That reminds me, we ruined one we got 2-3 years ago after someone spilt beer on it and all the ink seeped out. Don't think it lasted more than a couple of hours, let alone the whole night...

Hard luck to the Magpies - your current run is more than worthy of promotion and probably even the title! It's a pity there isn't a playoff format similar to rugby where 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3 in the semis. then the winners play the final to decide the winner of the grade! Would've been epic to have a Capital 7 Grand Final between Sealords and Magpies in front of a big K-Town crowd on Saturday before prize-giving.

Tough job for CF though, so many teams and clubs to organise.

I think we'll have a hard time convincing the Sealords to do that...

Also why weren't the May 17 results taken into account in the final 9 game tables. This was part of first round but not used ?! Would have made a difference to the top 4 placings !

CAPITAL 7: May 17
Petone Dreamers       2    Waterside Sealords    1
Petone Stewsmum       1    Wgtn Un Elite         0
Waterside Magpies     3    Olympic               1
Wgtn Un Terrace       2    Marist Inter          3
Uni Stallions         3    Stop Out              0
CAPITAL 7: June 7
Wgtn Un Elite         3    Petone Stewsmum       0
Waterside Sealords    2    Petone Dreamers       0
Olympic               2    Waterside Magpies     5
Stop Out              2    Uni Stallions         3
Marist Inter          1    Wgtn Un Terrace       4

How did Marist lose to Terrace??

Does seem pretty bizzare how they have picked the first round. although changing just these two games wouldn't have actually made a diff for who would get promoted since the table has us 4 points ahead of uni and uni won anyway.

I still reckon the fairest way is just to go with how it stands. Stiff sh*t if you have missed out on playing the easiest teams in the grade twice or whatever.

How did everyone go today?

Capital Football haven't posted the scores from today, so I just want to see how the table looks after full 15 rounds...

We continued our winning streak by beating Stop Out 11-0.

My post above <--- would have put maarist ahead of uni so my bad.

We drew 1-1 with elite. They are a decent team and played well and we were pretty average. Game got a bit niggly and we didnt handle it well and gave away far too many stupid fouls. Gave away a soft goal and our shooting was a bit off as well. Pretty disappointing end to the season but oh well.

Wow another massive win for you guys. Surely capital football have to sort this situation out. The two games with petone were cancelled today, ones was against terrace and not sure about the other one.

Surprised to hear you drew with Elite. From what I remember of them, they have a few big lads who like to throw their weight around, and a good Scottish guy in the middle who runs things for them, but I'd have picked you for a comfy win there. Anyway, congrats on your promotion, and hopefully we'll see you in Div 6 in a year or two...

Just to add insult to injury for the Magpies we (Uni) took a 3 nil hiding from Olympic.

An awful way to end the season, we were just woeful.

You think your hard done by, I play for the slapperz in capital 5, I believe we got relegated based on the first round. However as it stands we are now 7 points clear of 9th place (Nth Wellington), whom we beat on the weekend.

Yes somewhat regrettably we wont agree to a challenge, the Sealords firmly believe they are a side deserving of promotion into Capital 6 - albeit if we are the best or 2nd best in the league. And also just remember on H&A result we beat Magpies 4-1 on GD - and in fact I don't think there is a team that beats us on H&A result (correct me if I am wrong)

On paper and by results the Sealords and Magpies should be promoted, i would love to see Uni offer to have a final against the Magpies to decide promotion - however that probably wont happen will it??

To the magpies - if you would like a friendly this Saturday to fill in the empty spaces that the next month without Saturday sport will bring, please let me know.

Anyway to the rest of the league the Sealords would like to say congrats to everyone for a great season despite the weather...

Never count the Stallions out.

IF a suitable venue/time can be organised, and Cap Soccer/clubs agree to recognise it as a promotion game (doubtful?), we would certainly go another round against the Magpies. The more gametime the better we say. Have had good tussles with the Magpies this season (despite the trench warfare at Grenada), and would love another crack at them.

Its all a question of logistics and organisation really. The Magpies looked a rather more organised lot than us, so over to you to set this up ...

It would only be fair that Olympic had a crack at Petone as well. They are the real losers out of this scheme, and will presumably be relegated despite crawling off the bottom of the table in the second half of the season.

As Sealords#10 said, a good competitive Div 7 this season.

No word yet - a shame - the Stallions were excited about the prospect of another game - especially one with so much riding on it. Were the Sealords looking for a friendly? We wouldn't mind another shot against them either ...

Hmmmm, next weekend is a possibility, we've got our piss up planned for this weekend too, so maybe I'll float the idea with everyone.  Unfortunately I'll be away so I'd be keen to do it the week after but obviouslyt we can't suit everyone.

What's the deal with getting promotion put on the line?

If Magpies want to go to Cap Soccer and ask they can, it's up to them, but from what I've heard Cap Soccer have never been keen to have other individually organised games outside the season.

Looks like any hopes of a play off match have been dashed by regulations. Harsh on the Magpies. At least the Stallions played our part and were looking forward to an 'all on the line' game. Is the understanding that the 2 Karori clubs could play off for that spot? Surely the Sealords would back themselves and think about offering the Magpies a shot?

Probably too late to organise now, sorry - would have been good for one of us to claim bragging rights after the first round draw.

After the potential Magpies clash fell through the Stallions minds have turned to tomorrow's post-season festivities. With all these cancellations we haven't been able to support our gracious sponsor in a while ...
