Poor at best. Bowlers need to do something special.

Three for me, and two for them.

Good effort to make the final. In the end not good enough. Vettori's injury being the last straw. What is it with us and injuries?

That was killer losing Vettori.

It was. Baz's decision to bat first was poor too, we never win batting first against aussie.

I went to bed when we were like 94-5, just after Elliott got out because I knew it was over for us.

Considering the huge number of people we were missing that could of turned the game around for us I am not too disappointed in the game. McCullum needs to be dropped down the order or dropped out of the team, he is our worst batsmen at the moment and is so inconsistent, atleast down the order he was more consistent. Broom needs to go, useless batsmen, can't believe that Styris does not play in place of him. He can bowl aswell.

My perfect team would be:
Ryder
Guptill
Taylor
Styris
Elliott
McCullum
Vettori
Franklin/Oram
Mills
Tuffey
Bond

Pretty deep batting lineup, a very good bowling attack. In the reserves would be one of Franklin/Oram depending on form and injuries, Butler and Patel depending on the wicket. We need a deep batting lineup considering that all our top batsmen are inconsisten except for Guptill and Ryder who generally get 20/30s every game or more (the odd game not but you get the picture). Elliott and Taylor need to get more consistent and Styris needs to be selected to prove that he can save us. Oram needs to stop getting injured and regain his form otherwise be replaced by Franklin who is out performing him at the moment. It is time to stop protecting players with good record who are not performing well like McCullum and Oram like the selectors said they would not and showed with Styris.

Completely agree with you on Broom WPF!  Also agree that it is time for the McCullum at the top experiment to be halted.  For me the team would  be:

Ryder
Redmond
Guptill
Taylor
Elliott
McCullum
Vettori
Franklin
Mills
Tuffey/Butler/Patel (depending on conditions and form)
Bond

Although i'm surprised you don't have Paston in there as the specialist 'keeper!

World Cup Groups:

Group A: Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada, Kenya.

Group B: India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands.

This was in the paper today, 4 teams qualify from each group though for quarterfinal knockouts.

Goodbye Andy Moles ...

End of the road for Moles

24/10/2009 11:39:30

New Zealand Cricket has confirmed Andy Moles has resigned as coach of the Black Caps.

Moles and New Zealand Cricket entered mediation yesterday after a review process highlighted issues between senior players and the coach.

Moles came under scrutiny following the Black Caps' tours to Pakistan and South Africa despite the fact the team made the final of the recent Champions Trophy one-day tournament.

The Black Caps fly out this week for a one day series against Pakistan in Dubai.

McCullum axed as vice captain as well. From what I've heard he wasn't much as captain when Vettori was injured.

Well he's at it do you think he could fix the problems in the middle east, kill Robert Mugabe and help racial tensions in South Africa go away?

Would Vettori become the best New Zealand cricketer ever?

I know as an Australian, I think he has done brilliantly and would have made a truckload if he wanted to move to Australia and play cricket.

I will remember him as one of the very best cricketers ever, particularly in the One Day format.

Sorry big giuy, sitting on the banks at the Basin on a ripping day beat Seddon Park hands down. In December we get the privilege of a Friday day of a test match followed by a Phoenix home game. Is that potentially the best day ever (or second behind the 6-0 day)? I think so.

December 4, what a day that will be!

Steve Rixon would not be the right fit for this team right now, that team in 97 was crying out for someone to get some discipline into them. This team just needs confidence, talent is there just needs to believe it can perform at the highest level.

Im going to presume Wright doesn't want the job or he has seriously pissed someone off at NZC.

Since when is Cameron White international quality? He has been scoring runs consistently for Australia at 4 this year with no Clarke there. Good god what is the world coming too!

That man is utter garbage. Id back ourselves to give the Aussies a pretty good run in the ODI series this summer, we have been for the last couple of years but our teams has got better with the return of Bond!
