Didn't I already have a frank exchange of ideas with PT about the moral high ground a ways back? If you want to be truly superior, then be honest. If it gets you in the shit, then you learn. Liars do a great job of avoiding/redirecting criticism or consequences and convince themselves they are winning, when in reality, they are scared of change to the point of paralysis.
And doggedly repeating "It worked in the past/back in my day/it happened at Rangers" like some kind of verbal mantra that will make everyone respect your longevity, as if you are footballs Yoda, (too late, Arsenio Venga has that title!), is not going to change the fact that it was wrong then, and is wrong now.
Perks and kickbacks, cheap boots and no subs is one thing, but thousands of dollars?? I suspect they may be having a quiet giggle at the poor club who is paying them out...
Like to be where he is now, longest serving Prem. coach and doing quite well.
It is not wrong and it does work.
Ok with perks but not big money? Where is your line?
It happens across the world, the better the competition the greater the reward.
Players like to be appreciated, serious players like to be rewarded. If you know any, ask them. They also like to be amongst like minded committed people, other players and club supporters. Ask them to tell you what makes them tick, what gets them off their butts and to training. Not the ones who just want to play, the ones who want to achieve. Those with ambition. Talk to the supporters that get off their butts, they will tell you they want to see a better game. The players want to play in it (a better game).
Happy with local pub football then stick to it. There is a good Sunday League, but not a lot of supporters watching.
Believe me it is easy to be honest when you have nothing to hide !!!
