia ora", "churr"

2. Would you put your cans in a chilly bin or would you rather put your tinnies  in an esky?

3. Russel Crowe - Kiwi Bloke or Rabbitoh loving Ocker? (think carefully about this answer)

4. What's your game: wog ball or poof ball?

5. Vince Grella - bonza or twunt?

6. John Clarke - biting Aussie satirist or a bit of a dagg?

Answers on the back of a paua shell (legal size) and faxed to FIFA ASAP please.
