Imagine being booked because your wide midfield player keeps hitting balls your way.

You don't have to play or chase the ball if you know you are offside. Just walk away. No flag. No free kick.

It doesn't say though that he was ever transferred from Olympic, so he'd still be registered.

Wasn't he registered for Wanderers in the ASB Prem? He would have had to have had a transfer back from them.

I heard that the transfer was completed the morning of the game. Not sure if true though.

That's a fair point probably both of them in that boat

How does Clayton Lewis play for Olympic when there is no transfer registered on the Capital Football website?

Could it be more lost points for them?

Maybe Wanderers didn't fax off the transfers. Def registered with Olympic

is it the capital football system failed again????

is it a matter that unless there is a complaint there is no problem???

i think you should contact the NW legal team as they are always in the right???

on a more serious note i hope it is a paperwork/computer mistake at capital football and not a club mistake as these matters of transfers and clearances are usually pretty easy and laid out in black and white in the rules.

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

Can we just agree that yellow cards for breaking the offside rule a few times would be fudgeing stupid?

Patrick and Jeff....it was more than  "a few times". That is why I raised the issue. However, I have now read a

long and detailed forum from the US in which the issue is well and seriously debated. It says you COULD MAYBE

issue a yellow for PI but no one ever does. I'll leave it at that.

link? I want to see if this ridiculous discussion exists elsewhere. Might as well discuss yellow cards for repeatedly conceding corners as well.

Offside is covered under Law 11

"Persistent Infringement" is stated as part of Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct

Offside is not a foul...nor, is it misconduct

Persistent Infringement (Yellow Card) is not applicable to Law 11 - Offside.

All these referees on here! Who knew!  :-)

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Any more chat about persistent offside resulting in a yellow card will just result in a 24 hour ban for the offending parties. Let's talk Cap Prem in here please.

So. If a Cap Prem player keeps getting foul throws given against him..........

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Ban me forever. See if I care.

PS What happened to free speech?

PS The bit about PI says it apples to the LAWS (plural) of the game.

It's not about free speech it's about shoving a thread massively off topic.  Start another thread on the subject in an appropriate forum if you want.

It is not "off topic" The event happened in the top of the table Cap Prem match.

And made the first half somewhat boring as a result.

The WeeNix were offside often.  The discussion about whether that is against the rules is a significant diversion for the original point of the thread.

There is no precedent for repeated offside being justification for a card (Pippo Inzaghi and Kenny Cunningham would both have had to retire at 5 years old if it was).  Should you wish to discuss why that is then raise it here:

'Free Speech'.  You are not being censored, you are not having your posts hidden and it has nothing to do with who you do or don't support (remembering Feverish owns the Fever brand and he IS Waterside Karori to many)

This place has some rules.  Two moderators have asked the people in this thread to follow them.  Please take this on board.

freedom of speech? never fear, the government won't be arresting you for your views on whether offside is a cautionable offence or not. So your right to freedom of speech remains intact.

Allow me to help you out Loftus and end it quickly.

You NEVER issue a yellow card for being persistently offside.

Ever

The End.

Hey Loftus, you seem to be a regular poster of the Wharf games. What happened at KP today. 4-3 sounds like a close one.

On the issue of transfers from Wanderers SC, I understand (although I did hear it second hand) that there's something in the NZF regulations or the agreements that were put in place which menat players don't have to be transferred from their clubs, or vice versa.

It wasn't that close. 4-1 to Karori until UH got a penalty and another goal in the final 10 mins to make it 4-3.

Could well be the case but there were a number of players listed as transferred from ASB Premiership this season. Not sure if these players went back to their previous club or to a new one.

Wellington United 2 vs Kapiti Coast 1.  KCU lead from the 15th to the 91st minute.  Penalty thanks to Baz Lewis (who was also sent off, as predicted before the game), and then a goal more or less straight from kickoff.  Final whistle after restart.  An exciting end to a pretty average match to be fair.

So were Kapiti good for their lead most of the game? Seems they are pretty decent based on form for last 6-8 weeks.

Big blow having Barry sent late seeing as Kapiti have Karori next week. I don't think the league is quite sewn up yet!

The bus was well and truly parked for the entire second half.  I don't recall KCU getting inside the WU half for 40 mins of the last 45, but WU could not covert chances thanks to the KCU POD keeper who had an absolute stormer.  WU were below strength, but KCU came to play and nearly pulled the upset of the round thats for sure.

Absolutely - been a while since I watched UH, but it was a good game and Pedro was on fire!
