And then most of those players would transition to the Weenix? Seems like a decent idea.

I got told the second team is still going to be welly united players but why would any player with the slightest ambition stick around when there no chance of moving up to the first team?

Quiet a few of the academy players are in the WeeNix already. So it will help them get competitive game across the whole year.

IBU have the same squad as last year including the chubby fella at CB

Permalink Permalink

Heard they have a new coach as well?

Permalink Permalink

Haha brilliant insider info Gazza. You been stalking the training? There have been a few changes so not quite the same squad. And it's still very early days.

Permalink Permalink

Mate, I have just been hearing a few snippets about ibu. Hopefully you got a new cb though, the chubby fella should be in cap 1 or 2 and someone decent in the midfield.

Any other news on player movement?

Dunno who you're talking about. We only have finely tuned athletes.

What happened in the game between Wharf and I think Stop Out. Or is that next week?

Permalink Permalink

they had a friendly last night. Good hard close fought game. Packer is a very good player but a bit of a hot head (which is saying a bit as there were quite a few hot heads playing).

All of Stop Out are good players but hot heads

Permalink Permalink

This would be true based on reports of the brawl last year in the Stop Out v Lower Hutt game which evidently went on for some time with several players from both sides "going for it"

If these issues have not  been addressed by the Stop Out Club expect more of the same this year.

For KCU, I believe Ricki Herbert's boy kale (i think that is his name) is still there, They have a new coach and a young squad so could be a surprise package.

Beat Red Sox Manawatu last week 5-0 and are playing Palmerston North Marist this weekend from what i hear.

2-0 to Wharf over IB in the opener

How boring Feverish.

Was a good game to watch - both teams looked to play and there were a number of chances both ways.  Sutherland ripped an absolute screamer first time that cannoned off post, but was capatilised on seconds later by Connor Ramsey to complete his brace.

IBU definitely not outplayed, just couldn't finish, and Spargo in goal for Karori pulled off a few beautiful saves.

Was a game of two halves for Spargo. Couldn't catch a cold or pass wind in the first half but the second pulled off probably half a dozen top draw saves to keep Wharf clear

Apologies.

Lino needs to go to specsavers and Nigel gave a rubbish first yellow and declined the tuck of the shirt from the last man (ref rant over)

IBU 2-2 with Miramar after Miramar led 2 nil. IBU most of play, especially in the second half.

Upper Hutt 2 Wharf 4. Skipper Jock Sutherland scored all 4 for Karori.

Lovely Levi-Jock goal at full speed after 10m. 2-0 after 30m. UHutt 2-2

at halftime. Jock scored  1m into the second half and added one more later.

Argentine Wharfie Leo was good value in midfield and Ethan Cain did well

also. Pedro got one of the UH goals.
