Auckland are premiers.

Three for me, and two for them.

This guy Sail looks okay. Commanding his area well against the corners so far. Getting the punches in.

Perth here to play.

Mata showing his AW legacy form. Great keeping, great delivery, great leaping and only one on target from 3 or 4.

I'd take Mata at the NIX in a heart beat.

He's been unlucky - a couple great chances, with some blocks and great saves denying him and others.

Auckland could be up by 4 with better luck.

They are a good watch - unlike us unfortunately.

LOL Perth to poop on the party with a late goal winner. Actually i think the floodgates will open second half and AFC will bang in a few.

Just had a vision of Mata and Piper as a front two strike force. UFC in the penalty area - but still no goals.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m a Mata fan. Watched Isak miss half a dozen for Newcastle and he’s the best striker in Europe.

And when Rogerson scores it’s because Mata and whoever else suck in all the defenders and he’s got space to ghost in at the back stick…

But Mata has had a couple of great chances he’s put just wide and one brilliant save from Oli.

Been a good game so far. Perth are unlikely to finish bottom next season you’d think. Will they have Mrcela and Wootton?

Francois has been underwhelming huh? Not much of an improvement, if at all on Gillion.

Perth try to put on a show, they try, our team should look at them for inspiration

And they get them. Every body and his dog at the front post. Corner avoids everyone and goes in at the back post!

Might be flood gates.

Poor old Mata. Obviously a worked move. He’s at the back post for the tap in and isn’t required.

Nix kept the fires burning in Aucks after horrific and failed teams. Though that’s harsh on the King(z). Whatever we say about Chief, he’s not in the same hemisphere of as the Knights…

Who passes worse, Piper or Gillion?

Who passes worse, Piper or Gillion?

They're both triers. Together they'd make a good double act in Hollywood B movies on appearance alone. Piper & Gillion, Private Investigators (but not to the stars). More comedy than serious drama.

So we're cheering on Brisbane right? 1-1 between CCM and them at half time.

Yep, thanks to them beating CCM last night we’re now masters of our own destiny: win against Perth tomorrow and we’ll play them again in Darwin on the 13th, lose or draw and we’ll face Brisbane on the 14th instead.

Should be some good games tonight. Hoping for a draw between City and Sydney, so there is a bit riding on the next two games tonight

Auckland will rise once more

Draw or SFC win would definitely be preferable to keep things interesting through the evening. Unfortunately Behich has given MC an early lead.

No squad rotation for AFC. Fair enough I guess. Want to keep your squad match sharp, considering this is their last match for a fortnight.

Could they meet Western U again in the semis?

My 2c: Moreno, Brimmer, Elliot and Randall in for Francois, Gallegos, Rogerson and Mata. Assuming all are fit.
Too many squandered chances last week.

Potential rivalry between Auckland and Western? Western were the first club to beat Auckland, and at home no less, and now they're spoiling Auckland's last game of the regular season.

Western seem to have the ability to rattle Auckland not many other clubs have had this season.

AFC vs Western in the semis would be an interesting watch. This is twice that AFC have been schooled by them. 3-0

Dude. That’s a Kosta that they keep on their bench. 8 goals in the regular season. If there’s not a massive spending difference there then some players in AFC are getting screwed and some Phoenix players are overpaid.

Moreno makes it 3-1.

I wonder when the last time a team won a league and never was  awarded a penalty in a season?

Auckland will rise once more

Whoops, Western will finish third so can only play AFC in the Grand Final.

WSW home & away, followed by Western in the Final would be a tough path.

First time ever.

Second time a team hasn't taken any penalties all season. Roar 05/06 the only other time.
