There's banter - then there is whatever that was.  Not really welcome I'd imagine.

Sounds like even the fat controller can't get the train back on track.

I've had to hide a post and a couple of replies. Let's keep the banter at a friendly level in here, and keep it civil too.

just got copied in , shark

Vim how can you vouch for all that is Coastal

Tbh it doesn't worry me I've been called worse , but I will stick up for one of my own.

Ac has done a lot for football and what Wayne said earlier , of course if a player is getting kicked up and down the park, and getting slagged by the train from the sideline, of course he can retort , would expect it from the opposition. But Wayne does he talk it up weeks before the game or even hours, and does he gloat weeks after the game or even hours. So don't agree with your shark

Nope, just not getting involved in a useless public argument which will no doubt come back on me despite having nothing to do with it. I don't vouch for my whole club (if that's where it came from) in the same way you don't vouch for yours.

I don't vouch for my whole club but I don't make comments that it's not one of us , and if you don't want to be involved why comment

Hi all. Long time listener first time caller!!

First of all in the interest of full disclosure I am a Coastal Supporter too - sorry Broonie - & I'm as happy as anybody to see our MPL team taking a leap forward this year to be a contender in the top 3 rather than just flogging away mid table (ala Liverpool) but at this stage we are still just contenders - & will continue to be just contenders until we do actually win something!!

In the meantime it is important to have some humility & respect for your club, your opposition & your self when posting - I enjoy a laugh at the banter on here - most of which is brilliant - but lately some of it has got a bit O.T.T. & frankly a bit emabarassing

Always remember there have been many good times ruined, with people left feeling empty & disappointed, as a result of premature celebrations!!

Slushy, I am merely highlighting the fact Coastal have called themselves the "Train". Despite not having won a championship let alone a couple on the bounce to even warrant the nickname. It's just a little weak especially considering they've adopted it from another club a little further south.

TBF Kennedy, Coastal Train sounds better than Coastal Spirit which is a bit too Southland Spirit...

Hey JB don't get me wrong, I was surprised a player of AC's class bothered to have a chat tbh, I thought it was a bit pointless but still a bit of a hoot. From what I saw he was giving as good as he got as you'd expect. Good game, great atmosphere and looking forward to the next one. Well played.

AW might be able to provide some figures of MPL games played by members of each team. I imagine it's a telling stat to support your point.

Why is there always one person, known or not, who has to miss the point of banter entirely and lower the tone for all concerned? Poor.

I am glad I missed it

now that the wife and kids have told me to stop walking about the house with my top off ,the buggers were following me about spraying detergent on everything I touched,  I can now talk about our visitors yesterday Selwyn.

They did your club very proud they worked there socks off and defended very well. Also the way they conducted themselves in the after match was top notch, they looked very smart in their shirts and ties, they certainly are setting their own standards off the field , and judging by thier apparent love for thier club on the way they worked on the field, sooner than later they will playing teams like Tech most weekends.

I take my hat off( don't worry I'll leave my top on) to Selwyn

Holy Guacamole!! Has all of this come of my nickname "Coastal train" ? No premature celebrations here, we are celebrating the fact that we are top 3 and got a club record for wins in a row. We are celebrating the fact that mid season we were up against the cities best players and a win would put us top. THESE TIMES ARE CELEBRATION TIMES. You cant stop that Broonie.

There is nothing wrong with that. Coastal supporter numbers at games still increasing and we are having a bloody great time.  Players from both teams appreciated it last night as FC pushed us all the way to the 120th Minute. WHAT A GAME!! Nothing will stop our party.

For the record, I didnt know to call myself the train meant we have had to of won anything? The train has only just started rolling. The train has a long journey. The train wont stop. And from reading the comments from Tech pro, the train is a threat...

I have watched maybe 70% of our games and I think we keep on improving. In the mean time LET US PARTY! We will continue to try keep things as respectful as possible. But as always, fans will make noise over a bad call or bad tackle etc etc thats all part of it. LET US HAVE OUR PARTY.

Love it how the media made it clear there were more Coastal supporters then Tech Supporters on Saturday. YEAH BOY!! Cant wait to play Tech again, gosh this is fun

I was thinking the new poster makes  a valid point about MPL experience. Cashmere have bought in a host of players with significant MPL games under their belts - White, Kelly, Terris, Clapham et al must have played hundreds of games at MPL level and above. Was wondering what the current Cashmere squad total number of MPL games is, compared to say, Coastal.

HOLY testicle Tuesday! Can you believe it. We get our rematch !!! Come one come all. Hopefully our numbers will be doubled. It was awesome to see players from other clubs jump on the beat Ca$h Tech bandwagon and joining the train last game. Be great to see more members from other clubs link arms.

P.S I hope this is not an example of celebrating prematurely? The train is just super excited. Is that ok?

On a side note, much love to Tech Captain #5 we were giving him banter for a good 20 mins straight and he gave it back with some quality responses haha I actually think he loved it and made him play better. Might make fun of #11's right foot instead :O

Or is that too disrespectful Broonie? hahahaha LET US PARTY

Don't think a 12-4 result is likely in a cup tie, but you never know!

So, as long as you dress nicely and behave yourselves at the after match, you will be in CashTechs good books? If only I had known...

I suspect however,  (given I work at a school) that this is more of a "compliment the child showing the behaviour you prefer so the noisy kid gets the message" tactic. Subtle. And it works on most of the kids most of the time.

It does tend to rely on the person doing it being in a recognised position of authority though, as well as the noisy kid giving a toss, so it fails on both counts

Choo Choo!!!

actually slush my man it was genuine response to a club that impressed me , if you read back l always congratulate a club when we get beat. I think most of what you do at the games is ok, some not, and believe it or not I have a lot of time for your players as 8 of them were once under my watch . Also when the time comes and coastal beat Tech or win a trophy I will be one the first to congratulate personally and on here,. Same as Gunnie, I couldn't think highly of her and what she has achieved and I always tell her when she wins. The way she conducts her self is top class ,maybe people should follow her lead
