In todays game between WU and WM there must have been atleast 6 yellow cards and 2 reds (both reds to the same guy). I'm sure both teams would agree that it was a reasonably clean game and most of the cards weren't necessary or warranted. I think it would be interesting to see the amount of cards given out by referees this year. I've been noticing a lot of soft cards in the last few weeks and it's becoming a joke. When its costing people money for just challenging for a ball it's rediculous. Correct me if I'm wrong but if a yellow is $30 and a red is $70 that's $320 in one game today. That's insane.

Fuck this stupid game

Care to enlighten us on the score of that Wellington United v. Marist encounter, please? Some naughty soul failed to call it through to Capital Football - it's the only result missing from today's round!

5 2 to Marist. Loads of bookings and a $10 fine for not phoning the result. Not sure why I bother

Thought I saw our manager on the phone... must have been something else.

Game was a shambles - the ref... well I thought he was alright (even though he told me off - and the red if it was for what people said, can't be argued with, our guy pushed a WU player), no offense to WU but they were terrible. First goal came from a corner only the ref saw, and the second goal, well I was being cheeky and came off the near post and the guy finished well.

We could have been looking at double figures on another day. Still another 3 for the goal difference aint bad.

Island Bay almost did us another favour today

Yeah I thought the ref was good apart from the cards. Even the first red could have been a yellow (I was the one he pushed). I have to agree we were terrible and things fell apart for us once again but "on another day"......

He was coming up with some stunners thats for sure. The only reason I really had a whinge is because he was just calling things, and I'm adament he coudn't tell (like the corner you lot scored off of eventually). Still credit to him, he stuck to his guns, only thing worse then a ref calling things he can't see, is one who then changes his mind

Oh no, I agree they went both ways, there were some free kicks and calls he was giving too us, and I thought to myself, rather him than me making the decisions. Because to me it just looked like the ball was hitting everyone

Yes if you hadn't gathered I'm bored and cold.

The Premier League has it, so lets see ours.

The last 4 games for the top 4 teams (order may differ though)

Olympic - Wainui, Marist, BNU, North Welly
Marist - Island Bay, Olympic, Wainui, Karori
Karori - Stokes Vegas, Welly Utd, Island Bay, Marist
Petone - Welly Utd, North Welly, Stokes Vegas, Island Bay

Out of that Marist with the toughest run, but Olympic have got BNU and North Welly who will be fighting hard for respect and to avoid relegation. Island Bay have got a horror run home, and have to be odds on to be looking at relegation.

I'd be willing to go out on a limb and say it will come down to the last game of the season between Marist and Karori to see who wins the league.

But we shall see

Karori did it east over Vegas, Titanic 2, and Island Bay in the first round - but I suspect the second time round will be a lot harder

Na he always said WU's keeper was better but I disagree. Pity he got injured and then moved away. I heard a rumour he was playing rugby in Gisborne/Hawkes Bay these days.

Wellington United beat us in the first half and weathered the best we could muster in the second half.  We looked like we might steal a draw but it wasn't to be.  2-1 maybe not a fair reflection but you've got to take your chances and they did that.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I assume the Dreamers can't get promoted which means the it's just a matter of deciding 1st and 2nd between Marist and Olympic.  Marist deserve to go straight back up as they were shafted by Wests and Lower Hutt last year.

Couldn't the Dreamers get promoted if the Wharf got promoted to Central League?

Yep.  Double promotion for the Wharf...imagine that.  Greene's head would actually explode.

Council might have to put some money into Karori Park...oh...wait...

And if Olympic win, then they may get promoted as well as the third team to Capital One if they win Capital Two..Could be a good year for Karori and Olympic.. wel c..

take a huge effort and team stacking for your cap2 to get promoted.

Could be a logistical nightmare for CF if Wharfies win the PL and then lost the playoff and the Dreamers also get promoted but then would get demoted.

Surely all will be decided long before it is a problem.  It's not like they have to come out with next season's fixture list in the next couple of months...

What I'm suggesting is that IF Wharfies got into Central League playoffs and lost, and the Dreamers had already got promoted (ie, as Champions) before those playoffs were finished, then the Dreamers would have to go back down.

But being Champions doesn't mean automatic promotion - like Smithy said, it would all be rsolved well before the start of the next season.

That senario still means the Dreamers wouldn't go up as I'm sure you can't have 2 teams from the same club in Premier. Then 2nd in Cap 1 would go up automatically and the 3RD would go into the playoff!

My question is also - what if Karori win both - top team goes into playoff for CL, loses that. Then won't the playoff Olympic/Marist had then become irrelevant, and after a possible 2-3 weeks off the 3rd place team in Capital 1 would then have to play a play off match?

Dont think there are too many implications for Bubbles/Marist (apart from a different opponent in the play off).

From when I read the regs a while back, if Karori win Cap1, then second plays bottom of CPrem. So its good for Nae/Wests/LH if Dreamers win.

Ahhh, so it's not like the second gets instant promotion and 3rd plays off.

Gotcha

Of course Marist will just win it all and make this discussion irrelevant

Frighteningly I think Greenie is right.

Either:

1. First place goes up and second place plays off with second last, or
2. First place can't go up in which case second place plays off with last place.

There's no way 3rd place can get involved and no way 2nd place can go straight up.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
