Unlikely be be any play-offs as Suburbs 2nd team leading up north follows by Nelson College with Richmonds well back in third place.

DE wants a shot at the Dragons squad under the new coach.
Word from the the side lines is he will be back at Selwyn next season.

Don't think Suburbs will win it. But regardless, I doubt there will be a playoff. I don't think Nelson College could go into the MPL could they?

Good move as Div 1 almost over so will get 8 games to add to his MPL goal tally, currently on 65, would be good bet to be the first to crack a ten of MPL goals.
Heard from a couple of good souces that Dan will be overseas for six weeks during the ASB season.

I guess you could say with a tally of 65 goals in MPL should had chance with dragons before but obviously KB never thought he was good enough.
I'm guessing a complaint from a match this weekend is imminent.
E's Flat Ah's Flat Too
I guess it depends whether you go under point 12 or point 13 of the regulations ..that is the point....referencing a 1 match ban to a 5 match ban would only work if you knew what occurred and which points they were banned under
does it say you can get kicked out the Chatham cup for playing hoff ball
Don't hassle the Hoff

On another note altogether, I see Mainland have changed their mind once more with regards to Masters leagues. The final round of the grading has been abandoned as has splitting us into 4 leagues of 6. We now split into 3 leagues of 8 with a 7 game league starting this weekend. Probably a good call at the end of the day but it'd be nice to know ahead of time what they're thinking/doing. Hopefully they stick with this now and have a proper one up, one down system from these leagues to start next year without the debacles we've had this season

From the Chatham Cup thread, it was CC related however more relevant in here:
Broonie:
I do like when you lads from coastal dish it out, after defeat , I'm usually a bit more humble . Nobody at tech blames you for playing at linfield , it is your home pitch , you were offered asb but preferred linfield fair call . But your last comments about receiving money for new sand base pitch, disagree tech and Woolston well before have paid good money over the years to make Garrick , one of the best in the country so good on the good people of the committee chasing funding for a legacy that will hopefully produce good kids that can hoff it on good and bad pitches. My uncle was a good new Brighton man and bought a bond to create the indoor at bexley, great facility . You also had rangers park which cost money to up keep, so sold on
2 million plus , good legacy opportunity. Or sit on it and slag tech for being pro active about creating one
Me: I had no part in slagging Tech after the game on here, although it is one of my favourite past-times. Nor did I bother to put anything in the programme to retort your strange ramblings last week. If I wanted to hassle Tech, I'd have mentioned the embarrassing "let's go to the Disco" chant your team carried out on the pitch in front of us after scraping past with a penalty. But I won't mention it.
In regards to our stash of cash, we have to be prudent with it, considering it is our people's money. And with insurance wranglings still going on (it's happening all over Chch I know, you should see my house) we would be stupid to risk things in the future by spending it now. We would also be even dumber to spend it on CCC grounds considering we sold Rangers Park as it's simply not a money-maker to own a park. The difference between us and the money received at Tech, is that it's not your money. If I remember correctly, it's come from Sky, some earthquake recovery, and now FIFA. For your supporters to hassle us for playing on the shitty pitch we have, it just as bad as hassling a wining team for playing hoof ball.
And I honestly have no idea who Global Game is. Not from my circle as far as I know.
I let my guitar speak for me
good to see the bitterness and jealousy back vim... What strange ramblings r u talking about .
You lads couldn't have been that close because it's let's all have a disco. And is that the same supporters that shouted your successful women's team beers and meal after thier knockout cup win last year
danny boys will be upset he's releasing it as a cd next week, I take it you won't be buying it
just quietly Vim were u not slagging Claire park a few weeks back
No bitterness and jealousy, I thought I summed it up quite nicely there. And it was your ramblings in your programme I was referring to, something about me loving Tech and something about Ekow I forget.
I got the words wrong in your chant I apologise, my point was it was a little embarrassing all things considered.
Thanks for the beers and food.

vim il teach you my "let's all have a disco". It was a very hard game that we were delighted to win so the disco came out. Hopefully you will be hearing lots more this year.
Take your pants off
Broonie, I'm not asking you to justify or defend your winning tactics on Saturday or any other day; and I'm certainly not questioning their success. This is not about defending the honour of your team; or how successful the team's has been in recent history. Everyone can read the stats.
I'm asking a bigger question: can we do better?
"!@#$ Better than win!" i hear you ask. Yes that IS what I am asking.
You may like to stop reading right here, because you may think it's an unfair question to ask. If that's your take on it, so be it. If you can take your club colours off for a moment, read on.
My point is this and nothing more than this: The Chatham Cup is the highlight of the club football calendar. It is the only opportunity we have at club level to showcase football to an audience beyond Vim and his mates and his drunken dog (sorry drunken Vim and mates and the dog) and the septugenarian and octagenarians who attend every game no matter what. Winning is important to clubs; but the style of winning is important to growing the sport and keeping kids in the sport. Little Johnny and his parents won't see many local heroes they want to play like from that game, will they?
If the best team in Chch doesn't play attractive football that can bring in the casual fans and inspire the kids, where are the next Aarons going to come from? Can we do better? This is a question for clubs, not Mainland.
Kotahitanga. We are one.
just quietly Vim were u not slagging Claire park a few weeks back
I bloody well love Clare Park, spent my junior juniors there and had a rematch a month or so back against the mighty Chch Utd.
I hope Danny does a better version than this.

global
If kids aspire to play mainland premier league football then we do have an issue I would hope they aspire to play epl. And global you obviously are deluded if you think playing mpl will be a springboard to being a pro .
I don't think you answered my question of how many tech games u have watched , because I think the lads play a great brand of football ask them.
Have u been watching the global game in the World Cup
yeah vim that rendition was terrible, I would have done a better 1 if we lost.
Take your pants off
Here is my original post. It seems my forecast was accurate!

Relax Broonie. You are jumping to conclusions that aren't there. I never implied MPL was a springboard to anything, let alone pro. Where did you get that from? Goodness, ain't that the truth though?
Of course kids aspire to play in a pro league and of course they watch their heroes on sky but what about when they do get down to see park football? Most of them are certainly not attending games regularly at Garrick or anywhere else in town. Ever wonder why? But they might get to a Cup game. However they won't be back for the football after what they saw. Sure, some cash tech kids might be back to see a win.
Don't you see any role for local clubs in growing the sport through the football of their senior teams? But I see you're still defending your team, so we'll have to disagree on the brand of football that was played.
Answer: I've been at approx 12 cashmere technical games over the last 12 months.
And you're drawing a ludicrously long bow to suggest any comparison between Saturday's game and the football in Brazil.
Kotahitanga. We are one.
The Techs [DT & CT] to battle out for Chatham Cup semi final spot in Dunedin on the 26th July.
Another catch up game for CT, could be a Cashmere Tech v University with relegation on the line as the last game of the season. .
Can CT go unbeaten for the rest of the season in league and cup.
A big ask but some donkeys have won the Grand National just by getting over the next fence, so one game at a time.
Remember no one gives a toss later on how you win just that you did.
Should paint that last bit on the Nomads dressing room wall.
Not saying that CT have donkeys for players.
Is the Fridge still coaching dunedin tech after being appointed Otago/Southern coach?
Kotahitanga. We are one.
Is the Fridge still coaching dunedin tech after being appointed Otago/Southern coach?
No. Aaron Burgess in the gaffers spot.
Just for Vim.
Thanks for the reminder about Tulett Lake, the Jet Sprint boat goes better this year with this new council facility.
The team the boots get put on for haven't had a home game at Tulett this season and only 3 training runs there.
Good job we [Nomads masters team] have a nice school that lets us use the manicured pitches during the summer and a gym in winter and hot showers afterwards.
Closer to the pub as well.
Global so you said it's the clubs not mainlands role to develop kids. So why have FTC , I thought that is why the best young kids go there to develop as they don't get it in clubland so they say.
I'm still tossing up whether u r a mainland coach or Ekow , I'll probably need to keep guessing because you probably are one that won't put your knackers on the line to improve the game.
The game is about opinions but sometimes they need to be credible to back them up
Vim we weren't embarresed with our song were u offended with it. You celebrate your wins as it could be a defeat next week and you face up to the winner with no songs and no excuses just congrats .
When we were haveing a beer last week u never mentioned you were pissed with my tongue in cheek comment in the programme.
As for Ekow , I won't apologise for that as he lacks a bit of class slagging the opposition at will, then doesn't front in the aftermath after a defeat
I'll leave on this note because I actually think you are good passionate man vim. But I don't think I've ever slagged coastal on here as a team I've responded to my club being slated, I try and not cast the first stone ( biblical term ,u could have put that in the programme only joking) You have a good team at coastal and I can't understand why you are in a relegation battle but good luck , and if we had had a loss at the weekend although disapointed it would not have been that hard to swallow as u are decent team and cup football can go either way
- FTC is still a 50/50 call in my opinion. Some clubs can do it better, some don't do it at all so probably a good thing in the bigger picture.
- Definitely not Ekow - full sentences and punctuation etc.
- Yer maybe more offended than embarrassed, maybe more embarrassing for others.
- Not pissed about the programme, just thought weird comments on this forum made it into an MPL programme. The programme is pinned to my wonky wall.
- Pretty sure there has been slagging, personal stuff about employment too remember? Ouch, still hurts.
Are we done?
I let my guitar speak for me
yep.
What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?
That was for global as I agree it should be with clubs, but his rant didn't make sense in the current environment .
I agree I gave it to you but above I stated I have never slagged a club or thier players, only face to face if we have someone like Ekow yelling that they are coming to get me ,
But I will retire to my bed to watch today's highlights of WC
On a positive note we did get a few of the coastal oppoligise to us about xaviers unuasual rant in the after match .
Allan walker and Garath Turnball also said on the after match that they thought the cup tie was a typical cup tie which was great to watch and be involved in so shows you how options differ global
yep.
Thought you would be lurking in the corner.
I let my guitar speak for me
the disco was not meant to offend anyone, least of all my mates at coastal. But the speech the week before put the feelers on for the disco.
Take your pants off
not true that global could be my ex rangers gk printing legend
Surely not
