Injured?  Not in squad at all

Manager said after the campaign he had a tight hamstring, I thought it was cramp when he went off in that last league game, and was on the bench unused for the cup game. Very rare he gets injured.

No one central point for this, but here's a mashup of clips of kiwis in their (new) clubs the last few weeks going into the season that Chris Wood will kick off soon with Nottingham Forest.

The team Captain was playing at LWB. I saw Libby get off the bus and thought he might've been an unused sub.  I fell alseep just before WBA scored their 3rd and I woke up when Wrexham scored their 2nd, so I thought it was 2-2. Oh well, crap happens. I hope they sort it out, they have been a bit unlucky, but I do fail to see how Ward is a better Goalie than their other guy.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

20th December is the first Welsh derby, Libby verus Marko matchup.

Ward is an excellent keeper. Guessing he had a bad game?

Be interesting to see if he’s in the cup team on Wednesday

2-2 draw, Wrexham & Sheffield Wednesday.
Baze did pick 3 LBs, so must be some concern Libby's hammy won't be right in time for the Socceroos games.

Still not in the team

Cacace in the starting line up.

Was Cacace playing as a CM??? That's where the Google line up has him positioned

On the right side too - these lineups are usually pretty accurate.

Libby 77 mins (1-0) in a 2-0 win.
His replacement McClean with the assist for the 2nd goal.

Crocombe watches it all from the pine.
30 Aug 23:09
McClean has had a great start to the year. Libby under a bit of pressure to keep his spot??
30 Aug 23:35
McClean is 36, and that's old for the up & down full back role.
Championship season is 46 game slog.

They will likely both get plenty of mins. Will help keep Libby a bit fresher for the WC next year.

Niche Cache. The stats certainly show Wrexham are better defensively with Libby on the park.

Libby got asked in that post-game interview about heading off for the international window with New Zealand which is ironic because there was an Athletic article the following day which claimed the following...

The Athletic: “Moore will be away with Wales during the international break. But Ward, after suffering a concussion and an injured elbow, will remain behind with Nathan Broadhead, while Cacace is also expected to stay in the UK despite being called up by New Zealand for the double-header against Australia.”

Those folks know their stuff. Cacace did say he got through the game injury free but the cautious decision was still made to leave him in Wales to recuperate, withdrawing him from the Soccer Ashes series. Fair enough. If anything was going to re-aggravate the pesky hammy then it was two long haul flights with a pair of internationals in between. Cacace is the least-rotated All Whites player of the current era having only missed one game since Darren Bazeley took over and that was because of suspension. Gives a rare opportunity for Francis De Vries and James McGarry to show what they can do in his absence.

Here’s a statistic:
  • 0 goals conceded in 162 mins with Cacace

  • 7 goals conceded in 198 mins without Cacace in the Championship

  • 12 goals conceded in 378 mins w/o Cacace including the EFL Cup games

Being in Italy must be good for the health!

But watching him play he hit two crosses, the second which was close to scoring after an intelligent Hardie run.

If he gets the chance to run at his marker too, I think Hardie and Moore will be racking up Cacace assists soon.

Here’s hoping. 🤞

I have to be honest, I thought Wrexham were a bit route one and that if the Nix played that way there’d be unhappy fans.

Me and a few other Kiwis were at the game (surrounded by fascist Millwall fans and with a packed out away section nearby).  I thought Libby was fine defensively but pretty poor going forward - a fair few misplaced passes and only managed to find space to run at his man once or twice.
You know we belong together...

Misses out again through a hamstring injury (is that a different injury to what he had recently before the International window?)

Not a good weekend for Kiwis in the Championship. Absolutely nothing to write home about for Bindon, Stamenic or Cacace who miss their respective matchday squads via injury or otherwise.

At least Crocombe made the bench for Millwall in the early kick off at Charlton. 😮‍💨

Probably the same injury. It was apparently a hammy injury that caused him to miss the Socceroos games.

Bugger.
Niche Cache did some analysis and he's hardly missed a game his whole career due to injury, but as soon as he gets to Wales and his hammys play up.

https://www.friendsoffootballnz.com/2025/09/18/liberato-cacace-at-risk-of-missing-october-internationals-after-injury-setback/

New Zealand international Liberato Cacace faces a “few weeks” on the sidelines after suffering a new injury, his Wrexham club have confirmed.

The injury threatens his chances of playing for the All Whites in their October internationals against Poland (October 10) and Norway (October 15).

Wing back Cacace (24) damaged a hamstring in Wrexham’s English Championship season opener on August 8, 2025.

He recovered in time for Wrexham’s game at Millwall on August 30, but has since had problems with his other hamstring.

“Libby’s going to be out a few weeks, unfortunately,” manager Phil Parkinson said. “It is a real blow for us.”

Cacace missed the All Whites’ two-match series against Australia in early September, as he was settling into his new club after a move from Italy’s Empoli.

Explaining Cacace’s new setback, Parkinson told The Leader: “I played it down last week because he did so well at Millwall. I brought him off to protect him, and he’s got a tendon problem in his other hamstring.

“He’s not a player who’s had injuries before in his career; his record’s good, but sometimes when you’re coming back from one injury, you overcompensate a little bit, and he’s picked up another one.

No Cacace as Wrexham win 2-0

As expected no Libby, in a 1-1 draw.
