Full game in a 2-1 win. Unfortunately as De's Oxford lost at Cheltenham Town, Reading stay bottom.

Morale boosting win for Reading (up to 23rd) as they hammer fellow cellar dwellers Carlisle (22nd), by 5-1.

Full game Bindon. Hopefully a good sign, Reading can pull themselves out of the mire.

Eastleigh score a 2nd goal at 94 mins for a 2-1 win. In the bigger picture, don't think Reading will mind being out of the FA Cup.

As an EPL club as recently as 2013 - followed then by 10 years in The Championship until last season - they won't want to be in lowly League Two next season. See the fans are still protesting against their very unpopular Chinese owner.

Odd? You'd normally expect the enw manager bounce to have some effect.  Maybe England footballers are a little different to those in India and NZ?

Queenslander 3x a year.

Reading hold Oxford to a 1-1 draw. Full game Bindon.

Des is winless in 5 L1 games at Oxford since he took over. He’s taken them from 2nd to 5th. Not a master coach after all?

Bindon was actually brought in as a 58th minute sub, surprised myself too, given he's been a 90 minute fixture in the team. First time not playing 90 in the league.

Hopefully Des doesn't follow his former head-coach's run; Kisnorbo at Troyes won two from forty games or so. Picked up a Ligue 1 side and left them as a relegation side in Ligue 2. Maybe CFG-branded sides just have player quality that makes it easy. Buckingham didn't do much in Asia, but Indian teams are weak so hard to hold that against him. His 2019 NZ U20 side was easily the most talented of the last four tournaments, yet went no further than the other three cohorts taken by Bazeley. To be fair, only one coach has taken a men's NZ side to the quarterfinals of a global tournament; you'd never guess who that was.

The maligned D Hay, Tokyo Olympics. Helps that the Olympics is only a 16 team tourney, played over a short 2 weeks.

Des has always seemed a hell of a nice guy, and the efforts he went to prior Poland WC 2019, are the stuff of NZ football mini legend. Travelling the world at his own cost etc. He was also treated very poorly at the end by NZF, and the prickly unpopular Hay may have even played a part to undermine him. Danny certainly wanted that Olympics/AWs job.

But is Buckingham actually a better coach than Hay?  I'm not so convinced, despite the love affair for Des often on here. I genuinely hope he does go well at Oxford because he is a good dude. But I also think Hay deserves a shot at a pro football manager role. ALM being the obvious start.

Sorry for being off Tyler Bindon topic.

Comes on late at 84 mins (2-0) in a hugely valuable 2-0 win for Reading.

Bindon an unused sub in a 2-2 draw. Reading who were dead last, are now unbeaten in 4 games (3 draws), which to be fair is when about young Tyler has been sent back to the bench. All part of the learnings.

Bindon off the bench at 62 mins (2-2) in a 2-2 draw between two relegation battlers. Still Reading are unbeaten in 5 L1 games now (4 dtaws).

Looks like Bindon came on at RB. Aidan Keena, Mata's ex Sligo team mate on just prior HT (2-2) for Cheltenham

Back in the starting lineup as a CB, and a full game as Reading get a very important 3-2 win. Royals swap places with Exeter and so climb out of the relegation spots.

Abandoned after an early pitch invasion/protest.

Fair play to the Reading fans on this one. Sounds like this is just the beginning in ramping up pressure on Dai Yongge.

From Flying Kiwis.

Tyler Bindon did get a game for Reading in their 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient. Did quite well too, holding things down in central defence winning his headers and showing composure on the ball. He’d been making a few errors lately so good to see him with a more commanding performance (although there was one moment where he got caught out on the sideline which Orient probably should have scored from). Also good to see Reading add another point to the tally as they try to achieve the impossible and avoid relegation despite a points deduction and financial issues causing them to sell all their best players.

Bindon’s back into First XI territory now that the club has sold fellow defender Nelson Abbey (to Olympiakos... who share ownership with Nottm Forest so there’s suspicion this could end up being a way to bypass NFFC’s FFP worries – or he might just want to play in Greece, who knows). Bindon’s CB partner for this game, Tom Holmes, was also sold but Luton Town loaned him back for the rest of the season. The 19yo All White has been mentioned amongst other young, profitable players who would see the door if an appropriate bid comes through before the window SLAMS SHUT but he’s also basically guaranteed first team footy if he stays so yeah nah either way works.
