Kia ora

Due to the extreme weather conditions we are currently experiencing and the big clean up the city is currently facing, ALL Junior football has been cancelled this weekend. This includes Horo-Kapiti, Wairarapa, Girl’s Only and Fun Football Festivals as well as ALL junior grades.

We are currently working with the various Councils to assess the situation for senior football and will let you know as soon as we can.

Please stay safe and warm!

Kind regards

Alida

Wakefield 1 has a tree on it

So your best defensive line would be tree-four-tree.

**** There are two big trees down at KP, but on a car park, not a footy field.

I'm guessing nearly everything will be cancelled except for what they can put on artificial. grass pitches will be buggered if they put games on them this weekend.

Fuck this stupid game

We have worked with the various Councils regarding playing senior football this weekend. Most grass pitches are closed or heavily restricted for Saturday and Sunday, and Wakefield 1 (artificial) is closed due to a huge tree that has blown over on the west end. In addition, travelling around the city is still precarious and we appreciate that it’s been an eventful 24 hours for most people, and many families and businesses are facing a massive clean-up over the next few days.

We will be going ahead with games in:

·  Lotto Men’s and Women’s Central League

·  Men’s and Women’s Premier League

·  U17s Div A & B. (Please note, U17s have no spare weekends for “catch up” games due to breaks for school holidays, a College Sport event, and the Ivan England tournament at the end of the season which is why their games are going ahead.)

However, we have made some significant time changes for many teams in these divisions to get these games played. A summary of the times and venues of the games currently going ahead is below, with one venue still to be confirmed. However, please note we will be reassessing the situation with the games currently scheduled to go ahead, at 4pm this afternoon and again tomorrow morning if necessary.

This means the following divisions are cancelled this weekend (including games that have been drawn on artificial turf; Wakefield 1 & 2, Wellington College, Te Whaea, Petone Memorial & Maidstone):

·  Capital 1 – 15 (both Saturday & Sunday)

·  Masters 1 – 5

·  Horo/Kapiti men’s leagues

·  Wairarapa men’s leagues

·  Women’s 1 – 3

Monday and Tuesday nights fixtures will be reassessed on Monday lunchtime.

Palmerston North Marist v Napier is in Palmy at 2pm (probably).

We need Capital Football to co-operate.

Didnt really consider the good timing of that. If you left straight away you'd probably only miss 5-10 minutes of the second game (if that) I'd imagine.

Great plan.

Get Lundy to drive you. You'll have time to grab some Carls jnr for the drive back and still make kick off.

"To drive like Lundy" - a great phrase that never really took off.  A pity really.

grounds are wet [Ground staff would know this...].......turned up at Delaney Park and ground staff have marked the pitch using some type of golf cart.....But driving on the pitch leaving deep impressions over the pitch...even drove to mark the penalty spots [ lazy ass ].......totally f....ed major parts of. the pitch, before a ball had even been kick........well done Capital Football and your      ''top" Contracters for outstanding work..

Capital Football don't mark pitches. They just hire them.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
