Yes you did Slayers!!   We really were rubbish that first year with Samaon basketballers, weedy ex students and our two Japanese imports. Plus me and Woz not fit yet (takes a couple of years to get into gear). Letting in 147 goals takes some doing!!

You beat us twice in that funny little mini league last year too remember? But we beat you in the regular season 2-1!!!

We got our first ever point against the Martians and our first ever win against Slayers thats why the relationship is special for us. Maybe we should have our own little trohpy competition??

Looks like a couple of the new teams in 14b might be like us!? What do you think (North Wellington B for example).

Yes I do remember your first season in with fondness as for once we were not the worst team in the worst league in Wgtn! :)
I missed the mini league last year and consequently the Slayers best ever run of results.

And I do remember vividly you getting your first ever win at our hallowed Harcourt Park grounds so we are quietly gutted the vhance for some revenge was stolen from us this week.

But nevermind we all enjoy the drive out to luxurious Waitangirua to play you guys and even have a couple of "Waitangirua locals" in our side lol.

I wouldnt say its the worst league. I do remember the Martians beating a certain team that had won Masters 2. Masters 4 would be the worst league.

Ha next you'll be saying at least we could beat some of the under 7's sides too (maybe)

I would have mentioned the womans league but after seeing a game i'm not sure how many are really female :P

You must mean Lower Hutt Yo Yos Slayer. Our Porirua City womens team are mainly beautiful teenagers!!

I love a debate about how bad we are........How about all three teams win this week!

Lol don't worry we are planning on it! But not possible for all 3 teams as we are beating Petone this week ;)

the rag tag misfit bunch that is the nrth wellington bombers lol we're getting better each week with most the guys not having played for more than a few years. seems to be two or three good teams in our league and the rest (from what ive seen so far) are much of a muchness, we have had our chances and some games should've been closer than what they were but lucks not on our side .. yet.

The slayers have been known to get ring ins from the Upper Hutt 1st team when they have had the saturday off for some reason. hahahahaha

Its hard to call the 1st team keeper a ring in when he doesnt even now what boot to put on what foot.

Woah where did that come from??
I will not deny it we have had guest players play for us in the past, at least 3 (but not 1st team players).
M while recovering from knee injury and agreed to ref a half.
T while having personal spat with higher grade coach.
D whenever he was dropped by his coach for being too off his face to see the ball properly.

All in all those guys have probably played for us about 8 times in total over 5 years. I would suggest you could point your finger more accurately at other teams but we're not ones to complain.
You can only play who runs onto the field and I think our results speak for themselves on this matter lol.

You have to have a first team to do that! Porirua City has four teams in total; the Masters 1 team is our first team, we have a womens team in Div 3 which is our second team, the Div 13 and Div 14 teams which are equivalent to watersides 11th team!

Mana play the Unicycles on Saturday weather permitting (looks good on forecast), so a warm welcome to them to the green pastures of Waihora Park. We will be looking for a second win!

Most teams at our level play fair by the way. If teams are very short sometimes they get players who have already played an early kick off to make up the numbers, but they are often a bit tired from the first game anyway! Wainui used a few second team players against us last year which was a mite unfair but mostly not too much of an issue.

Certainly the Slayers are a very honest bunch.

Ring ins, bloody heck thats were we have been going wrong all these years!

If we are short we just get the guy going past walking his dog or the wino that lives under the rail bridge, thats the beauty of playing at Sladden Park.

Yeah most teams are pretty honest in our game. It's certainly a much better feeling winning a game with your old heads doing all the work. Certainly the reaction of Mana beating us proved that lol.

Must say we had a dodgy one the other week when some grades were cancelled. We played a side who could only field 8 the previous week but had at least 17 turn up to play us, and some pretty skilled players to boot ;o).

But we can only play (chop down lol) the players put on the field in front of us :o)

Bring on the Martians!!!!!!!

Are you talking about us OS? We're a uni team and the three weeks before last week we had been hit hard by the mid-semester break. In fact last week was all our 'official' squad except for the 'keeper but our excuse is that somewhere along the line the keepers we were assigned got moved somewhere else, leaving us without a proper one.

Have to admit we were possibly a bit dodgy with our Eastbourne game, one of our ring-ins played for the French U17 side a few years back with Franck Ribery and co.

You have keepers assigned????
Wow our keeper is the one with the dodgiest knees, and it shows by our awesome defensive record. Our defense is faultless of course ;)

Stuffed again! 6-1 against the Unicycles. I think its probably time to retire and just do the refereeing......til time when the pre kick off excitement returns...

Shocker for the Slayer's too. Rushed out to a 2 goal lead looking quite the shizzle then Petone brought on Ronaldo who just tore our defense to shreads scoring 2 individual goals and unlucky not to score 3 more.
Lost one of our hardest workers early when Steve tried to remove his brain from his skull using an opposition players forehead (i'm sure hair would have helped stem the flow of blood). We wish Steve a speedy recovery simply because no one else is fit enough to keep chasing for 80 minutes.
5- 2 win to the Martians in the end, probably our worst loss of the season because we know were capable of winning this game. Just not today :oP
Next week Delaney Park, quite possibly the spiritual home of the Slayers (we were born from the Stokes Valleys Slayers cricket team).

So long as things don't turn out like today, reff away!

It was a tough first half against you guys, a real midfield battle. I think you guys expended far too much energy and it meant you really opened up for us in the second half.

Yes thanks Critical Lemon. I think I was a bit tired from 90 minutes of reffing the Porirua City v Swifts game just before our game. easily my worst effort of the season - and you are right we ran out of energy, structure and there were too many "hero" runs from our better players.

The club are really sorry about the problems towards the end of the game, but I think both sides showed sense and sorted it out. Best of luck for season.

Cheers for the sympathy Erection. I think the blood made it look worse then it really was. Only 10 stitches a black eye and neck strain that would make a hooker think twice about giving a BJ. Well done Martians. I leave the lads with a one goal advantage and look what happens. Next time maybe.

80 minutes?     That's still 10 minutes longer than me.

10 stitches??     It was a nasty clash of heads.  Our lad ended up with quite a golf ball on his forehead.  Glad you're alright mate, and I hope you're playing again soon.
In case anyone is interested, I gave my hamstring a slight tweak in the second half, but I'm ok.

Quite a bit of blood was spilled at Sladden definately.
Pumpkinhead Steve and our man Simon recovering from having 4 wisdom teeth removed during the week was spitting moutfulls whenever he had no choice but to header the ball.

But anyway bring on the wet weather footy!!! It slows down the 'fancy dans' just enough for us tortoises to get a touch.

80 minutes?!?!? heh I was subconciously thinking about our 10 minute breaks as subs obviously...... pass me another beer

Great match against Stokes Valley immigrants and the gorgeous as ever Newtown #1. Universalle off to a rip roaring start scored early and never really stopped creating chances with some of or best, tactically sound football of the season with triangles and all sorts of shapes cropping up all over the field.

Unfortunately with a embarrassing (for the substitute keeper, as out main man was on holiday) from a looping, seemingly unintentional 30 yard shot, the Immagrints broke apart our 490 minute clean sheet and then did it again 20 mins later...

8 - 2 final score, we missed a LOT of chances, but got enough. All in all an excellent game against a swift, fairplaying, and enjoyable but outclassed SV side.

So anything happening with promotion news?

The revised plan is to run a full draw (ie play each other twice) in a and b then have mini leagues at end of season. The top mini league providing the promotion opportunities (number going up depends on league make up and entries next year). This will give us the same number of games as the larger divisions above.

Yeah that is pretty stupid...a whole nother round...geez no offence to any of the teams but i hope they've all stepped up a bit, starts to get a bit old after the 6th goal...No disrespect ot any of the teams but we should all be playing teams at or near our level...Big up to Upper Hutt of course

I didnt notice that "tweak". It didnt make you play any worse

The refs who where watching in the 1st half commented how nice it was to watch players enjoying their football. I think really they just wanted to join in the fun.

I'm interpreting that as saying I was equally awesome before and after the tweak.  I don't care how you meant it - that's how I'm interpreting it.
