I'll pass that message along Feverish, I think the guys who have got most of the ring-ins the past aren't really versed in social footy ettiquite having played competitive football through high school.

In regards to the upper hutt team i only recognised a few of their players from the game before so I'd guess it was prob more than 3, but yeah i understand.

Spose regardless of all this we get a game of footy, may be a little tougher and a bit unfair but i'd rather play than not

How do you justify this accusation?

p.s. will someone please explain to me why the sealads keeper was not sent off?!

sealads keeper quite probably deserved to be sent off if we were playing in..say.. the Central League for example, even in our league..but!

This is Cap 14 bud, i seriously doubt in the history of this league, or Cap13 when it was the lowest anyone has even received a card for much worse. Possibly Slayers or Mana could verify this?

yeah i understand that, it just seemed a bit hipocritical to complain about our ring-in changing the outcome of the game when you guys had the benefit of that decision

It is not hypocritical at all.

How ever you could have solved both problems by getting the central league player to ref, then you wouldn't have had to worry about the call, or fielding an ineligible player.

My understanding if you do get red carded in the lower leagues you just have to sit out 10-15 minutes and pay Capital Football some monies. not sure how much truth there is to this.

To be fair that was one moment in the second half, half way through it or whatever.. I'm not personally pissed off about Sam playing cos iv known him for years and he couldve crucified us if he'd wanted, more about Rob your ring in striker, he had more effect upon the outcome than anyone else in your team i think..the lines he ran and touches he had totally freed up your other striker to score(or atleast torment us), and i know he's not registered to any Wellington club, but to one in Otago so not sure on the ruling there.  And on the sam bit, it was impossible for us to get past him, you can't deny that, which in a way made it quite unfair.

Must admit it was a good game though

A yellow card from an official Referee is $37 or something around there, however, i doubt anyone would report a card in the lower leagues(or even have one on them!) so you can skip the money issue there

So, do we get to play you guys again, since the first game was cancelled?

He'd still need to sign a transfer I'm sure. Maybe he was signed in on the marque system? ;)

It was Harry then? Not too surprised. Yeah I don't think anyone of us knows the rules except for Tom and he was away. We're still guilty though and it would be right to at least apologise (unless of course Harry knew full well...).

I'm pretty sure this was the only game we fielded players registered with another club.

From capital football website:

4) On the receipt of a protest, if any Club is found to be in breach of the
Registration/Transfer regulation, the following procedure shall apply:
a) the offending Club shall forfeit any points gained - the opposing Club is to
be credited with a 2 - 0 winning result
b) a fine of $100.00 per unregistered player will be imposed on the offending
Club if a Champs Premier League team is involved, $50.00 fine for any
other League

I was at right back. So are the Sealords issuing a protest?

Whats missing here is the word sorry. Things can be forgiven if people are both playing in the right spirit and are honest when they stuff up. All I see is avoiding responsibility and not accepting that many of us with long histories in the game feel uneasy about the situation described.

We know the Sealads play in the right spirit...we have the evidence of their behaviour in games and off the pitch. Slaters, Martians and PC Mana always appreciate the "good" teams that beat us having the right attitude to the game.

If Uni Cycles want the right reputation try saying sorry....

poor baby, you lose the game then accuse us of cheating without any facts.  The team that beat you has a squad of 17 or 18 as not everone can commit to playing every week.  That is probably why some faces were different than when you first lost to them.  If some players look to good to be in this grade that is because most of them were playing in cap 2 last year.

I was about to in a previous post but wasn't sure I should go out on a limb and upset my teammates (I've been battling the 'whats right, standing by my team or admiting we did something wrong?' question). I'll do it anyway.

On behalf of the Unicycles team I wish to apologise for fielding ineligible players against the Sealads on saturday. We did so to play with a full side, not gain an unfair advantage. What we did was wrong and I will personally get the message through to the rest of the team that we have to be more cautious with team selection and be aware of the rules.

Sorry guys. We do try to play in good spirit.

fellas
Rules are ALL players listed on your team card must be registered for your club with Capital Football. If you are in doubt then check with your club captain.
You can play up to three regraded players from a higher division (they must comply with rule 1)
Non official referees will referee the game the same as normal ref would ie If they send someone off then they leave the field for the remainder of the game (not 10 minutes!). Only cards from official referees are liable for fines to CF - and you will not get official refs below Div5 (ish).

These are the CF rules that you must abide. Complaining about a refereeing decision is another kettle of fish.

I might have missed the post, but what is the story about saying the keeper should have been sent off? What did he do?

In my experience (7 years as a Slayer) the only send off's I have witnessed have been for fights and it's usually a players team mates who make the call. We have once this season.

I have not seen too many instances of continued blatant fouling and provided a ref calls them it doesn't seem to happen. Too many old wise heads scattered amongst the firebrand youngsters I think?

Critical Lemon. Thank you. I am much happier that you have done that. I hope we can all move on now.

The Sealads are a good bunch and I am sure they will accept your words in good faith.

Lets finish the season on a good note with all teams doing their best and playing with right attitude.

(Sorry for misspelling Slayers as Slaters.....hmmmmm).

It was your typical case of rushing out and tripping the player while going for the ball, it was right on the very edge of the area. Deserved at least a caution and some stern words which I think he got. It was a pretty clear foul, though the cynicism is debateable.

We all know what you mean Operwise

I agree with the attitude comment, there's been a great amount of good spirit and fair play in this league (as evidenced by us and Eastbourne playing with no reff with no hassles). Play hard but fair and all that PC jazz

I wish I could watch Slayers against Martians but we have to go to the Velodrome to play Critical lemon and the UniCycles.

I think it might be a 2-2 or 3-3 draw between you guys this time.

I suspect we will lose against UniCycles but heh who knows!

Well actually in our first season we were known as the "Flayers" thanks to someone mishearing the name over the telephone!

It was fitting but not quite what we wanted to be called.

It was a general statement more directed at the sealads game not ours (guessing your in upper hutt city).

And i do understand that players have come down from higher grades

And i will go have a cry in the corner i am quite upset
