Could Upper Hutt be in danger of this?

May well be, although some small comfort taken from having played Welly Utd, Wharfies, IBU and Petone.

Over the next two weeks they have KCU and BNU (both away) Strange draw though - last played at Home on the 11th of April and don't play at home again until 6 June.

Could be really awkward if their 2nds drop out of Cap 2 as well

Wharf 2 Kapiti 0. Both sides had chances in the first half but the score was still 0-0 after 75 minutes.

Eventually Karori got on top and Leo Villa scored with a rocket from 28 metres before Jock added another.

Karori now have five wins from five matches. Tougher games lie ahead.

It seems KCU nearly succeeded in breaking things up. Saw they had 5 at the back and really looked to frustrate.

Wharf 2 Miramar 0. Goals to Matt Shaw and Jock S. Fair result on the run of play. Wharf still 100 percent after six games. Petone in cup at KP next week.

They are all off to the Hong Kong tourney afterwards as well, plus the 20s will be gone by then (Dimairo, Blake, et al)

Time for the 12yos to step up.

Is there still that rule that you can ask for a postponement if you have 3+ players on international duty? Mar used it last year in Central League IIRC.

Permalink Permalink

I believe this rule is still in place but has been side stepped at times. NZF using Phoenix name as club to built up hype

Gone I believe.

I've used it a few times in the past

I heard that Island Bay have agreed to play the match earlier before they all leave, meaning Weenix will be near full strength.

If its true Island Bay are just waving the white flag with no ambitions of promotion. Would've been a perfect time to play them whilst not at full strength.

Or Island Bay back themselves to beat a full strength Weenix?!

Or Island Bay might are just being sporting and accommodating...

Sportsmanship back in football….

That would be nice to see again.

instead of some of the petty protests of the recent past where some sportsmanship of informing the  opponents  of a possible rule breach prior to the start of a game when it is noticed rather than protest for the points when you loose at the end of the game.

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

The North Wellington Award for Petty Protests?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Olympic pumped 7-1 by Phoenix. Coach still watching from bushes as apparently breached his original ban. Brilliant.

sharks v Nix game postponed. Accomodating, ballsy or stupid from Bay?

I reckon if they had any aspirations of playing Central League next year they wouldn't have postponed the fixture

Accommodating, respectful and just fair play. Would expect the same if shoe was on other foot. A victory over them this week would have been pretty empty.

If thats the case why not wait until the Nz u20s are back?

To me they wanted into this league, they should have to play the fixtures when they are meant to. I dont think clubs should bend over backwards. They knew they would lose a number of players throughout the season, they should have prepared for it...Or maybe just not have shafted a club in the process and could have called upon the United club to help out?

Given that we all call for FFA to respect International Windows when scheduling the A-League, I'm completely okay with this.

And of course Nik it makes it more difficult for Karori as 3 points to Island Bay over The Baby Nix  would have helped your cause

Permalink Permalink

Do Welly Nix have players in the U20 squad?

I see it as a respect thing over the take the points matter

but can see both sides to the argument

Not sure Ernie would postpone a game with Victree if they had Socceroos out

Olympic 1 Wharf 1. The Karori boys had the best of territory and possession

but the boys in blue always looked troublesome on the break and missed a

penalty as well as scoring a goal for 1-0 just after halftime. Leo equalised

for Wharf but that was all. Oddly since the Wee-Nix have a bye the Wharf

go top of the league but they will need to play better than this to win promotion.

Wharf have next week off. Then play Wgtn Utd at KP.

question...

Was there an appeal or something?

I noticed that Karori now have a 3-0 win from this game...?

Permalink Permalink

Surely not? Karori pulling a North Wellington is hilariously ironic though.

Wharf 0 Weenix 3. More even game than score indicates and Wharf had good shout for penalty

at 0-2 with 15 mins left. Biggest croud at KP in years.

league essentially weenix to lose now for sure, wasn't at the game unfortunately, bit more detail?

 cheers

Yeah that's a huge loss for karori. Early days though

Fuck this stupid game

I thought wharf were unlucky and played the better footy (could be wrong/bias). Obviously if you don't get the ball in the onion bag..

Nix played pretty direct and gully in the middle wasn't in the game much.

Frustrating that a stone wall pen wasn't given to wharf at 2-0 but what can you do..
