1 player out of 32 though? They couldn't throw us a bone even just the sake for a proverbial 'pat on the back'?

It's the 32 with the most votes. If a Phoenix player didn't get voted in then tough luck. Although Hernandez might have gone close..

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today revealed Central Coast Mariners defenders Josh Rose and Storm Roux, Sydney FC duo Sasa Ognenovski and Ali Abbas, and Western Sydney Wanderers’ Matthew Spiranovic & Tomi Juric as the first six players to join captain, Alessandro Del Piero in the Foxtel A-League All Stars 2014 squad.

surely they should have had some kind of rule that every vote has to include at least 1 player from each team. It seems that fans of any team can vote for their starting 11 to be made up entirely of players from the team that they support, which is something that I am sure that a number of idiots would have done.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

He was rather good last season, mainly filling in as LB for Sydney.

Voted by the fans, the Victorian-based trio of Melbourne City forward David Williams and Melbourne Victory duo Besart Berisha and Gui Finkler are the latest to join the squad of All Stars coach Josep Gombau.

So far three players who I selected for the bench have made it in. No others. Here was my squad:

No one else voted for the HAL All Stars? Interested to see other teams. It does seem that they are making sure at least one player represented by each club. I only had 5 clubs represented by my team.

Injuries and transfers have culled the field a bit. 16 are voted for, 4 are picked by Gombau afaik.

Well if  Ibini is average then what does that make our players.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

He held them together towards the end of the season. Shame he's as old as Methuselah.

All Stars now with added Riera - some interest for us Nix supporters now.

Patrice Evra has just signed for Juve - must be a chance of him coming since Juve will be well into their pre-season by the time of the All Stars game.

I wonder if the game will be televised here?

Bound to be lots of streams anyway.

They did have the game as part of Manchester United's preseason (they had like 5 of their preseason games) so it may be unlikely that they have this years game

Jade North replaces Spiranovic, who is having surgery and out for 2-3 months.

Permalink Permalink

That fucking staggers me that Jade North can make this squad. The only reason must be his combination with Matt Smith.

Players who played CB last year better than Jade North and not selected:

  1. Dura
  2. Siggy
  3. Michael Thwaite
  4. Hyphen
  5. Slower than a wet week Boogaard
  6. Pretty boy Zach Anderson

I would almost have Kisnorbo in there instead (almost)

Jebus, he wasn't even the best ex-nix player playing at CB last year. McKain was better.

In case you have forgotten, and it is not, by any means their fault alone, we shipped 52 goals last year. To have one of our back four in there is plenty tbh.

To be fair, as pants as he was for us, North was reasonably solid for the Roar last year. I would have put Hyphen ahead of him (again a surprise) based on last years form though.

I think you are all forgetting that this All Stars squad is in no way intended to be an inditement on how well players performed in the league last season.
