Bloody hell, they charge for entry to Central League games? I think I would riot if I turned up to Redwood Park and somebody told me I had to pay a fiver to get in.

There's some kind of marketing theory that not charging for a product suggests a thing is NOT WORTH charging for. Any marketing people out there to tell us more?

A few seasons back Gisborne City charged $10 for a Chatham Cup tie against Lower Hutt and a thousand paid. $10K is not to be sneezed at.

Agree. I went to this game last year and paid 10  pounds sterling to join the other 20 geezers in the stand. When I spoke to the Chairman later in the bar he said the croud was "about average". So I asked why he bothered with an entrance fee and he was bemused. "We're a football club, mate!"

oh obviously if 1000 people were willing to pay $10 then it'd be a good idea. 

Balancing financials would be one of your goals after all. 

I mean if 100 people turn up to watch Lower Hutt v Upper Hutt for free, or 10 people turn up paying $10 - then as a community football club maybe those extra 90 people would be better than the extra $100. 

As I said, depends on your goals and the costs/benefits of each option. 

I believe that the  newly drained and re turfed  Redwood Park is back in action. Also the field has been levelled out. Lets hope they have got it right this time.

City Rovers have always charged. I remember paying 50 cents to see taradale afc play in maybe central league division 2 or something in the early 90's

so not quite 12 Mar players yet...

Really good player from what I remember from when I coached college and we played Nayland College. He was a striker for them really fast and skillful. Would like to see if he is still as good as he was then and dribbling round people with ease.
