Yeah I must say I don't know why Macca gets to walk into a team that was winning games week in week out to play like that, Captain or not.... And yes I also agree Jackson was absolutely woeful.... he will up n leave that Coastal team as soon as something better pops along. Knighty proved he's 4 times better then Eddie as always. To be fair Coastal were actually the better team for 45 minutes but once a goal down just did not have a clue how to get through defensive pedigree of Schwarz's n Halligan... Never met Ekow but feel sorry for the young guy seeing his team play like that in the 2nd half. Be interesting to see how Coastal react. Could be a great time for Ferrymead to have the last laugh. Tech are champions again surely but still a disappointing season for them?

All the pressure looks to be mounting on Tech BIG TIME. No matter what happens Coastal will be applauded for their efforts and season thus far. As for Tech, a loss may end their era IMO and in turn will see some drastic measures being taken from the club to try stay in touch with the SPIRIT.

As The Messiah and I agreed last week Mirimar v CTFC was a big step up from the run of the mill MPL game.
IMO Young players should watch and learn from these rare quality games and not focus on throwing verbal crap around if they want to play at that level.
Firstly, if this is the real Fred Simpson this is an absolute joke! Someone who used to be involved at national level and regional level and now involved with Tech making comments like this? A shame to the club after a good win.
As a region we should be happy for what coastal are doing, playing good football and challenging tech but also bringing atmosphere! And that's coming from me a Ferrymead fan!
Wasn't at the game so can't make comments on the game, as for us I was gutted we threw a couple goal lead to Nelson! Still have faith for the English cup final!

Yes. He is a young dominate ball playing CB. He was the best defender in the park. The Cash Tech defenders relied on the long ball too much today but I must admit they're a class above in the air.
Gordon needs another 4 or 5 years before being up to a CD position in the national league IMO.

Could do a lot worse. Too many of the younger players do not have the commitment and patience to work in a back up role.
He would learn that as a CB it is more important to ensure clean sheets than looking good on the ball. National league all about results.

don't really support an MPL side but I do get down to a game each week.
Yesterday I got down to cuthberts gr to watch spirit v tech. Credit to spirit for providing a decent surface for the game, which held up reasonably well. I thought Coastal were somewhat hard done by to be down at HT playing decent football and creating several clear cut opportunities but couldn't capitalise. Second half really showed the difference between the two sides, tech finishing really well and hurting CSFC. Although tech won convincingly I still found it a really enjoyable game to watch with a good atmosphere. However, techs support from behind the goal was disgusting and a real disappointment. The coach is a loud wanker and the players are very dirty
Well summed up mate. Had Coastal only converted their chances in the 1st half but credit to Danny in goals n the twins as well. On the whole it was a really entertaining game. I thought Lyle was pretty quiet 1st half but damn he was awesome in tht 2nd half. As for the idiots supporting behind Coastal goal particularly Brando...sorry but the guy is an absolute tool n a disgrace to Tech. He's lucky tht big fella was so chilled or he could have got smacked. Heck I felt like smacking him. But well done Tech. Ekow n his boys should be well proud of the way they have played this season. Although I'm not a fan of all the players particularly Jackson n Tristan, I think they play well as a team. And yes I do think Jackson is overrated and average but thts just my opinion.

On reflection, I wonder if it might have been a bit of payback for the efforts of Coastal's 'rent a mob' the previous week at the Chatham Cup game.

rent a mob ... Classic. As an outsider to this league a bit of banter from the fans adds atmosphere sure sometimes it's over the top but I enjoyed it as a player , rise to the challenge don't bitch like a school girl on the forum about it. Banter/abuse etc is part of the game like it or not

What a terrific opportunity we had to steal the title. Was a shame about the weather, we had some big plans that fell through because of the rain.
5-0 scoreline is pretty harsh. Was an intensely close affair for 65 minutes.

So I think your chat about Matt C being injured was true because OMG in that 2nd half he couldnt run and his lofty balls turned to mud. Big mistake from your Messiah to keep him on. Add dodgy Jacko and loopey Louie in the mix and it was a mighty fine recipe to concede four goals..... Ludicrous. Oh and forgot to mention not so steady Eddie Ouch!
If you want to seriously beat Tech then you will need some new players me thinks.

Bagging our defence I see? Well, I think if you take away the 6-2 whipping when we had 10 men and chased the game, and you take away the 4 goals conceded in the last 20 yesterday where we chased the game to try win the league, I would argue we have conceded the least amount of goals in MPL history? haha

I think you will have to re-evaluate your tactics in trying to steal the title.
First if you get the same opportunity again. Don't spend the weekend before deriding and gloating over the opposition losing an important cup game against quality opposition.
CTFC losing was the worst thing for your chances. With one eye on the cup they may just have taken their eye of the league.
Listening to some of the ridicule from your mob last week will have made certain they were up for it this week.
Winning a local cup and losing the league, if you do, is an improvement but hardly satisfactory.
Playing an attractive brand of football is good, becoming more clinical and competitive should be the aim from here IMO.

Personally, I consider Jackson and Tristan 2 of the more talented in the squad. might need to move to develop further though.
