Anyone know how is treatment in New Zealand is going?

off topic but my mate recently had his knee reconstructed by the ABs surgeon after tearing all his major knee ligiments playing rugby. The guy said it was the worst sports injury he had ever seen. No one else would go near it. Hope he's sorted Ryan out

Fuck this stupid game

Yeah I hope it gets sorted too. I would love for them to be able to give him another 2 years. It seems that Ryan is really enjoying being back in the All Whites set up again after a few years removed and he definitely makes us better.

Grumpy old bastard alert

The free transfer part is easy, whether he passes the medical is another story. Last I heard he was back in NZ, is he back in the UK now?

No players coming in. Looks like Spurs will pick him as a free agent after a release from Rovers. Don't forget Nelsen is far from fit

Looks like its done? Good move if Arry wanted him so bad. They need good leadership and he will bring it

Bradley Orr is apparently coming in for rovers. Sounds like Nelsen will be announced soon, press conference scheduled. He trained with Blackburn on Tuesday so he is back over there. No time for a fitness test now I would have thought.

Great move for Nelsen if it does go thru. no pressure on being a first choice CB so will be good for him to get back to full fitness also good for the AW setup.

I fail to see how this is a good signing for Spurs.

Three for me, and two for them.

Agreeed.  It looks like Seb Bassong has moved to Wolves after all so I suppose we'll hear soon.

Blackburn were stupid for releasing him in the first place

bassong's gone, gallas is injured for ages, so their experience has gone

he's an injury risk yes, but a better player than dawson and possibly as good as king

He's class when fit so is a perfect injury replacement for the first choice CB's. Agree Blackburn were stupid to release him. Sounds like Venkys got fed up with him being injured.

Anyone know how far away he is from playing again?

there's funny stuff going on the blackburn, this from keith andrews who left this morning:

"I went in this morning and wasnt sure where Id end up. When Roy was manager of Fulham there was certainly an interest there and in hindsight I wish it was something Id looked into more. But Blackburn gave me my chance in the Premier League and I didnt want to rock the boat. They were the ones who put their neck on the line and signed me from MK Dons. I dont want to go into too much detail about what happened there. The club that I signed for and the club Im leaving today, its chalk and cheese, its two different clubs. I'm glad to be leaving."

Can't doubt his experience - big call to say he is as good as Ledley, but a HUGE risk re injury I agree (remember Ledley barely trains during the week and even then struggles to get two games in a row).

However - he could be good alongside Dawson  who is still improving and needs a wise head next to him.

He's not better than Kaboul either, who i believe is still a Tottenham player.

He's 34 and has made 1 appearance for Blackburn this season.

Three for me, and two for them.

Well he has been injured

yeah kaboul's pretty good, but gaffe prone

the fact that he has only played once this season (due to injury) makes him an unusual signing, not necessarily a bad one

Taking nothing away from Ryan I don't think this signing has improved Spurs' back line.  If he can stay injury free then I guess he will fill in for Ledley when he is unavailable (ie every second week).  If he picks up an injury then we are very thin at the back.

i'd see him as a good candidate to start in a first XI alongside king, but at the very least i see him taking gallas' role as the king-rotator as you suggest

either way, i think it makes spurs stronger at least squad wise with gallas gone

much will depend on how he is after his injury break

surely there must've been a problem between the club or harry and Bassong? Nelsen's leadership and organisational qualities are unrivalled but at 34 and with injury problems, i seriously doubt spurs wanted to swap bassong for nelsen unless bassong just had to go for some reason?

bassong got the sulks a wee while back.  harry said this week that 'he's a good lad, but his head's down so he has to go' reg222012-02-01 12:58:15
