UH play Mar this weekend - who dont have a CL game. hmm. Then again Mar would prefer UH to go to CL (over Wgtn Utd who are more their player market)

I reckon mar will still be thinking they are in with a shot to win it themselves, they still have 2 games against welly united to play. Wouldnt mind a dom rowe or similar lining up for mar this week

how does this work?wests 1sts play on a saturday all season, while their 2nds play on a sunday, for their benefit!!wests 2nds are bottom of premier in a battle for relegation with wainui and marist. yet looking at the draw for this weekend their 2nds are away to marist on saturday, yet wests 1st team are at home to tawa, but game scheduled for SUNDAY!!how can this be, obviously they are going to stack the 2nds even more to try and keep them up.is this fair??

Draw was made in March though so there would have been no way of knowing. I'm fairly sure other teams might drop players too

i realise draw done back in march, my point is all of a sudden why this week has wests 1st team been allowed to play their home game v tawa on a sunday, when all year in the draw they have played at home on a saturday??have they been allowed by capital football to change to suit their 2nds for this week only??

its been the same for years mate, every central league team gets to have their second team play at a time and a park that is completely convenient to their 1st team whilst all other clubs in other grades just have to make do for whenever their second team gets to play, usually at a field on the other side of town on the same day. doesn't really even the playing field much.

Why would the Marist player be surprised? He stepped in front of the keeper twice while the keeper was kicking the ball, so it wasn't a mistake! Capital Football need to look at the quality of the pitches and the refs that they want to use in the higher grades. In order to have quality football there needs to be quality pitches and quality refs for NZ's football to grow.

Well perhaps you had a better view than me - I was on the other side of half-way. I didn't say it was a mistake I'm saying initially it looked like he was being a pest (and could well have been penalised by some refs) and then turned away before the ball was kicked. Overall it looked a bit of a Minties moment from the UH keeper from where I was standing.
If you're standing on top of the keeper and he makes to punt it, turning your back is quite fashionable as it protects the jewels.  From what I've heard of the ref's performance, the keeper did not have much choice but to try it, as he'd probably have been done for holding on too long if he didn't.  Perhaps more a minties moment - or match - from the ref, the refs association, and the Cap Fed for scheduling a Premier match on a cow paddock.

Come off it.  When was the last time a keeper got pinged for the 6 second rule.

Yeah and some keepers need to get ahold of it before they have the problem of getting rid of it TopLeft072011-07-19 11:26:40

With half the teams in this divison being club first teams, do they produce match programmes or is this just a Central League thing.

Why are we writing small??

Really pedro?? That's just a massive moan because they got done. Things go against you sometimes but you can only blame what YOU didn't do to win. I can bet most other teams will have felt hard done by this season but to moan about the ref publicly is poor form. Hope CF don't ignore it.

nils at Nui. Wharf had the first half but found it tough to still the ball in. Nui came back in second half with a couple of chances.
I take back what I said about Kapitis changing rooms - Nuis are hands down the worst

Hows the pitch holding up out there?

The pitch was a goat track. The changing room situation is a debacle out there and quite honestly is unnacceptable, if sides want to play at this level they need to sort their infrastructure out. No dugouts either, an abortion from start to finish.

*disclaimer - this report comes from a boozed slightly hypothermic keeper at Wellington airport*

ARF - Wests, ahahahah. What a freaking shambles of a game.

Wests played with the wind the first half - I probably touched the ball 3 or 4 times in the field. Took about a dozen free kicks. We played well into the wind, got in behind a few times. There supposed Central League lads including one called 'Adam' up front, weren't very interested. And the aforementioned Adam liked to whinge about everything. Do you not get tackled in the Central League.

From the sounds of it the Wests coach was wanting the game called off at half time. The ref didn't. We proceeded to score 4 really good goals. Wests got a man sent off for telling the ref something involving the F word. I didn't touch the ball in the second half. All in all, Wests deserve to get relegated. And I think everyone owes Marist a beer if they do!

Right - I'm off to get more beer!

I'd say there would be a few boys who'll be regretting signing up for that wests team part way through the season.  Sounds like the last few weeks have been a bit of a shambles for them.

From what I have heard though there wasn't a mass stacking of Central league players though, just the 3 subs for tomorrows Central league side.  Just what I heard as have no idea what the line-up was.

Going to goal difference for the title or will one of the top 2 make a mistake? Kaori only potential stumbling block for upper hutt while last 2 games against miramar for welly united could be tough

particularly if you consider mar firsts have two games left - one this weekend and then they play their last game against wairarapa three weeks later. I've also been told that mar reserves will be up for the united games, seams they really want to win those two.TopLeft072011-07-25 11:11:40
