I've been reading the first 10 or so pages of this thread and have decided that TheJam is the best thing that ever happened to YF.  The amount of pent-up rage he has is truly remarkable.  Here's the best one I've found so far:

TheJam wrote:
Greenpeace. I hate the horrible soggy hippies with clipboards who attempt to molest you on Queen St to support their "land rights for gay whales" viewpoint on how we should  all live our lives. When I insult them (as I invariably do) they come out with some sh*t like "Don't you care about the environment?". I usually respond with "Yes, but I care not for your organisation's eco-warrior like attitude and assumption that what they are doing is supporting the viewpoint of us all."
They I normally tell them to f**k off home and have a bath.

Gay whales - brilliant.

As I've said on here before, you guys are/were very lucky that Tony P came on here and spoke to you guys, rare for a professional sporting club CEO to do that.

I'm not a WPFC fan, but all the best Tony back here in Melbourne, it was a nice sunny day here today.

Isn't this a supporters group, why would someone come on here if they aren't a fan of the Phoenix?

The people on Queen Street are "chuggers" and are not Greenpeace reps.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

A customer coming into work with a voucher for a free movie.  That was all well and good, but turned out he wasn't a member.  I told him he'd need to sign up, but he didn't have any of the documentation and then he got really pissy and told me he didn't need to be a member to get out a movie.  He asked me three or four times to show him where, on the voucher, it said he had to be a member, I answered him each time that it didn't say it but he kept asking.  How stupid can one person be?  There's only so much room for small print on a voucher, some things can be assumed, surely?

Oh, and having to ring 4 pages worth of people who didn't bother returning their films.

Life's tough at a video store.  If only it were more like on the movie Clerks.

Abby Sunderland - ungrateful bitch.

And the media coverage - if she was from Sri Lanka or Afghanistan, all we would hear (especially in Australia) was how the taxpayer has to pay for it. Cos she's a pretty white girl, it's all 'thank god she's alive!'
I like tautologies because I like them.

Thought this might be worth pondering...
Bitch is a word we use culturally to describe any woman who is strong, angry, uncompromising and, often, uninterested in pleasing men. We use the term for a woman on the street who doesn't respond to men's catcalls or smile when they say, "Cheer up, baby, it can't be that bad." We use it for the woman who has a better job than a man and doesn't apologize for it. We use it for the woman who doesn't back down from a confrontation.

lol actually there isn't anything wrong with woman being those particular traits and most guys I've run across have never minded that I'm strong and put pleasing myself before pleasing them. But in the case of this particular "young"sailor the only diff between her and the other one who was successful is one storm. and this one got round Cape Horn fine so was sheer bad luck she hit it and the other had a clear sailing.

personally I disagree with tax payers money going to rescue any solo adventuror but I don't think age comes into it as there are certainly loads of older males rescued from boats around NZ. Also the Australian & US media are turning on her now. The first reaction for any resuce is yay thank god and then once thats over it doesnt matter what colour or age one is when questions are asked as to why the rescue was needed
