Yes Waterside-Karori won the Tsunami Tournament late last year. Feverish will be able to tell us whether that under 19 team is the same as the senior women's team.

Basically that team plus a few others like Football Fern striker Rene Leota. Gonna be a cracker of a match.

Feverish team talk before the game: "Now, remember girls, football is a team game, so make sure you all pass the ball to Renee".

But to be fair, the side has some cracking young women footballers and Renee adds the experience and class to make them a really enjoyable side to watch.

All good no offence taken. You Wgton folk don't come to this thread often enough to comprehend the amount of blah blah and water-duck's-back that goes on.

Now, back to that interesting Masters 45's vs Div 6 vs Pressies debate...

I think it's still in progress of being organised. Plan A is that it is at 2:30 on the 21st of Aug with the Premier Men as a curtain raiser. How things have changed! Nothing locked in at this point.

Looking at tonights Nelson Evening Mail I see Marlborough lost on Saturday to FC Nelson Utd and  Richmond won over  Suburbs so Richmond now 8 points clear, still both teams have six games to play.  AllWhites822011-08-09 22:17:45

Well that's game over then isn't it? No word on them doubling up games to hurry up the playoffs? Bet FC2011 (I hate typing that) don't really wanna wait 6 weeks.

I see on the NZ Scoreboard site game showing as a 12:30pm KO on the 20th.

Oops sorry I got the Sat/Sun mixed up. Yes we aiming for the Sat 20th as both teams have girls in Secondary Schools champs that start on the Monday and it would mean big changes. Also aiming for a 2:30 kickoff in order for more promotion and matchday feel. Both things need a whole lot of organising so don't quote me on that...

Cannot see details on the Nelson Football website, they have not updated any dates for the catch-up games.

Will be interesting to see if this happens as in recent seasons Mainland have sted that all the final round games kick-off at the same time / day to avoid any colusion of results, more for teams at the bottom of the table.

Just remembered, are the Coastal men's playing on the 20th as I was told by a 1st team player that they were looking to move that game so they so head to Dunedin to want the Phoenix play in their pre-season game.

Men still playing on the 20th, and commonsense will hopefully apply seeing as NZ cup semi. Men's game is vs Tech and seeing as only first and last matter, it shouldn't be an issue should it?

No issue here.  If the rugby has finished put the goalposts up on the main pitch.

they'll never make it . A club treasurers nightmare, thank god the men got knocked out in the round of 16 or it would be us hitching to Napier.

Speaking of money out, money in, cha-ching, hey Ronaldoknow, how are entries shaping up for the Tsunami this year? (feel a bit weird typing that after events in Japan!)

Really good, all the boys teams from last year are back by the look of it plus Bays this year. Unfortunately the girls champions Waterside Karori won't be back because the muppetts at NZF have decided to start the National Womens Youth league that weekend, f**king brilliant not.
Draw should be out soon.

And the co-operation of Woolston Tech which didn't happen unfortunately.

Did they threaten to default the match?

I'm guessing the switching of timeframes needed Tech's agreement which they didn't, so we are going for a 12:30pm Women's kickoff and normal 2:45 Men's.

Woulda been nice but thems the breaks.

Will be fun if it goes to extra time & penalties, the mens game might finish in the dark :)

Playing on different pitches so not an issue.
The club wanted to turn the game into a high point of the season for womens football in the Mainland region as well as the club. The womens premiers have been the flagship of the club for the past few seasons. Wanted to play the men at 12:00 as a curtain raiser to the girls game kicking off at 2:30 which would have also let all other women's teams come and watch if they wanted to. Trying to promote the game, alas to no avail.

Haha no, this is men's football which they take seriously.
Nice dig though .

Footnote: For all the angst and hassling of other teams I would just like to add that I heart football and will be very upset once the season ends in only 3 weeks.

Play on.

Not sure where that result came from. Halswell smashed Coastal 4-0. Was a no-show from the Coastal boys and Halswell ran riot.

The Nomads Utd result certainly makes it interesting for next week.
