I hope Big Guy is going to be paying us more then!!!

This is Wozza's time...he knows we will win and that at last he can punch the air in triumph (providing he has enough energy left!).
We have Joe MCB back to score the goals now, so we can convert our good play into a result. Prediction is 5-2 to Mana!

Isnt that the same Wozza that punches the ball inthe goalbox and gives away penaltys?

Mana will not be distracted from the Slayers by Martians smart arse comments!! We have a secret plan to confuse the big guy and get him to kick the ball the wrong way.......

Fortunately for you and Mana that it seems likely to be cancelled. With Slayers great defending, a bent ref and a team less fit then Dolly Partons bras the 5 - 2 you guys predicted is what we would be leading at half time....."Oh when the the slayers,.... come marching in, you guy's will wish we hurry up and win.... Go the Slayers!

I think you guys should check out the Slayers website. You might find something you can use in the game to your advantage (or not).

PC Mana lead 4-1 with half an hour to play............ 4 - 4 draw with the Slayer's almost snatching a winner on the buzzer.
Good game and a great comeback, can't wait for the return fixture!!!

PC Mana v Slayers full time 4-4
Awesome game and a result for both teams, well done Slayers and Mana. Proving my detractors wrong, 2 slide tackles in the box and no penaltys from them!!!!
Slayers came back and put the pressure on in the second half and deserved the draw with the effort put into attack, we tired and couldnt put away 2 more chances.
Thanks Slayers and see you next year if not sooner

I think you need to spell it out cause I cant work out what you mean, and obvious fun site that takes the piss out of our own players.
Thanks for the game PCM as always a great bunch of guys to play against, just hope you guys can supply a ref that actually knows the rules and is actually prepared to make some calls. Had the game been against a different team it could have got out of hand but as always you guys are a pleasure to play against.

Its great to see Mana scoring goals again. We have had a lean year so far. Now I can mention that despite the one ringer we played, we were running short this week! Phew. hard secret to keep!

I just think it was a hard match to ref. Although our teams we normally play in closer to each other, I though we both played a lot more free flowing football and it was a good game to be part of.
Cole seems to be making keeper his position du jour, Mana has never had a dedicated keeper so it will be good to see his confidence grow. He complained that he wasnt getting enough action today! ( I think he regretted his words shortly into the second half)
Nightz was right. Division 2,3,5,6,9,10,12 and 13 are so unimportant we got the fields and the game of the year!

There was nothing wrong with the ring in you had, he is part of your club and he only went down one grade which is totally within the the rules. Some teams when most grades are cancelled drop players from the top divisions to play in social grades and at the end of the day it is a social type grade.
As for being a hard game to ref, not really. I felt sorry for you guys with a couple of your offside calls go against you when the players did not interfere with play. But when you have a ref that is not willing to make an effort to learn the rule when previously explained to him they only have themselves to blame when it is considered a hard game to ref. If a Ref wants to be so pig headed week in week out and think he is right and everyone else is wrong then the game will not improve. One of your players tried to explain it to the ref and I have no doubt that next week he will still make the same calls.

Yeah I agree a few of the calls went against players who while in an offside position, had nothing to do with play. A couple went against you guys too for the same reason. Its hard to call with no linesmen though, I think he tried to fairly apply the rule to both teams.

Now you know what we have to put up with week in week out.
I remember the days you used to be glad you had a home game so that you could atleast get some calls go your own way cause you had to supply the ref. I pray every week that the other team will supply the ref.
I know they are going to make mistakes, as do the players but when they are so pig headed about being right even though the view they have on a rule is totally wrong then nothing will change.

Our ring in was our original ref. Unfortunately he's completely fair......

Ha it was hardly a secret, having heard one of your players ask what your team mates name was is a bit of a give away
. But at least the ringer was no less crap than the rest of us

.Don't see why we need to assasinate our ref, he makes the same calls every week and is consistantly bad against both sides. Yet for some reason our players decide to stand and argue with him while the opposition streak away to almost score....... hmmmmm.
I do agree he needs to call some fouls though or things could get out of hand.
But it is cool I don't need to feel guilty about not taking the whistle myself for a game
All the best Mana, I hope we get to meet again this year.
Martians........ YOUR NEXT!!!!

Sealads 1 - 2 Unicycles. Absolute bog of a pitch made for a very scrappy and close game, plenty of chances for both sides but thanks to a couple of fine stops and a few misses the right side came out on top
Possibly the worst game of football we've played so far but it was good fun.

SL2 were not particularly happy about the origins of a couple of Uni players. Especially the one who plays central league for Wellington United. Watch this space...

That happened to us when we played them the first time. It is always obvious when a team does not know half its players names. It is a shame really. I found you guys by far the harder team when we played.
Wozza that is the plan, the body is not holding up the best so I try to ref as much sunday football as I can. I plan on becoming a ref (Once I can get fit)

In our defense, at least with regards to having ring-in players not so much one of them being from the central league: we are a team made up of entirely Victoria University students, we have been short on several occaisions because of study breaks, exams and at the moment we are in the middle of the break between semesters. If we didn't have ring-ins we'd be playing with 9 men at most quite often.
Now I'm fairly sure thats the only time we've had someone playing at that level in our side, but surely SL2 negated any advantage by having 4 or 5 subsititutes compared to our none and in my opinion the players we had filling in for us were hardly better than our actual players.

Steve no fitness test for level 1 just 2 nights of study followed by an open book test at the home of football (Enemy ground normally as it is also the home of Martians). You would easily pass it mate.

Correct me if im wrong but there were 4 uni teams in cap 13 who had the week off - you did not need to bring in someone who plays central league...unfair on the rest of the teams who are trying to get promotion, and something that should be heavily penalised by Capital football...central league players are semi-proffessional as they get paid to play! Hardly fitting for them to be allowed to play in the social divisions....

His name is Sam Green. He played firsts at Wellington College and now plays central league for Wellington United. Played at centre back for uni, which I don't believe is his normal position. However it would be more than fair to say that without him their defence would have struggled.
He's not a relation of yours is he greenie??

Actually, I think it would be unfair to say, he played about as well as our normal centre-back does.

I think Uni should be stripped of the win and the points given to Sealads
As stated, other divisions were canceled that they could have got players from a little more suited to the division.
