Incorrect comment, who is "everyone" ? no one at Halswell has any hatred towards Selwyn, in fact good luck to them, all the hatred seems to been coming back the other way

We need some love in the SW. Not hate.

My son has been at both clubs which a number of boys have. They are totally different in the way they go about things. This year is the first real year they have given youngsters a chance and to be fair the lads have looked good when I have watched.

I love what selwyn are building.they have developed a good squad and have given the youngsters the chance to improve themselves. The game against tech was great for the club going forward they learnt a lot from the experience

Looking back in recent season's the cub that wins promotion seems to stay up for two seasons with ChCh United the only team to be up and down in the same season as was in 2015, before that:

Nomads relegated in 2014, were promoted 2013 - finished 7th

FC Twenty11 relegated in 2013, were promoted in 2012 - finished 7th

ChCh United relegated in 2012, were promoted in 2009 - finished 6th, 5th in 2010 and 7th in 2011

Universities promoted in 2014 finished 7th and then 5th in 2015 and currently 6th.

With Halswell and Western currently to two bottomed placed sides their placing have been:

Halswell: 2015 7th, 2014 6th, 2013 5th, 2012 5th

Western: 2015 6th, 2014 2nd, 2013 4th, 2012 6th

Big ups to FC. Was a rare occasion to play the same team twice in a week which was rather amusing. Its great to see another team with such a young average age giving youth a crack over has beens or big fish in small ponds. A team that clearly has a game plan and is very well coached. A team that doesnt rely on individual brilliance but more of a collaborative effort. I have managed to watch all three games against FC this season and they gave us trouble in all of them. Can definitely see this team in the top three in a couple years similar to what we have done. Dont know how they havnt picked up more points against other teams? Or maybe we are just not as good as we currently think we are?

Great to see what Ryan Stanley can do when hes used the right way.

Also, its been confirmed Coastal will have a new signing and hopefully be involved in the Nelson game this weekend. 25 of us going up for a road trip. God its great being a Coastal fan!!!

Nelson away then Tech Chatham at Garrick. It doesnt get any tougher then that does it.

P.S I run the transfer goss past the Messiah and he didnt seem care so im chirping up :p

Good Luck have fun.

Train couldn't agree more around fc, believe they are well coached with clear game plans and have a good young squad and for the most able to execute that well.. Some may say the standard is not great, I disagree. On the whole I feel all teams are looking to foremost play a positive brand of football, apart from Broonie who has immense experience and someone I have huge respect for, the rest are extremely green to the coaching scene and I think they are all doing a great job. Be interesting to get Broonie and AW's perspective on the other coaches and how they are going about things...

Ive never seen him play.... Im told hes pretty good/really good and could well fight for a starting spot. Hes not from New Zealand so I dont think its anyone you will know.

Messiah has got some crazy reach going on.... surprised hes looking at adding to his squad with how good things are going but...... if hes that good then I guess he can be a fan favourite

Neither does he. It's Portugese you want in this case...

Looked like full varsity side to me. Not sure on selwyn as Ede came on half time. Was 1 all till 70 minutes and could have went either way. Didn't look like varsity liked their oppositions physical play

Not full Selwyn side. 3 other starters on bench and Dan replaced an ill player just on halftime. Selwyn traditionally never 'stood up' for itself in terms of physical play for years. Giving back a bit more these days. No way endorsing foul play and the 2 red cards we have received this yr have been correct. I think it has come from a real desire to fight for everything and push for promotion.

Maybe 5/6 usual uni starters with a few coming on late off the bench.

From what I saw selwyn looked good, but uni was the better team throughout and deserved the win.

Penalty and red card seemed harsh on selwyn and changed the game, but if he was last man it's the right call.

I thought it was a pen and a yellow as if start of Euro 2016? Or is that not a world wide rule until after Euro?

Dan Ede the only person to pick the draw with Uni and Halswell. He's also the only person to think Western are in for all 3 points over Bays. Foal30 picked the draw in that game. Big Cheese and I are picking FC2011 to get a draw against Tech. Obviously the last game is a bit of a mixture. Let me know if you don't want your picks shared.

Plenty of points to be made this weekend!
