Wood just won and scored a penalty to equalise 1-1 after 33 minutes

Subbed off after 62 minutes following a red card to Ben Gibson (second yellow) and the ensuing penalty. 3-1 behind. Wood’s  replacement is a defender in Tarkowski, presumably to stop a complete disaster.

Terrible defensive performance from Burnley. Could have conceded 2-3 more at least

On bench for 2nd leg at Turf Moor verus Olympiakos.

Out of interest Themi's Giannina play Olympiakos in the Greek League this weekend.

Brought on at 75 mins with Burnley needing 2 goals (score 0-0).

There are 2 goals, but unfortunately it's a 1-1 scoreline.

Burnley out of Europe, which is a good thing according to Big Sam.

looking a bit lonely at the moment

McNeil with some ordinary delivery too from a couple of good positions

Going about how you'd expect with NZ (plus some Brits, Scandis and Irish) against France, Belgium, a Chilean and a few better Brits.

Subbed after 84 mins as Burnley go down 2-0.

2nd last on the table. Hammers last.

A new locally-produced weekly football show on  the Duke channel tonight called "TVNZ Football Club" promises:

"Jake Tame and guests dissect the week's football action in the Premier League, Europe and wherever Kiwis lace up their boots ."

On at 12.30 am tonight and every Thursday night.

Only 15 minutes but still sounds like  a good idea to give some coverage to leagues Kiwis are playing in.

Typical NZ scheduling to put it on after midnight though when only insomniacs and random drunks will see it.

That's a great idea, can't believe they have it on so late, you'd think they could squeeze in a 15 minute show at a better time. Jack Tame is decent, he'll do a good job with it.

I guess it'll go on the TVNZ On Demand.

Dyche finally decides to try starting with two big men up front, however in a completely mystifying move he ignores that partnership that brought Burnley over a goal a game as they climbed up the ladder in the second half of last season and instead has Vokes and Barnes up front with Wood on the bench. I honestly can't get my head around how he hasnt' tried reverting back to something that everyone knows works very well.

Wood gets on for last 20 mins as Burnley go down 1-0 at Wolves.

Really struggling now and only above Hammers on the table.

Wood came off the bench after 60 minutes in a 4-0 win over Bournemouth who have been on a good run. Wood didn’t have have much involvement. 2-0 when he came on. Good for Burnley, maybe not so good for Wood.

Plays 81 mins before being subbed, as Burnley are knocked out of League Cup 2-1 by Burton.

Burton’s winner at 83 mins.

Burnley win 2-1 at Cardiff.

Wood comes off the bench to replace Vydra after 72 mins. Just prior Vokes had scored their 2nd goal to put them up 2-0.

Yeah it's odd. I watched basically every minute he played last season and he was good, performed like a solid mid-level EPL striker. Was good in the air, held up the ball well, had a decent turn of pace and was always in the right place at the right time. His partnership with Barnes after coming back from injury in the second half of the season was lethal.

This season he just looks lost, I'm not sure what Dyche is up to with his rotation of strikers this season - while it worked vs Cardiff they scored with literally their only two shots on target (out of 3 shots total), that isn't going to work all season long. Though you also have to feel for Wood's partner in crime Barnes, who spent the whole game on the bench vs Cardiff after scoring a double in the previous game vs Bournemouth.

Off the bench at 61 mins for Barnes in a 1-1 draw verus Huddersfield.

Burnley were up 1-0 when he was brought on. Vokes at 20 mins with Claret’s goal.

Definitely like the Woodsman even more knowing that his girlfriend is a fellow pro player, rather than a model/pop star/soapie actress.

And good on him for supporting the FFs re equal pay etc. I don't see him calling his GF, his missus - christ I hate that anarchic word.

Gets 30 mins off the bench in a 5-0 hiding from Man City.

Burnley already were 3-0 down when Wood introduced.

Burnley started the game with 9 UK/Irish players. Man City with one.

Simply because they appear more ‘down to earth’.

Also there is no way on earth, I’d  call the likes of Cheryl Cole or Victoria Beckham a musician!!

Finishes as a 4-0 drubbing. Ain’t happening for Wood or Burnley so far this EPL campaign.

That defence so impressive last season is leaking goals, esp against the bigger clubs.

Dyche should start the exact same team that got them through to Europe last season, that would probably help. Also for whatever reason with almost exactly the same defense but Hart in goal, things have fallen apart... hmmm...

Finally off the mark in the league with a 77th minute header. Burnley go on to concede two more to lose away to West Ham however.

I knew Wood was in a rut but I had no idea how poorly the entire team's forwards are going. No player has scored more than two all season.
