Great game at Park Island. Caversham scored very early and in the first half always looked dangerous. Near the end of the half NCR were winning those 50/50 balls and that carried into the 2nd half where they took charge with a penalty [no argument] and a beautiful goal. Hung on for about 25/30 minutes FTW. both sides played well in the conditions I thought.

Well pleased with those results.

A decision on the venue for the match will be made this week.

Solid throughout but with about 5 to go pulled off a Schmiechel-esque save to deny one of the Olympic strikers (think it was Gardyne). Absolutely remarkable save, hope someone got it on vid.

#5 for Rapa had the dirtiest hair i have ever seen.

Thought they would have had it sorted before now...having work out what could happen........so the ground staff / council etc  have a week to get the pitch into top condition for a final

Borren was busier of 2 keepers for sure. Danny Robinson never had to make a save. Bay probably can't blame anyone for losing, just that Wairarapa had the one chance and took it. I'd say that if the two Fijians at the back keep fouling as much as they did, they both wont finish the final. Scott Robson had a monster game at the back.

No venues free in the lower North Island that can be broadcast from as far as I understand. What about a cricket ground like Basin Reserve?

HN, I believe that is right about Park Island - used for RWC training but I'm not sure if there is any limit on how many days out the ground must be empty. I know there is for playing venues but the rugby teams will only be here a couple of days before their games - Only Canada are here for more than a few days and thye are across the road at the rugby ground [different venue]. There is the Regional Sports Park here that has a decent new stand but poor draining field - nowhere else would be suitable and available around here.

They needed to know who was in the final though, if Bay Olympic were in it they wouldve just gone back to North Harbour, but they kind of cant now.

Isn't NH Stadium being used for World Cup too? if that was free then Park Island would be free I'd imagine.

Basin is no go.

A) it's not fit for football (rugby at a stretch) and
B) it's also a RWC training ground.

i wouldnt rule it out. Kind of makes sense really if nothing else that's suitable is available.
