To be honest our capital 2 team doesnt even train and they pretty quality at times. They actually like the league they r in at the moment so dont c them wanting to go to Capital One with such competitive teams. As for stacking teams, I think ull be seeing the likes of Wests and Lower Hutt stacking teams to avoid relegation from Champs pavlos82009-07-20 20:23:22

Too late for Lower Hutt; they're gone.  Wests might, although I think Naenae are odds on to finish 9th in Champs Cap Prem regardless and playoff with whoever's 2nd in Cap 1.

I don't see the point in stacking those teams. Lower Hutt and Wests have struggled the last couple of years. The young players are better off playing in a grade below where at least they can win some games and gain some confidence. It can't be much fun being a striker at those 2 teams, stand on half way and watch your goal get peppered.

Seems Petone took that route that year, and from all accounts have had a pretty successful building year

I understand where your coming from in terms of confidence etc.. but also if a team from cap 1 gets promoted then your club will likely attract better player who want to play at champs premier quality as opposed to div 1.. and also for those players that get dropped from the 1st team, then its only a division below as opposed to dropping down two divisions to div one..

I think the top 2 clubs in the cap one league could battle for mid place in champs premier..

i think marist would do alright back in premier again, I don't think Olympic would though, they'd eventually self destruct. Unless they did what every other club did and stack their team.

Also won't who goes up and down depend on the Central League playoff system? What happens there?

Any club can say they might recuit more players and any club with a first team in central can say they will have guys appearing in both leagues.

Fuck this stupid game

Ye but you see say if Marist got promoted, they wont attract as good a players as if Olympic 2nd team got promoted. Think about it ay. Would u rather play for marist in champs premier. Or Olympic 2nds in champs premier, with the possibility of working urself into the 1st team squad that plays central league. Thats all Im saying.. and no not all clubs can say they will recruit players, because say clubs may be more appealing than others. I have already been told by various players for champs premier clubs that they would come to Olympic and play if our 2nd team got promoted. So only time will tell.

Marist till the Green and White cows come home...but then I would say that...who else has the $2 shop, Chris behind the bar's happy demeanour and freshly made rolls on a saturday, The Lilting tones of Brian Blellock encouraging you from the sideline, Davie Sears Slippers and The Crow?...No one... not even the boys from west of the Hellespont. So there.

Plus, notwithstanding not being an "Elite" club like Olympic, our first team lads play a pretty decent brand of football.

Just so you know bud, Olympic isn't as appealing as you make it out to be. You're clearly blinded by your passion and loyalty to the club which is fine but no need to sugar coat it and say every man and his dog will go there.

Yah was about to say the same  Nightz.

Wests and Lower Hutt's 2nd teams, both seemed to have been abandoned by their clubs this year, and are being left to fight their own relegation battle.

To bad it wasn't last year for Marist

Not fact with Wests.  Their team on Sunday was completely different to the team I watched a month ago and feature Rupert Ryan, Jayson Musgrove, Gareth James and a couple of other decidedly older-looking players that I didn't recognise.  The rest were still youngsters, with the Cain brothers arguably their best players.

I think Lower Hutt have resigned themselves to the fact that they don't have a squad for Capital Premier.  Sets up two great Lower Hutt-Petone derbies next year in Capital One.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I don't think Pavlos was saying that every man and his dog would come to the club, but instead that there is opportunity for other players who have been at Olympic before to come back and play for the club the same division they are in now but with the potential to go to central league.

and Olympic may not be appealing to you but it may be to a few good players who don't see themselves gettinga sniff in at miramar 2nds but possibly look at Olympic who could be the other potential club in the garde.

Not every other club. The Mar have survived last years cat scrap in the prem league, (smashing olympic's second team (with heaps of top first teamers) and done pretty well to be top 4 this year, (spent couple of weeks top of the league) as a second team!!

That's a GREAT result for the Wainui.  Well done those over-the-hill boys...

Wharfies and Greeks won so they go first and second respectively.  Island Bay beat Stokes Valley to climb above BNU at the bottom.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

IBU 4 over SV 3
We (IBU) pretty lucky in the end, almost like we wanted to throw the game away.  Went 1 nil down early in second half but came back to be 3-1 up.  SV then had a player sent off too so that should've been it but we conceded two of the softest goals you could ever imagine.  Then with 5 to go we got another to take the 3 points.  Just a massive relief is all I can say!

And next to us had Olympic vs. BNU and Olympic won 4-1.  Great result for us as we inch off the bottom.  Still plenty for us to do in the last two games though!...

Well that sure was something, transferred to a pretty but now destroyed Awakarangi 1, despite numerous attempts at keep it at a very nice Prouse (according to Wainui). The least CF could do, is have someone open the blimming changing rooms!

Anyway... ahh what to say, we missed and then scored a penalty (the ref didn't book either players who gave them away). They scored with a freekick shot/cross, which was in essence their only shot of the game.

The ref sent a player off from each team, can't argue with either. But he probly should have had about 6 off if he had been consistent. He gave, then disallowed a goal, after their keeper went on a mazy run, beat one of our players tried to beat another, ran into our player, fell over injured, and we rolled it into an empty net. He then spent about 90 seconds treating the keeper (only after the ball had gone into the net, he didn't go straight to the keeper), right next to their supporters, and then suddenly it wasn't a goal.

Story of our season really, can't score when we need to. We either draw a game, or hump a team by 3 or more

It was pretty much rage all over the sideline (from both camps) - I think the chant of 'ref send yourself off' was the best of the day

Our captain is brilliant, and could easily play prems if not higher. As for their Indian lad, thought for all the talk he wasn't that special

Totally Disappointed for the Ref..
Nothing, just nothing to comment...
I mean, some Ref need the time and game to grow up.
bad luck, its us this time.
