Low scoring thrillers ftw. Less of this 300+ shit please.

Three for me, and two for them.

I think we might see a few of those games through the middle part of the tournament where they might reuse tired pitches. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure they have to reuse the odd one to get through all the games.

Had enough time between lectures to catch the first session, some very stupid shots (or lack there of, ie shouldering arms then seeing off stump flying out of the ground), but equally some really good bowling. The bowlers extracted some good pace and bounce out of the pitch, which Auckland's failed to do (with the exception of Martin), bowled good consistent lines and some sharp fielding. Nick Beard's direct hit in over one was outstanding.

Swapped my shift on sunday at work so could go. Get home to buy tickets, and they're sold out (which is good for chch)

If anybody has any tickets spare, ill buy them off you and make an equivalent donation while at the game.

Will keep an eye out for some spares. They really are trying to fit in as many people as possible so they could release more if they find some safe seating areas for more punters.

For example, today we marked out the boundary and pulled it in a few metres so they could seat (apparently) several hundred more people inside the pickets.

Yeah that is bad luck! My flatmate bought three tickets no more than two hours ago.

Yeah and as the HRV cup showed us, no one is safe even outside the pickets. They said they'd be reminding people to keep an eye on the game. Not that people will.

I feel somewhat rewarded for my faith, staying up to watch the blackcaps - Taylor has boomed the Pakis like you wouldn't believe. We were well out of the game and he's single handedly given us a shot at the points. Currently he's on 131 off 124 and we have scored 95 runs from the last five overs. Lost count of the sixes. Incredible return to form. He was dropped twice before reaching 20 btw.

Oram booming it now. Black caps have been possessed.

Ended 302 after 50 overs. Were looking at 235 if we scored 8 an over at one point.TopLeft072011-03-09 02:07:19

Wow! Glad I decided not to go to bed after all. Kamran Akmal will probably get his house burnt down.

A pox on the commentator who said "the crowd want to see more of this from Australia".

Same - was about to go to bed when Franklin got out thinking it would be the usual, but something just to told me to hang in there.

Did not regret it, even though I'm walking around like a zombie atm.

Oh Black Caps, once again you give us a reason to hope. Why oh why must I fall into the trap of believing in you? You will only break my heart again in the next two weeks.

Yeah I said I'd crash at 12, then for some reason I hung in there even though at that stage it was so terribly boring.

I feel fine after 4  hours sleep but I'll probably have to write off quiz-night-wednesday.

Was so stoked I decided to stay up. At midnight after putting up with How and first 100 ball Taylor I just about pulled the pin, but wow. Hopefully that time at the crease was exactly what Taylor needed to hit some form, that first half of his was so scratchy it was ridiculous.

After 40 overs, I honestly thought we would scratch through to 220-240, didn't think we would get near to 300.

Bring in Kano for How, it's been enough. What great hitting at the death, turned 240 into 300. Take that taylor-droppers and oram-bashers. If Bennett had played instead of Oram that game could have been very close

Thank goodness I got my tickets the other day. Heard a rumour that TAB tv were going to show the game live.    So that's cool for those not able to get tickets.

What are you doing Tegal? Trying to lure me into believing we can actually win this thing? You know it'll hurt when we don't.
