Plenty riding on the result of the Round 18 catch-up game tomorrow night at English Park between Halswell and FC Twenty 11. A win or draw for Halswell will see them go back to the top of the table. A win for FC will see then draw level on points with UC, but they would still be at the foot of the table, but it would keep alive their hopes of avoiding the drop, a draw is a minimum, with a loss meaning FC would be consigned to a bottom two finish.

FC Nelson have been declared winners, based that they were leading after 12 of the 18 rounds, with the final six rounds now unable to be completed due to rain in the Nelson / Tasman regions over the past month. I understand that FC Nelson wish to contest the play-offs.
Northern AFC have secured the title down south. Again I understand Northern wish to contest the play-offs.
Would be a bit strange for a team looking to enter the Southern League, to sign an MOU with a club already in the league??

Seems like FC Nelson are keen, based on this from Halswell in their pre-match post for tonight.
"Bring it on – and remember, after this we have just one league match to go: Western AFC at home on Friday 6th September. That game could decide the league title and whether our journey continues into the Southern League play-offs against FC Nelson!"
Do forget a pathway is two ways. If FC Nelson make the SL maybe United have players on their 'book's that will be sent north to play for FC to gain SL experience, if they cannot break into the United SL squad.coochiee

That would be a bit odd if both clubs are in the same comp. But hey it maybe a non issue, and yes FC Nelson are dead keen to be in the Southern League

Yeah in that scenario I'd imagine they would just keep FC in there to return to a 10 team league.

The only team still able to be promoted from the CCL would be Coastal Reserves. Third on 31 pts, behind Bays Keen Lads (36) and Selwyn Turkeys (39). Still three games to play in the league, with a round of catch-up games in the next few days, Sep 6 and another round of catch-ups on Sep 13.
After tonight's Canterbury Championship League games, table toppers Selwyn Turkeys defeated Cashmere Technical U20's 2- 0 and 2nd placed Ferrymead Keen Lads defeated 3rd placed Coastal Spirits U20's 3 - 0 so with two rounds to play Selwyn on 42 points, Bays 39 and Coastal stay on 31.

Yes, and Selwyn Turkeys cannot be promoted because Selwyn first team will be in the CPL so they stay in Championship and Selwyn Reserves will also be in the Championship.
Selwyn's first team going up to the Southern League means their reserves have also been promoted to the CPL to replace them. Unsure what happens with UC - whether they have two or three teams in CPL/CCL, and if only two, who fills that gap in the CCL
Not sure what the final make up of CCL will be yet as apparently Oxford have pulled out and from what I've heard, Div 1 champions Cashmere Tech Originals aren't going up either
