You seem very keen on offending everyone recently. Obviously you are or were a good footballer with a perfect body

Nelson Suburbs fielded an ineligible play in the opening round against Cashmere Technical which ended in a scoreless draw, so result now 3 - 0 in favour of Tech.

No doubt Phillip Rollo will have more details in the Nelson Mail later today.

Cashmere Technical 2 2 0 0 7 3 4 6
Ferrymead Bays 2 2 0 0 3 1 2 6

Nelson Suburbs 2 1 0 1 2 4 -2 3

If I had to guess its probably related to the players who backed up from the Tasmna United game the day before.

Look on the bright side vim. You may lose a point in tipping comp, but gives your coastal boys a chance of finishing above nelson in 3 rd spot.

It's not a bright side at all. Any team taking points off Tech is a friend of ours. We're aiming for number 1 not number 3.

Any reason there isn't a Friday night fixture at English Park tonight?

I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do with myself instead.

Woolston Tech's odds on the TAB are looking very tasty.

Home game. Defending champ. Dragons players cleared.

What am I missing?

I guess cause Ferrymead are 2 from 2. I'm all over the $2.40 on offer for FC at home vs Varsity though!

Probably loaded the odds the wrong way round, anyone who got on Tech at $3.40 will probably find their bet cancelled and refunded. Always a possibility to happen when some rugby-head in Wellington is loading odds on a competition he knows nothing about!

Yer I wonder who gets to pick the odds? They're probably looking at the professional outfit over there in the tipping competition.

In what could be the biggest moment in football history, word has it that Broonie will tomorrow don the mighty Coastal Spirit shirt.

Surely the rumour mill has just gone a little mental with that one tho huh?

Shushy I think you have overestimated. They were only in the game for 75 minutes because Coastal were awful in the first 45 and gifted them a goal plus several other opportunities. Stunning turn around in the second half saw Coastal dominate to take the points 2-1. Would loved to have heard Messiah's team talk at half time!

Oh now I think I understand - is today the first time in a long time you've participated in a lower grade game JB? The simple explanation is the "black" you refer to is the weedkiller used to mark the lines. You must have played in a more affluent area today, out east they just spray them with water and hope for the best :)

How did the game go.?

Wouldn't say so. Both teams will be up there during the season and Chch Utd had work to do from pre sea

United v Selwyn wasnt a boring 0-0 either. United had 5 or 6 chances and selwyn had a couple. Both teams left a lot on the field. United were probably the pick of the two teams. I'm only an occasional mpl watcher but the quality of football in this game from both teams was better (and more interesting) than a lot I have seen in that league. It will be an interesting season.
