That Auckland region is just a cracker draw, at least two very very good sides are going to be knocked out this round.

From a Waikato perspective, all three sides will be favoured to win their games, but all could also very easily lose. Cup magic.

Hamilton should really win theirs comfortably. I know Mangere have been banging in the goals in Div 2, but Premier League opposition is a few notches above that, and at the Porritt, Wanderers should win.

Can't see Melville losing to Pap, although they did shock Westlake so who knows. Narra will have a tough time at the mountain.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yeah there were people saying that HW were the team most in danger, definitely don't agree with that, haven't seen Mangere this year but Lopez apparently is just a classy player. Can't be losing to a Div 2 side though.

Melville played Papatoetoe just two weeks ago, it was a very unconvincing 1-0 win so I wouldn't rule anything out there, and well Narra are capable of anything!

Karori goal scorers were Andrew Gordon (3), Hayden Polyanzsky, John Sutherland (pen), Matt Lewer.

Lewer also hit the bar in the last minute .. could have been 7-0.

Big turn around in two days.

Fuck this stupid game

To GGW

I'm a fan of your work and think you should be doing the Phoenix coverage.

If I could offer a constructive tip on the YouTube video of the the draw, a little smile would not hurt. Otherwise great.

What do people think is the game to go to in Wellington area this weekend? Can't make my mind up, as no huge match jumps out.

Currently leaning toward Tawa vs palmy Marist could be ok. Lower Hutt v karori could be close with a potential upset.

And Island Bay United vs. Wellington Olympic is now scheduled for 5:45pm kick off. Get down to Wakefield after your match for a cracking game between the eyeties and Greeks!

Plus, hoping to have ABs on in clubrooms after so won't have to go far!

interesting.  we were told we couldn't have our CC game more than an hour either side of 2pm - which is a shame because we would have done something simular to the above - great concept!

Not if we are going on what they put out last week they don't

Yeah I don't think fans of BO should be as bullish about their teams chances. They were extremely average last week.

Awesome results in the Waikato, three teams through to the last 16 for the first time ever. Went to the Wanderers game, was 0-0 at halftime before Wanderers realised Mangere can't defend corners, 4 goals coming from corners, most of them uncontested, no jumping headers. Three goals for Mark Jones and two for Michael Built.

Then shot over to Gower to watch the end of the Melville game, which was 1-1 in extra-time. In the short time I was there, there was a goal-line clearance, a red card, a penalty and the eventual game-winner, 2-1 Melville.

There aren't too many teams to be scared of left in the Auckland region, Olympic and the winner of Birko v Glenfield are going to be the two best sides left but everyone is beatable, hoping for some more good draws for the Waikato sides.

We went to Bay Olympic. What a difference a week makes

A: coach/team killer Jo Bresnahan slides in on a yellow, misses everything except player and gets a 2nd. The clearest yellow (2nd) you will ever see and he has a whinge about it. Pack up son, seriously.

B: Phil Edginton: most over rated CB going? Liability +1.

C: Are footballers really this dumb? Chad Coombes thinks he is playing netball in the penalty box.

D: Willy. When you get smashed 5-1, it's a poor look blaming the surface/injuries you don't actually have/officials/Bill and Ben... You got beaten. Fess up and be humble.

Otherwise average football and failed to be called a 'game'. If this is the team that will go on and win the Chatham Cup, then it's not saying much for the calibre of club sides and regional football. A couple of goals where the strikers have time in the box to have a heavy touch, regather and then turn and shoot. Do defenders not defend anymore?

Just for anyone planning to go along who didn't see the news:

GROUND TRANSFER: Glenfield v Birkenhead has been moved from McFetridge (unplayable) to Taharoto Park, 2pm.

From Chatham Cup facebook page:

POSTPONEMENT: The big derby in Dunedin between Caversham AFC and Dunedin Tech has unfortunately been postponed due to a flooded pitch. Details of the rescheduled fixture will be announced asap. The fourth round draw will still go ahead tomorrow.

Maxim Manko's opening goal the highlight of a poor game.
